Considering the business services as well as the market competition of the retail
company Peterson, it has been noticed that there is a significant impact of effective
information technology system in order to enhance the services and the marketing of the
organisation. Being a Chief Information Officer there is a huge responsibility to gather detail
information about the strength and the weaknesses of the company in order to address as well
as to enhance the identified services. Followed by the above aspects this memo is prepared
with the purpose to identify all the organizational threats and weaknesses. Considering those
key findings, it will then propose effective Information Technology strategy which will
mitigate threats and vulnerabilities by enhancing the strength and weaknesses of Peterson.
Followed by the above listed aspects there are several informative contents has been
received after conducting a SWOT analysis on the business services as well as in the
marketing strategies of the organization Peterson. According to the SWOT analysis it has
been noticed that since, Peterson is one of the most efficient retail company which is known
as one of the best drug chain and food retailing company. Followed by this aspect it has been
noticed that one of the biggest threats is the rival company Goodmart as after investigating
the market status it has been noticed that Goodmart has effectively expanded their business
by providing best quality services which holds a significant possibility to replace the market
position of Peterson. Along with the above aspect it has been also observed that the
organization holds a significant limitation related to the less effective information handling

process which impacts the business services. After investigating the business strength and
opportunities several beneficial aspects has been noticed which includes the aspect to adopt
effective information technology strategies with the purpose to mitigate the identified
problems related to the digital marketing and the services of the organization. Following
these aspects as a Chief Information officer it is suggested to incorporate the feature of cloud
computing which will offer several functional capabilities to address the opportunities and
mitigate the identified risk as well as the vulnerabilities. Considering the retail business
services of Peterson as well as by analysing the offered features of Cloud computing in has
been observed that incorporation of effective cloud infrastructure will enhance the channel
operations by making it more customized for the customers. Along with is it has effective
supply chain visibility which enables the organization to handle the supply chain system
digitally with the help of internet and cloud features. Following the above beneficial features
incorporation of cloud infrastructure will help to make more effective decisions as it work by
analysing big data which contains a large set of customers’ as well as market data. Hence, it
can be stated that due to the incorporation of the above technology Peterson will sure address
all its opportunities. Considering this aspect it is recommended to the CEO that the
incorporation with Amazon cloud services will surely help to address listed findings and
along with is Peterson must enable and enhance its e-commerce feature with the purpose to
expand the business.
