PLANNING
Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1. Research Background
Festival event planning has turned out to be a vital consideration for any organization
that is focussed on promoting business. Carefully planned events facilitate the festival events
a closer along with highly personal interaction means with the current or potential consumers.
The success or failure of the festival events can be determined by its sponsors through
maintaining quality in every aspect of the event (Musgrave and Henderson 2015). In addition,
success in the festival events planning needs a coordinated action plan and maintaining
constant quality management in the festival events planning. It is deemed appropriate to
suitably review the steps required to maintain constant quality in planning an event during
festivals that is attained through considering the factors like scope, time and costs
compromises quality.
In analysing the Glastonbury Festival Event Planning, it has been observed that the
planners consider maintained of exceptional quality in all its necessary event activities for
ensuring its success (MykkƤnen 2015). A quality and successful Festival Event Planning is a
combination of time, costs and services offered. The quality control managers in the events
like Glastonbury Festival Event Planning ensure that the event operations run efficiently and
smoothly. It is also ensured by the event planners that they successfully enforce a basics
standard of the quality which is predetermined by the event planners. In consideration to the
events planning of Glastonbury Festival it can be ensured that a level of quality can be
maintained by the planners in order to make sure that the set standards for the event do not
fall apart (Raj, Walters and Rashid 2017).

1.2. Research Problem
From analysing the Glastonbury Festival event planning it has been gathered that with
each year this festival event planning is facing issues in attaining increased guest visits and is
also dealing with issues in maintaining quality checks in its event activities. It has been
revealed that the organizations of Glastonbury Festival were fined for increased human waste
population that leaked from a tank and polluted a stream (Richmond 2017). There was lack of
effective waste management plan that had drastic impacts on the environment. This is also
resulting in increased challenges faced by the event planners of Glastonbury Festival in
satisfying the consumers particularly when the requirements of distinct stakeholder groups
are not considered to be same. In addressing such research problem, the current study will
evaluate the impact of various quality aspects on successful execution of Glastonbury
Festival event Planning (Robbins 2017).
The research problem has also identified that the Glastonbury Festival event Planning
is dealing with issues related with maintaining food and beverages safety as a lot of
complaints exist regarding increasing wasted bottles and rising costs of such services. Special
needs of the consumers are also vital to be considered by Glastonbury Festival event Planning
in which the planners are lagging to meet special needs of the guests (Robertson, Yeoman,
Smith and McMahon-Beattie 2015). For this reason, to facilitate the marketers of the
Glastonbury Festival event in developing a successful event plan, the organizer must be able
to attain answers regarding ways in which events can be organized content of the event along
with analysing the effectiveness of the host in making the event entertaining for consumers.
1.3. Research Significance
Successful event planning in Glastonbury Festival event will require detailed and
flawless plan execution that can make sure that events run smoothly. As an aspect of
complete along with detailed event program in Glastonbury Festival event the planners must

consider that the possibility of any hindrances or issues those can be faced in the festival
events (Robinson 2016). Focussed on the identified the research problem, the current study
has the significance of explaining the impacts of quality management within the Glastonbury
Festival event Planning. Through carrying out study on this subject, the research provided
several effective managerial implications on improving the quality aspects such as food
hygiene, facilities, price and perceived value. Moreover, the research has the significance of
explaining the quality management strategies those can be implemented by the event planners
in Glastonbury Festival event planning for attaining consumer satisfaction from the event
(Rodin and Braithwaite 2018). In addition, it also explained that the festival event must be
represented to the public as unique through offering an opportunity to observe and experience
something exciting and new that can ensure addressing one of the major quality aspect
needed for successful event planning.
Another important implication of the current research is that the ways in which
evaluation of all the activities within Glastonbury Festival event Planning is necessary in
ensuring performance analysis of all the individuals involved within the event production
including panning staff, venue staff, caterers, entertainers and all the individuals those
tookpart within the execution or planning of Glastonbury Festival event (Ryan 2016). The
significance of the research is also to ensure that analysis is carried out on the ways in which
maintaining event planning quality through inspection of caterers, entertainers, special needs
of guests along with theme set up for the festive can ensure success of Glastonbury Festival
event Planning.

