by the Petbarn are being evaluated with the help of secondary report. The sustainable practices
done by the company are published in the Annual report. It is being published to make the
stakeholders aware about the good work done by the company. There is use of corporate
websites so that the real information related to the company is analysed and being used (Rossi
and et.al., 2020). All the articles related to the company are evaluated and being used to do
proper research and carry on the report properly. The industry publications are also used as they
help to know about sustainably practices in the whole industry. Retail sector is big and there are
certain important actions that are taken by them to protect the environment. By carrying proper
research, the information regarding the company and the industry is analysed. It helps to write
effectively related to the topic. This helps to know about the areas that are lacking in the
company and suggest them the best practices that can be used by the company in future. This is
necessary to give recommendations to Petbarn regarding the areas that they must work on.
Specific sustainability area
One of the important area of sustainability that must be used by Petbarn is environment.
At the present time there is so much harm caused to the environment. There is lack of natural
resources and due to this reason the business organisations must work on them to take care of
planet. There is rise in pollution that is a major problem faced by the environment (Martínez-
Martínez and et.al., 2019). If pollution level would not be controlled, then this will enhance the
problems for society. This will help the company to contribute positively to the environment.
The whole industry must focus on the environmental sustainability so that all the harmful
substances can be removed. It is important because the humans are able to use the energy
properly and enhance the use human-made resources. It is necessary to manage the work and use
such practices that will help to reduce the wastage of resources. The optimum utilisation of
resources is necessary so that it can be used by future generation as well (Breuer and et.al.,
2018). It is a global concern and there is need of reducing the harm to environment and adopting
these practices for success of enterprise.

need of implementing a recycling programme. The packaging of the company must be designed
in such a manner that the same can be recycled. It helps to reduce the wastage of resources and at
the same time reuse the resources. It is beneficial for the environment as the used materials are
not being dumped in environment. The ethical recycling practice of the company will help to
manage the working condition of the business.
Conserve energy within the office: It is another practice that can be adopted by
enterprise. There is need of using electronic equipment’s in effective manners and switching of
the lights in order to save electricity (Roxas, 2021). The use of energy in proper manner is
necessary to contribute towards environment. All the people working in the organisation must
follow all these principles in order to achieve sustainability effectively.
Promote a paperless office: The use of digitalisation is enhancing and there are regular
updates in the technology. The use of latest technology will help to cut less trees. The work can
be done on Microsoft office and the records are kept there. This also help to save trees and is
necessary for environmental sustainability. It will help to save environment and reduce pollution
in the nation.
Electronic vehicles: There is rise in pollution due to petrol and diesel vehicles. It is right
time to switch towards electric vehicles as they follow the principle of go green. It helps them to
reduce the emission of harmful gases and reduce pollution (Das and Rangarajan, 2020). It is also
important for safety of environment.
