1PERSONAL SWOT ANALYSIS
At present, I am working in a MNC. After I completed by masters in computer
science, I was very puzzled about whether to look forward for continuing with my higher
studies or a job. As because the financial condition of my family during those days was not
stable enough to invest more on my future studies, I decided to try for a job instead. I went
for job interview at several different companies. I tried my best to get selected but none of the
companies called me back. Finally, the sixth job interview of mine led me to go into
depression. The mild optimism of mine had turned into severe pessimism. I was unable to
find a job with a mere college degree. I had passed many sleepless nights in my bedroom,
thinking what to do now? What if I could not get a job? What if no one would hire me? Are
all the years that I spent on studying computer science in vain? Actually, the fact was I kept
on trying for getting a job in the most renowned companies with huge salaries and
recognition. However, one day I got called in for an interview in a company I work today. It
was my twelfth interview and I still remembered how passionately I gave that interview with
an urge to get hired immediately. Finally, I was hired as a system technician. Later, I realized
that it was not because the content of my resume or the degree that I hold for which I was
successful in passing the interview. The thing that impressed my interviewers is the way I
presented myself in front of them. The way I answered each of their questions, they way I
managed to handle the ones that could answer and the passion in my eyes that led me stare
them unblinkingly to those interviewers during the interview were the things that impressed
them. It was not about my qualification, or the experience that I gained after doing my
internship or the grades that I have scored during my educational years. It was all about the
manner I had answered to their questions that they have asked me during the interview.
However, after getting the job and working for the company for a month, I one day found me
recalling those days of interviews. I found that day there were huge differences in my
approach to the interview in which I finally passed than to the ones I kept on failing in. there

was a sudden urge took place within me to note down my strengths and weaknesses and
hence, I looked forward for an online SWOT analysis tool where I listed down my strengths,

system technician.

Strengths- As I was aware of my strengths very well therefore, it did not take much time for
me to assess my strengths. My biggest strengths are that I can jell up with the ones I am
surrounded by, very easily. This will be highly beneficial for me if I am provided with a team
work. I am also very determined in my work role. With the same, I have the potential within
me to solve any work related problems, whether it is related to ethics or directly to my job
role. Also, I have also noticed that I can make eye contact while talking with the people.
These are indeed a great sign and are considered to be some of the necessities of in any job
roles.
Weaknesses- It took a bit longer for me to assess my weaknesses as I wanted to work more
on my weakness so that it would no longer hamper my professional career. Therefore, I took

much time to jot down my weaknesses point by point. At that time I was feeling empowered.
It was true that I was very bad at giving interviews as you can see that it was my twelfth
interview where I got finally selected. Also, I also found that sometimes, I tend to think too
much and in this process I end up creating a new issue which is not there at the first place.
The tendency of over thinking makes me stressed out. With the same, it is also true that I
lack in good communication skills and this is the main reason why I get failed in most of the
situation.
Opportunities- It was the toughest one. It took much time for me to think about the
opportunities that are present for me and of what I can take advantage at my work place. The
positive aspect of the job is that it is under a well known company (both nationally and
internationally). Hence, from this context, I found out that if I get involved with this company
to its core, I could interact with the foreign clients and build my own network that would be
highly beneficial for me in my professional career.
Threats- While considering the threats present for me I realized that the biggest challenge that
I could ever face would be the change in technology and that of industry trends. This is
because; with the change in technology and industry trends, I need to develop new skills
within me in order to keep up with the same. This could take much time and in this process I
might have to hamper my profession as well. Also, getting transferred to a different place will
also be challenge for me.
