As stated by Raines (2019), different individuals have diverse personalities and these
differences can often give rise to various kinds of conflicts among them. Wilson and Nagy
(2017) are of the viewpoint that these conflicts related to personality can create various
opportunities or benefits and if not handled effectively then can give rise to diverse issues as
well. In this connection, I would like to say that I myself have experienced various conflicts
related to the difference my personality and that of the others. One such conflict related to
personality that I experienced was during my last part-time work in a movie theatre wherein the
manager of the theater had an introvert personality whereas I am an extrovert. This in turn made
the process of communication or for that matter the transfer of work related information between
the manager and me very difficult. More importantly, majority of the times he was either not
being able to cascade adequate information or was not very willing to help us to understand the
things that he wanted the workers to do. This adversely affected the quality of work which was
being performed by me while making it very difficult to complete the tasks which were being
allocated to me. Thus, I decided to take the help of different measures so as to resolve this
personality related conflict between me and my manager. Some of the most important measures
which I undertook were enhancing my engagement with him so that he would feel more
comfortable with me and thereby freely interact, focusing on the strength points of my own
personality so as to reduce the personality related conflict among us and others.

contribute adequately towards the organizational growth or development. From my own personal
experiences I would say that both of these are important from the workplace setting. For
instance, if the personalities of the workers in a particular workplace are different then the
workers of the concerned workplace have the opportunity to learn as well as inculcate new
personality traits which are likely to help them to effectively perform the job roles that are being
allocated to them (Podsiadly & Gamian-Wilk, 2017). More importantly, it had been seen that the
contemporary workers are often required to interact with different customers who are from
different backgrounds and even the workplaces of the different corporations have become highly
diversified (Harrison, Grover & Furnham, 2018). Thus, it is likely that by getting the opportunity
to learn new personality traits it is likely that the workers would be able to inculcate the
personality traits which will enable them to deal with the customers or their colleagues
adequately and thereby contribute towards the organizational growth. On the other hand, it had
been seen that the similarities of personality between the different workers of a workplace are
also equally important. This can be explained on the basis of the fact that if the personality traits
of the different workers within a workplace are similar then it makes it easier for them to
collectively complete the various tasks or the work roles that are being delegated to them and
thereby enhance the organizational productivity (Pallesen et al., 2017).

Harrison, Grover and Furnham (2018) are of the viewpoint that an important way through
which the corporations can reduce personality related conflicts by offering the workers adequate
information or knowledge regarding the different personality traits or the personality types. I
personally feel that this is important since by having adequate knowledge or information
regarding the personality traits of their colleagues, the workers would not be able to understand

contemporary business corporations since it had been seen that within the contemporary business
corporations the workers are required to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and
