a. What is your MBTI profile? Describe how people with this profile think and behave?
My MBTI profile that matches me is the ESFJ or the Caregiver (Refer to Appendix
for test result). The full form of this personality type is Extraversion, Sensing, Feeling and
Judging. This profile suggests that my dominant qualities are outgoing, loyal, organized and
tender hearted (ESFJ Personality Type: The Caregiver - Online Personality Tests). This is
moderately common kind of personality. People of this kind of personality is extrovert and
gets energy from interaction with other people. They are outspoken, outgoing and like to have
a good social life. People with extrovert personality are likely to talk out their ideas with
others and like to live in a fast paced environment. They like to be the center of attraction and
thrive well under attention.
These people are more focused on the reality of the matter rather than future
possibilities. They like facts and details and like ideas that can be applied in practical and real
life. They are not much fond of the abstract ideas and find it difficult to take decisions based
on ideas and probability alone. They need to have concrete information and tested methods
before they can proceed with their plans (Blodgett). These kind of people tend to make
decisions based on how they feel, their emotions and by considering others rather than
making hard rational decisions. Their judging trait allows them to plan things out before time,
have agendas and timelines and this makes them feel in control. Overall, these kind of people
are friendly, outgoing, reliable, practical, productive and active in nature.
b. Do you agree with your MBTI profile? Do you think it is an accurate depiction of
your personality? List a few famous and successful people with your profile. Do you
think you share similar qualities and traits?
I completely agree with my MBTI profile. I believe that I am quite social and love
being in a social circle. I have string values and like to take most decisions based on that. I

am always careful about not violating my own set of codes as I value them dearly. I am more
of fact based person and make several considerations and discuss with people before I take
any decision. I focus at the task at hand the set timeline according to my priorities
(Jankowski). I also have the habit of making detailed plans and being punctual as I believe
that it makes everything go smoother. Due to my feeling trait I tend to give more importance
to personal impact rather than only thinking about the objective outcome, thus sometimes
missing the bigger picture.
I share my personality type with many famous personalities like Prince William, the
Duke of Cambridge, Mariah Carey, the singer, Sarah Palin, the former minister of Alaska,
Elton John, the singer, Larry King and Mary Tyler Moore. Personalities like Terry Bradshaw,
the footballer, Sally Field, the actress, Bill Clinton and William McKinley, both US
Presidents share the same personality trait with me. All of them enjoy social ties and care for
others (Henkel et al.). They value relationships and like to channel their energy through forms
of their work. Popularity and being in the limelight is one of their likings and thus, many of
the people sharing the same personality trait have served the entertainment industry. I share
many of these characteristics as I like being with friends and having a large friends group. I
also like when they care about me and I myself, is very caring towards them.
What kinds of job and career paths are best suited to people who have your MBTI
profile? Do these jobs and careers interest you? Why or why not?
As people individuals and their liking for interaction, there are many of the caregiving
and public figure jobs that they can carry out most efficiently. The best choices for career for
ESFJs are childcare, nursing, teaching, social work, counselling, physician, receptionist,
manager and book keeper. All of these jobs require constant interaction with people, social
circle and our extrovert nature can easily manage such situations. Moreover, the caregiving

professions require a certain amount of empathy which we possess which makes these kinds
of jobs easier for us (Mallari and Pelayo). Being a manager also requires decision making and
time management skills that people with this kind of personality possesses.
The suitable jobs stated here are all quite exciting and desirable to me. Serving people
in need and taking care of them gives me great pleasure. Managing people and leading them
is also quite good and as it has been seen, many of the political figures share the same
qualities (Schurr). My fun loving nature and a penchant for organizing things and making
schedules also makes me a good receptionist or book keeper, but I am not that interested in
those jobs as I am to the caregiving opportunities. The personality traits and the job
opportunities give me a good direction to where I should see myself in future.