Chapter 2: Literature Review
2.1. Introduction
Anderton (2018) stated that the festivals and events in UK are often employed by the
destinations in order to promote the events image along with offering diverse interests for
attraction among tourists that can stimulate tourism development. It was also gathered that
there has been significant growth in the global festival event industry. Such increased growth
rate along with enhanced consumer awareness has resulted in the need for an efficient

management for ensuring sustainable growth and development (Meretse, Mykletun and
Einarsen 2016). The success of such events is relied on maintenance of the quality
determinants such as programme management, food hygiene, facilities, price and perceived
values. The literature review chapter will focus on analysing the previous researches on
quality management approaches or factors maintained by the Glastonbury Festival event
planners in UK over years and success attained in planning such events. Moreover, it will
also critically evaluate the existing literature on emerging quality management approaches
those are employed by the festival event planners in UK (Miettinen, Valtonen and
Markuksela 2015).
2.2. Concept of Quality Management
Carlson, Rosenberger III and Rahman (2015) defined quality management as an act of
overseeing all the tasks and activities that is required in order to maintain a desired excellence
level in the activities involved. These researchers also agreed that quality management
includes the determination of a quality policy, generating along with implementing quality
assurance and planning along with quality control and improvement. Quality management
makes sure that a company, service or product is consistent and the four major components in
ensuring effective quality management includesquality planning, assurance, quality control
and improvement. A quality and successful Festival Event Planning is a combination of time,
costs and services offered. Clayton (2016) indicated that the total quality management in the
festival event planning necessitates that all the stakeholders within business work together in
order to enhance processes, services along with the events planning culture. These
researchers elucidated that the events planning quality management includes the skill of
developing along with managing a team of individuals in order to attain a qualitative business
objective within a decided time frame and cost that can lead to production of a quality
services or series of events. Collins and Cooper (2017) elucidated that the importance of

festival events planning for generating revenue for the planned events cannot be over-
stated.Quality management services in case of any festival event planning considers regular
site inspection, developing effective event designand concept along with that expert input is
employed to attaining outputs. It is deemed appropriate to suitably review the steps required
to maintain constant quality in planning an event during festivals that is attained through
considering the factors like scope, time and costs compromises quality.
2.3. Quality Management Aspects in Festival Event Planning
Cooper (2017) stated that there are certain quality management aspects within the
festival event planning of are generally focussed on price, perceived value, facilities, Program
management, and hygiene and food quality. These aspects are deemed to have a huge impact
on useful festival event planning. According to Cooper (2017) price is deemed to be one of
the important factors that ensure the quality of the festival events planning. The suitable
pricing strategy decided for the festival event planning must consider the affordability of the
guests, competitors pricing strategies, amount spend on overall planning of festival event, and
through deciding the maximum that can be paid for the food and beverages. Moreover,
perceived value attained by the guests in the festival event decides the quality of the event
taking place. Satisfaction and loyalty and it are high impacted by product quality. Davis
(2016) elucidated that the perceived value is deemed to be the precursor of consumer.
Considering the same, it has been gathered that the consumers those are likely to decide to
pay for the event are the ones those are satisfied with the unique values desired by the guests.
This can include cultural activates and programs, music concepts along with various
innovative festive themed camps for entertainment purposes.
In addition the facilities maintained within the event location also facilitates in
determining the quality of the event planning. In ensuring the exceptional quality the festival
event must include proper waste management and disposal system, regular cleaning facilities

