Introduction
Apart from the industry factors and internal resources of the company, several more factors like
macro-economic and micro-economic factors plays a vital role in the performance of the
company. In situations like product launching ideas, launching of new ventures, etc., these
factors are analyzed carefully to determine their role in the success of the organization. For this,
the analytical tool is used for assessing the macroeconomic factors. This is called the PEST
analysis. PEST stands for political, economic, social, and technological. This will be helpful in
determining the impact of such factors o the activities and performance of the business. It has
collaborated with Porter's Five Forces and SWOT analysis.
Women@thewell
It is a new initiative that started to be the Institute of Our Lady of Mercy. It provides a
multifaceted and uniquely holistic range of servicewomen who are a part of multiple cycles of
social and abuse exclusion. It will give the supportive and creative space for vulnerable women,
based on the gospel values (Women’s Breakout, 2017). It will develop a response to their
requirements, and also enables them or making a choice. It is done to improve life's quality. The
major factors that were identified were service complexity.

 Greenwich London Borough Council is
the local authority of Greenwich in
Greater London, England.
 The Greenwich Borough Council
includes 51 councilors. The labor party
has a majority with 43 seats.
 Greenwich is split into 17 wards, each
of them electing 3 councilors.
 It includes the constituencies of

 The child protection plan is made for
the children who are at risk.
 Young people, families, and children
are protected and helped by knowing
their problems and intervene for them.
 Greenwich provides a wide range of
training and education opportunities to
all age groups (Beijuka, et. al., 2018).

condition.
 If the savings are below the predefined
amount, then the house value is
disregarded for 12 weeks from the
entering date.
Technological
 It provides a range of equipment or
monitoring. The help is 24*7 available.
 The standard Telecare alarm for
activating an emergency call on
pressing the button on a pendant or a
bracelet.
 The sophisticated sensors are used to
trigger a call in the case of emergencies
like the gas has left on or bath is
overflowing.
 By triggering the buttons, the staff of
the Greenwich Telecare will become
alert to provide treatment (Joseph,
2015).
 These technologies can be used by any
older people, people with disabilities,
or vulnerable people.

Political
 Greenwich has a total of 51 councilors with 43. There exist 17 wards, each having three
councilors. Any of the three can be consulted regarding the issue raised. The key
positions of the council are:
 Mayor
 Deputy mayor
 Overall control
 Opposition leader
 Council leader
 According to the elections of 2018, Danny Thorpe is the current chair of cabinet and
leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The leader is referred to as the senior member
of the council. He is the person who is responsible for budget setting, direct strategic
policy, and decision-making process (Royal Borough of Greenwich, 2019).
 The cabinet includes the senior councilors who can help in determining the policy
development and strategic management of Royal Borough.
Social
 The service of Aids and adaptations for home is a joint initiative between the NHS
Greenwich and Royal Borough of Greenwich. Aid is an equipment piece that can help an
individual to manage the tasks of every day like, getting out, eating, etc. which will
increment the independence of an individual. Examples of aid are:
 Raised toilet seats
 Grab rails
 Bathroom aid
Simple aid can be got in two ways:
 If the person is eligible for the simple aid, then he/she can get a prescription for it.
 It can also be bought directly from the outlet of Royal Greenwich across (Hart, et.
al., 2015).

For getting a prescription, there is a need for assessment by a physiotherapist, district
nurse, occupational therapist, or the hospital nurse.
 The Royal Greenwich helps in finding childcare for the children. They provide advice
and support for finding childcare according to their needs. It gives advice on the
identification of the support financially. They do so to help with the childcare cost while
you train, work, or study (Royal Borough of Greenwich, 2019). They allow making
contact with people who are helping and can help to access suitable employment and
training. This service provided is free and confidential. This service can help in finding
childcare anytime, either right now or in the future.
 The Royal Greenwich provides with the anti-social community which can people at the
time of emergencies or any critical incident. The service can be accessed by calling 999.
Behavior like anti-social is a very serious issue that is responsible for creating nuisance
and distress. The partners of the Royal Greenwich are many. One of them is metropolitan
police, who deals with the residents behaving anti-socially (Joseph, 2015). They say that
if the incident is not very important, the national police can be called by dialing 101. It
allows withholding the personal information of the person who is reporting an incident. If
the problem is very serious, and according to the issues, the actions are taken like keeping
a record of the events, the arrangement is done to receive witness support service, and
also it some time it asks to provide a statement. The following actions are only
undertaken when proper consent is provided. Help and cooperation of the people are
needed to deal with such anti-social incidents (Beijuka, et. al., 2018).
 GLLaB (Greenwich Local Labour and Business) helps in promoting the funded programs
for helping the residents of the Royal Greenwich to get work. The support provided by
the program is as follows:
 Individual appointments with an advisor
 Access to the support of childcare
 Money and debt management advice
 Access to training opportunities
 Guidance on job searching, CV writing, and preparation for the interview.
 The Royal Greenwich provides support for adult learners with dyslexia. Dyslexic affects
10% of the total population. They find difficulty in processing the written language.

