Personal statement
I have been captivated regarding the hospitality sector as the areas has range of opportunities
of work that makes it one of the interesting sectors of working in the sector. Well along with the
course of hospitality management, I would like to take up the social work course; asocial
working is broadly associated to the serving of human being. As a highly encouraged and
hardworking person, I have previously working in Griddle Dinner as a Waitress. Here, I perform
several in effective manner such as welcomes consumers when they arrive at restaurant, cafe and
drinking establishment as well as aware to the menu and communicate or announce daily or
seasonal menu specials (Thetsane and et. al., 2020). Along with this, I also reply the questions of
customers about menu items, ingredients and cost etc., take customers orders for meal and drink,
entering them in to a table and passes their orders to kitchen staff. In this job role, the I also
ready drinks and offer them to consumer, collects food items for the kitchen that are ordered by
consumers, verifies them that are placed to right place and to accurate target audience.
Working as Waitress, in respective venture, I also responsible to analyse that consumer are
get satisfaction by taking the benefits of food and drink products of enterprise. In addition to it,
cash and credit card payments and return change to customers are some duties are also played by
the person so have information about online payment. This all help in developing
communication, management and problem solving skills because the person meets with
customers daily basis, communicate them and help in resolving their queries related to food and
drink items and manage their orders by offering them timely.
To perform duties as a cleaner in offices, hotels and other organisations, I improve time
management and self motivation skills. At the time of executing this job, the individual perform
cleaning duties like sweeping and mopping floors in guest rooms, office, hallways and reception
areas. Along with it, I vacuum carpets and rugs in rooms and hotel areas, empty ashtrays and
waste bins as well as make proper cleaning and safety in hotels and other institutions (Xu, Lo
and Wu, 2018). Along with this, I also accountable for laundry services and appropriately
coordinated for all guests to decrease complaints and dissatisfaction.
Apart from these, to execute all these duties, I have effective communication skill which is
gained by experience and knowledge as waitress. Excellent contact abilities, empathy with
individual is developed through several voluntaries activities. In addition to this, these
employments also help me in improving and developing skills like decision making, time

management, self motivation, leadership and Problem solving etc. Due to working as waitress
job the individual also have information and know English language because in restaurant, I
communicated with different people who prefer English and other language etc (Everett, 2016).
These all assist in improving the work profile of individual as well as assist in switching or
working at new place as an good job role or position. Taking up this course, I think will assist me
in understanding society, their values and needs of people as well as their perception. It is crucial
for the hospitality sector to be humble and considerate while working. Whilst working between
people during waitress and cleaner jobs, I have analysed that my values and the beliefs regarding
the individual have been changed and more likely it has been advanced and now, I have learned
to respect individual of society and get information about values, wants, demands and beliefs of
consumers.