at the time duration of the event and accommodation with adequate food and beverages
supply facilities. It is also ensured by the festival event planners that the Dyer (2018) revealed
that effective program management is necessary in ensuring the quality of the planned
festival events. Moreover, the hygiene and food quality maintained during the course of the
event decides the quality of the festival events. This is for the reason that necessary facilities
offered to guests such as staff service, festival programs content, souvenirs, convenience
along with information availability affects the quality of the festival event planning. Getz and
Page 2016) stated that the food and beverages offered must be fresh and hot along with
having different varieties based on the preferences of the type of gusts arriving at the event.
The festivals are observed to maintain their event quality through attracting huge consumer
base through maintaining sequence of the activities in the festival. This will indicate proper
event management that is indicated through food safety maintenance in the festival events.
Hill (2016) added that in ensuring quality of the event food safety practices are
followed that follows four major steps such as clean, separate, cook and chill along with
offering healthy food alternatives to the guests. The waste management, human sewage
treatment and the disposal systems are regularly monitored along with checking the waste
hauler to realise the acceptable contamination levels for recycling along with organics waste
streams. Hitchings, Browne and Jack (2018) revealed that based on such factors identified
those can impact the quality of the festival events a service quality theory has been developed
in which the guests are considered to be satisfied of their judgement of services that they have
received equals or exceeds from their expectations. This is also referred as gap analysis
theory. Considering same, the festival event planners are likely to develop a primary goal to
offer high quality and satisfying experiences that are perceived by guests to be of good value
in order to maintain their quality of event.

2.4. Background of Glastonbury Festival event Planning
Jones (2017) explained that Glastonbury Festival event is five-days based festival of
contemporary performing arts which takes place near England. Regarded as a vital event
within British culture, the festival is inspired by the culture of people belonging to different
background. The festival is aimed at encouraging along with stimulating the youth culture
from all through the world is its different forms such as music, jazz, drama, theatre, cinema
and poetry. The festival event also includes planning from art and design which encompass
sculpture, painting along with textile art. Kim and Kaewnuch (2018) added that a large area
of the festival event is also set aside for the alternative and complementary medicine, displays
and demonstrations of environment friendly techniques and technologies along with
considering environmental, social and moral issues while planning meets activities. These
researchers also revealed that the planning of the Glastonbury Festival event considers
maintaining quality through organizing exceptional marketplaces along with putting
extensive focus on offering exceptional quality food, beverages along with handmade goods
encompassing jewellery and clothing. Kinnunen, Luonila and Honkanen (2018) identified
that despite of organizing such big event every year successfully and with increased
popularity among people all over the world, Glastonbury Festival event planners are dealing
with issues regarding sustenance of their quality in waste management facilities. Glastonbury
Festival event planners have admitted that they have breached environmental regulations
after they faced after human waste from the event site polluted the nearby river.
Kuijken, Leenders, Wijnberg and Gemser (2016) elucidated that Glastonbury Festival
event is one of the largest Greenfield festival all over the world that is attended by guests all
around the world and the festival is focussed on maintaining public safety through carrying
out risk assessments, public safety management plan, food and drinks outlets control, water
and waste management along with on and off site traffic management and prevention of

public naissance that considers controls on noise, lights and traffics. Laing and Mair (2015)
added that Glastonbury Festival event planners undertakes the annual planning along with
reviews to make sure that the festival event is making an increased effort in making sure that
the licence conditions are addressed. The festival management ensures that events control
centre functionality along with layout is maintained in a way that the crowd management
staffs works efficiently in managing guests.
2.5. Impact of quality management in Festival event Planning
Lamond and Spracklen (2016) revealed that effective quality management is
necessary in festival events planning in ensuring increased consumer value along with
popularity all through the world. These researchers have also identified five major processes
in integrating with the quality management system with the event planning within any
festival. The quality management system in the festival event planning is deemed to maintain
consumer data particularly their complaints and feedbacks that are stored in number of
systems all through the event. Laura Toraldo, Islam and Mangia (2018) elucidated that after
implementing the strategies of event planning along with related activities quality control
measures are implemented by the festival event planners in monitoring and controlling
actions that will be maintained through analysing compliance with necessary quality
standards outlined for ensuring improvement in the processes of the planning. In addition,
these researchers also revealed that total quality management strategy is implemented by
most festival event planning organizations as it can be understood as the strategy to explain
an event planningā€™s quality policy along with procedures for offering services and products of
exceptional consumer value.
Lund and Turris (2017) explained that the quality management value exist in the
festival event planningā€™s capability to support organizations in enhancing their product and
entertainment services reliability, durability along with performance. Such factors facilitate in

