It so happened today that I went to one my friend’s house where I was mesmerized to see how
beautifully she has maintained a garden of her own behind their courtyard. Living in a busy
metro city has almost made me forgot the sight of greenery and the small yet serene garden space
of my friend, nurtured with love and care touched me. I thought of doing the same in our balcony
but my mother initially highly opposed it. She was the opinion that it was possible for my friend
since they have a separate courtyard and gardening in balcony is not at all a novel idea since it
will be difficult for cleaning stuffs and maintaining those. I realized her point and agreed to clean
it all by myself but still she turned a deaf ear.
This was exactly where I had to persuade her for her consent. Since my mother had valid
point in her reluctance I decided to persuade her with logic. I took the path of applying logos as a
persuasive method in order to make her realize the benefits of having atheist some greenery
around us. I assured her that most of the care will be given by me and tell her what good effects
we can have if we endure some of the difficulties and hassle. This seemed o have a positive
effect on my mother’s thought process and she gave a nod of approval.