Allowance can be applied for the disabled students that can cover the extra cost as a
result of dyslexia (Royal Borough of Greenwich, 2019).
Economic
 The community charge for taking care of the people. The charge is according to the
financial stability of the person. The financial stability of the person is judged by doing a
financial assessment. The cost includes the savings, income, and benefits received. In this
assessment, the value of the current house is not included but the other properties are
considered. The summation of all this is used to assess the financial condition of the
person. If the person is having money below a particular predefined amount, then the
house value is disregarded for 12 weeks. The cost is required to be contributed to being
taken care which is according to the Care Act 2014. If the person is having more than the
predefined amount, some of the services will not be supported to them. This is commonly
known as self-funding (Royal Borough of Greenwich, 2019).
 The service of Welfare rights advises residents of Royal Greenwich on tax benefits and
credits. The UC (Universal Credit) is the benefit for the people having a low income,
aged people. This service has its impact across the country. The benefits are:
 Income support
 Housing benefit
 Child tax credit
 Income-related support and employment allowance
 Working tax credit
If the above benefits are pursued by the person, then he/she cannot go for universal
credit. Before claiming for the universal credit, a person needs to take advice because
legacy benefits cannot be reclaimed (Women’s Breakout, 2017).
 The Royal Greenwich can help with the council tax and the housing roots. The award of
universal credits does not contain the help with the council tax. For this, a separate online
claim is to be made. The housing cost elements of the universal credits can be received to
get help for the service or rent charge. The cost of housing can be directly paid to the
landlord under some circumstances.

Technological
 There is a course which offers residents and young people are grounding for their careers
in the technology of construction. The Peri formwork project is a partnership project
between the Peri formwork and Royal Greenwich, alongside contractors and developers
(Williams, 2017).
 The Royal Greenwich focuses to become a ‘Smart city’ so that the businesses, visitors,
and residents can be benefitted. Advantages of moving the business are:
 Transport links to London
 High-quality environment
 Location near to O2, digital media, communication, and design quarter.
 The digital enterprise Greenwich plays as the host for the UK hub of ‘National Virtual
Incubator. It is launched by the Cisco systems. The aim of this project is to drive
innovation and new business to flourish (Royal Borough of Greenwich, 2019).
 Telecare Service of the Greenwich organizes help for the people in an emergency case.
This telecare service uses the technology which makes use of sensors and alarms. These
sensors and alarms will help the people to connect with the staff of the telecare. This
service is available 24*7. The calls of the alarms are answered by the staff of the Royal
Greenwich. This service can be used by the old and vulnerable people, and also the
people with disabilities so that this person can continue to live independently. The
sensors and alarms are fitted into the pendants which are to be worn on the neck or the
wrist. The button on the pendant, when pressed will notify the staff and make them alert o
that they can assist the emergency case, either medical or other. If certain benefits are
received, then the person needs not to pay the cost fully. In the case of an emergency, the
staff will inform the person's key holders which he/she will nominate (Hart, et. al., 2015).
Recommendations
1. It is highly recommended that Women@thewell should start its service in the Royal
Borough of Greenwich because Greenwich provides many opportunities for women from
educating them to make them ready for the job.
2. Women@thewell should promote its partnership with the Greenwich as there is a large
number of women at the risk there.

3. For Greenwich, women@thewell should be very helpful in taking care of the old women
at Greenwich.
4. It is recommended that Greenwich should use more technologies to educate people and to
take care of them. Technologies should also be used for political purposes.
5. Greenwich should take serious action against the people who promote anti-social
behavior and engage more in bullying.
Conclusion
The report includes the PEST analysis of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The report has
discussed the basic concepts of the PEST. The PEST analysis is done for the macro-
environmental factors and the microenvironmental factors. The Borough selected for this was the
Greenwich and the selected charity organization was Women@thewell. The aim of the charity
was discussed in detail. The table is attached for the PEST analysis done for the Royal Borough
of Greenwich. The political, social, economic, and technological factors for the Greenwich are
discussed in detail. The services provided by Greenwich in each sector are included. The
recommendations are also made for both the charity women@thewell and the Borough.