differentiating the festival event from its competitors along with ensuing exceptional
consumer perceived values. Luoma (2018) added that different perspectives of events and
festivals such as attendeesā€™ satisfaction from events, perceptions and attitudes of event
organizers and value added services in events and festivals are the major determinants of
festival event service quality. These researchers also developed a service quality model such
as SERVQUAL that includes reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangible. A
similar model was explained by MacKay et al. (2017) for SERVQUAL that includes eight
major dimensions such as conformance, features, durability, reliability, performance,
aesthetics along with perceived quality. These researchers conceptualised event planning
quality of the festivals to include certain vital aspects including professionalism, service
environment and core product. It is also explained by these researchers that maintenance of
the professionalism within the festival event planning facilitates in improving the quality of
the event through maintaining trust, promptness, support, proper execution of all activities in
the event and responsibilities fulfilled by each personnel assigned for them.
2.6. Conceptual Framework
The conceptual framework for the current research of analysing the impact of quality
management in Glastonbury Festival event Planning is indicated in the figure below:
Document Page

PLANNING
Figure 1: Conceptual Framework
(Source: Mair and Duffy 2017)
It is gathered from the framework that improvement in the quality of price, perceived
value, food and beverages, facilities, program management and hygiene of the location can
successfully ensure the successful implementation and planning of Glastonbury Festival
event.
ļ‚· Price- The pricing strategy within the event panning is considered as a major
determinant of its quality offerings and services. This is for the reason that consumers
tend to select the mid or more expensive option as they perceive them to be of
exceptional quality (Mair 2018).
ļ‚· Perceived Value- Perceived value developed by the festival events planning through
offering exceptional services and offerings as per consumer needs is deemed to be a
major determinant of eventā€™s quality that has considerable impact on their behavioural
intentions towards visiting the festival event.

ļ‚· Food Quality- The event food safety practices are followed that follows four major
steps such as clean, separate, cook and chill along with offering healthy food
alternatives to the guests (Mair 2018).
ļ‚· Hygiene- The waste management, human sewage treatment and the disposal systems
are regularly monitored along with checking the waste hauler to realise the acceptable
contamination levels for recycling along with organics waste streams (Mair 2018).
ļ‚· Program Management- In program management a series of activities related with
festival events is managed and organised in improving events service quality.
Through following the program management principles of organising the festivals and
events it has been observed that the festival event planning process can ensure
exceptional quality services. The program management process that ensures festival
event quality includes program scope, brainstorming event venue options and
qualifying them against the requirement list.
ļ‚· Facilities- Facilities offered by the festival event planners are deemed to ensure the
quality of the event and are considered to attract consumers to the location (Mair
2018). Certain value added facilities such as tech supplies, day-of-event
communication on cultural programs along with back house facilities such as food
services persuade visitors to the events.
The presentation along with appearance of the stalls, music events, entertainers,
facilities along with the foods and beverages offered is deemed important as this can facilitate
in offering exceptional perceived value for consumers (Mair 2018). The stalls and the music
event locations must have attractive sketches or artists for ensuring the quality of the
Glastonbury Festival event planning. Maintaining creative and aesthetically pleasing location
and maintaining effective waste management facilities in the event location ensures success
and popularity of the event. It has also gathered from the conceptual framework that the

success in the festival event plans needs a coordinated action plan and maintaining constant
quality management in the festival events planning (Matthews 2015). It is deemed
appropriate to suitably review the steps required to maintain constant quality in planning an
event during festivals that is attained through considering the factors like scope, time and
costs compromises quality.
2.7. Summary
The literature review chapter focussed on analysing the previous researches on quality
management approaches or factors maintained by the Glastonbury Festival event planners in
UK over years and success attained in planning such events. It was derived from analysis of
this section that the quality management system in the festival event planning is deemed to
maintain consumer data particularly their complaints and feedbacks that are stored in number
of systems all through the event.
Chapter 3: Research Methodology
3.1. Introduction
The research techniques adopted include an epistemological positivist stance
depending on knowledge obtained from observed facts. The objective measurement related to
observations has been conducted using research operations, which record data obtained from
analysing information obtained from a mail questionnaire identifying the ways through which
quality management exercises influence on Glastonbury Festival Event Planning (Spotswood
and Whitaker 2017). Positivism might be dependent on the principles of verification,
objectivity and reproducibility; however a realist stance has been undertaken for unearthing
the reality that stays hidden beneath the surface of observations. The additional objective of
the research is to uncover the underlying causal mechanisms explaining the absence or
knowledge of it and use of quality management in the event planning sector. Hence, this

PLANNING
chapter has focused on certain research techniques that have assisted the researcher in
arriving at a suitable inference on the research study (Toraldo, Islam and Mangia 2018).
3.2. Research Approach
Research approach is deemed to be the most important step in carrying out research in
arriving at the actual along with desired research results. Selecting suitable research approach
is important in recognising each step in carrying out desired research activities. Deductive
approach focuses on scrutinizing the available models along with theories associated with
research through seeking help from the gathered data (Wang, Wang and Wang 2019). As the
current research focuses on analysing the impact of quality management in deciding the
success of Glastonbury Festival event planning, the research approach that was selected in
this study is deductive. This is for the reason that the quantitative analysis was carried out the
research. Quantitauve analysis was conducted through analysing the responses attained from
the respondents. Additionally, positivism philosophy is directly associated with quantitative
data analysis within which the data was gathered and analysed by employing analysing past
trends along with existing models (White and SĆ©raphin 2018). For this reason, deductive
research approach has been considered as most suitable in attaining actual research results.
Inductive research approach was not employed in carrying out the research as human
responses have been given the highest priority within the study.
3.3. Research Philosophy
The recent research is aimed at analysing the impact of quality management on
Glastonbury Festival event Planning. For this reason, in the current study the researcher has
made an increased attempt for evaluating the quality management issues faced by
Glastonbury Festival event Planning. Considering the research objective, positivism research
philosophy was deemed t be suitable to be used in this study through associating the theories
and models discussed within the literature review section on quality management

determinants necessary for successful Glastonbury Festival event Planning (Zifkos 2015).
Moreover, as the research has employed survey data collection method, positivism research
philosophy was most suitable in dissecting response from the target respondents. The
researcher did not consider using other philosophies in the study as they are not observed to
be relied on the scientifically proven theories as well as models.
3.4. Research Design
Selecting suitable researcher design facilitates the researcher to attain an opportunity
of guiding the research towards training a specific objective based on the set hypotheses. It
has also facilitated the researcher in offering relevant reference through decreasing the target
results within the remaining part of the overall research was carried out based on the
developed research aim. In the current research of analysing the impact of quality
management on Glastonbury Festival event planning, exploratory research design was
employed in recognising the reasons being the identified research problem (White and
SĆ©raphin 2018). It was majorly focussed on the insights of research that confronted the
research problems. It was deemed suitable to be selected in the study as it facilitated in
defining the issues faced regarding quality in Glastonbury Festival event Planning. Moreover,
as the study focussed on analysing respondents insights on quality management in
Glastonbury Festival event planning, a detailed description of factors impacting the success
of the festival event was revealed through employing exploratory research design.
3.5. Data Collection Process
Primary and secondary data collection process was employed in gathered relevant
data for its analysis on quality management in Glastonbury Festival event Planning (White
and SĆ©raphin 2018). The secondary data was collected from peer reviewed journals, articles
on Glastonbury Festival event Planning, books on quality management and government
publications on quality management by Glastonbury Festival event Planning. This facilitated
Document Page

PLANNING
in gathering data on the current trend of the identified research issue. In addition, primary
data was collected through employing survey technique that facilitated in gaining human
responses on the research subject and the recognised quality determinants in the event. The
primary data can be segmented into qualitative and quantitative data collection. The
qualitative data was not gathered due to time contains, instead quantitative data was gathered
through questionnaire survey technique in which likert scale was used for gathering
quantitative responses.
Questions asked within the survey were focussed on quality determinants such as
programme management, food hygiene, facilities, price and perceived values impacting
success of Glastonbury Festival event Planning. The questionnaire was distributed to the
respondents through personalised e-mails and a timeframe of seven days were provided to
them for reverting on the questionnaire.
3.6. Sampling and Sample Size
Sampling in this research serves as a process through which the targeted respondents
were chosen for accomplishing the research from a larger population. Selecting suitable
sampling technique facilitated the researcher in selecting the most relevant primary data
source for blending relevant information that is aligned with research aim and objectives. In
conducting research on analysing the impact of quality management Glastonbury Festival
event planning, simple random sampling technique was employed. This facilitated in carrying
out survey with the selected guests of the event for the reason that it provided with equal
opportunities to all the respondents to get selected for the study. For this reason, the
quantitative data was gathered through employing the technique of simple random sampling
from a large sample population. The sample size that is selected for the research includes 31
guests arriving ait Glastonbury Festival event. This sample size is selected as for the time
constraints it was not possible to analysed data collected from a huge respondent base. The

PLANNING
guests of the event were selected as they will b able to provide most accurate and detailed
opinion on the quality determinates existing within the Glastonbury Festival event.
3.7. Data Analysis Method
In analysing the data gathered from the target respondents for carrying out research on
the impact of quality management on the Glastonbury Festival event Planning, several
analytical techniques was employed in data analysis. In such consideration, it is also
explained that the data analysis techniques employed facilitated in maintaining transparency
along with conducting interpretation of composed data (Spotswood and Whitaker 2017).
The analysed quantitative data results will be represented in the form of graphs and
tables in order to simplify the respondentsā€™ interpretation process for the gathered data. The
SPSS statistical application has also been employed in converting the opinion of the target
respondents into a specified percentage for anticipating the respondentā€™s trend insight. In
using the statistical tool, correlation and regression analysis was employed in analysing the
relationship between the dependent variable (Glastonbury Festival event Planning) and the
independent variables (programme management, food hygiene, facilities, price and perceived
values). Such data analysis through regression has also facilitated to generate data necessary
for supporting or rejecting a hypothesis. Validity and reliability of the data analysed was
measured through conducting the correlation test.
3.8. Ethical Considerations
In carrying out research on analysing the impact of quality management in
Glastonbury Festival event planning, the researcher will make sure that ethical code of
conduct is followed in carrying out several activities in the data collection process. Secondary
data will be collected from several valid and authentic sources in order to ensure the
trustworthiness of the conducted research (Spotswood and Whitaker 2017). In maintaining

the confidentiality of the research the researcher has ensured that asking delicate quotations
has been avoided in persuading the participants taking part within the survey and their mutual
permission will be attained by the researcher. In addition, the respondentā€™s identity has not
been disclosed because of sanctuary reasons in which no business use of the research
statement will be entertained from the behalf of the researcher. It was also ensured by the
researcher that the study is the sole work of the researcher and it is devoid of any plagiarised
content.
3.9. Summary
From evaluating the research methodologies that will be employed in conducing
successful research on the research subject, it can be summarised that deductive approach
focuses on scrutinizing the available models along with theories associated with research
through seeking help from the gathered data. Moreover, simple random sampling technique
was employed that facilitated in carrying out survey with the selected guests of the event.
Survey data collection method was employed for the reason that it provided with equal
opportunities to all the respondents to get selected for the study. Considering the research
objective, positivism research philosophy was deemed to be suitable to be used in this study
through associating the theories and models discussed within the literature review section on
quality management determinants. In addition, SPSS statistical application has also been
employed in converting the opinion of the target respondents into a specified percentage for
anticipating the respondentsā€™ trend insight.

Chapter 5: Discussion
From evaluation of the regression analysis it is gathered that the dependent variable
selected is festival event program quality through better waste management system and
crowd management and the independent variables were price, perceived value, hygiene, food
quality, facilities and program management. It has been gathered from the analysis f the
coefficients that the relationship between the price and festival event program quality is
statistically significant at 95% confidence level. Moreover, from the regression coefficients
analysis it has been gathered that the food offered in the festival was not of good value as its
relationship with the events planning indicated statistically insignificant results by 0.290
(considering 0.000 as the significance value). Moreover, it has also been analysed that the
flavour and cleanliness of the food offered was not great as its results came statistically
insignificant (0.073). The food served was not hot and fresh at Glastonbury Festival event
Planning as the results was insignificant (0.906). In addition there is lack of proper waste
disposal system as the value derived as insignificant (0.015). The food and plastics wastes
disposal system in the festival event is poor that is gathered from the regression coefficients
that came insignificant (0.661). Variety in the entertainment events and other facilities

PLANNING
identified such as complementary food, attendees available and camping was lacking as the
results derived was insignificant (0.184). This indicates poor festival event program
management system. Necessary consumer values were not adequately offered during the
event as its relationship with quality festival event planning was insignificant (0.846). In
analysing the model summary it has been gathered that the model as a whole is statistically
significant with significant F change value of 0.42 that is less than 1. For this reason it can be
stated that as the F value is less than 1 the null hypotheses is accepted that indicates the
factors identified to be maintained in the festival events has an impact on maintaining the
quality of the event planning.
It was gathered from the respondents results indicated in the graphs that among 32
respondents 12 or (37.5 %) agreed to the recommendation that the festival events program
needs to develop effective waste disposal system along with maintaining better crowd
management process. This can facilitate in improving the quality services offered during the
festival event. It was also gathered from the respondents data that most of the respondents
that is around 43.8% indicate that necessary consumer values was not adequately offered
during the festival event of Glastonbury Festival. It was also gathered from the respondentā€™s
insights that around 37.5% of the participants agreed that that there was not variety of the
entertainment events, camping, and complementary foods along with attendeeā€™s facilities
available for better management of event program. It was also gathered from the graphs that
most of the respondents that is around 34.4% agreed that refuse, sewage was not properly
collected, removed or disposed off safely that has resulted in increased human waste dumping
into the nearby waters and on the event location. The graphical representation of the data
gathered from the survey indicated that around 43.8% of the target respondents stated that the
food along with the plastic wastes were not normally disposed off in the landfills made
nearby the festival events location. It was also gathered that majority of the target

respondents which is around (37.5%) indicated that there was lack of proper waste disposal
system in the Glastonbury Festival events location. Moreover, it has also been gathered from
the graphical representation of respondents insights that 46.9% agreed to the fact that the
flavour and cleanliness of most of the food and beverages in Glastonbury Festival was not
that great that needs to be improved for attaining better quality in the festival event planning.
In gathering such results it can be derived that maintained of all the identified factors
is important in improving quality and proper implementation of the Glastonbury Festival
event Planning. Moreover, the event planners of the festival must also take into consideration
that there was lack of effective waste management plan that had drastic impacts on the
environment. This is also resulting in increased challenges faced by the event planners of
Glastonbury Festival in satisfying the consumers particularly when the requirements of
distinct stakeholder groups are not considered to be same. In addressing such research
