INTRODUCTION
In order to undertake admissions in graduate studies such as medicine and pharmacy,
individuals must possess the necessary technical skills and hands on experience in their CV's.
This project will cover a statement of purpose highlighting the necessary introduction, under
graduation and graduate summaries and work experience needed to secure admissions in the
field of Pharmacy.
MAIN BODY
My name is Muhsin Thottungal and I am a hard-working individual currently located in
England with considerable technical work experience in the field of pharmaceuticals and I also
hold a graduate degree in Pharmacy From Kerala University of Health and Sciences and masters
in Pharmaceutical sciences from Kingston University. I am looking forward to undergoing
further professional growth in the field of pharmacy as I have conducted detailed projects, wrote
and published multiple reviews in this field on complex topics such as PYRAZOLE derivatives
and have worked as well as interned with reputed pharmacies and pharma companies such as
Touchwood pharmacy and Chetna Pharmaceuticals. I would like to pursue graduate studies to
achieve mastery in this domain and channel my expertise and knowledge about pharmaceuticals
in the right direction.
As part of my masters degree program on Pharmaceutical Sciences completed with due
diligence from Kingston University I undertook multiple projects, review articles and research
papers which were very helpful in increasing my knowledge and expertise regarding
pharmaceuticals. As a part of my bachelor's degree, I completed a project titled 'In Silico
appraisal of potent inhibitors of ΒETA-KETOACYL-ACYL carrier protein synthase
iii for Antitubercularagents' and the project which I took on during my master's degree was 'A
Brief study on various Self-cleaning Surfaces'. As a part of my academic curriculum, I also
managed to publish two review articles on 'A brief review on PYRAZOLE derivatives
possessing various pharmacological and biological evaluation in WJPPS' and 'Role of self

cleaning surfaces in current Pandemic situations in IJPPR' in 2021. During my bachelor's degree,
I briefly interned at Modern Pharmaceutical Ltd. For 2 months during which I worked with
scientists and observed the process of medicine making and research closely and was involved in
batch production of different kinds of medicines. The internship was very fruitful as it prepared
me for complex job in the field of pharma by imparting me with practical knowledge about
important processes such as quality control, GDP and GMP.
After the due completion of my bachelor's degree and before I returned back to grad
school for further studies, I toiled hard to gain technical expertise in the field of pharma by
working in multiple establishments learning a variety of skills. I worked as a pharmacist at Retail
Pharmacy at 2 months where I spent a lot of time in learning and advising people regarding their
dietary requirements, identifying common and underlying symptoms of diseases and proper
recommendation of medicines. As it was my first proper job, it helped me learn the basics of
practical application of medicine and how to deal with people on a daily basis. I left this job to
search for greener pastures and for a more technical job role and settled at Chetna
pharmaceuticals where I worked as a quality control analyst for a duration of 4 months. This job
imparted me with skills that are very necessary for a pharmacist such as assisting in quality
management system, creating and implementing pharma protocols and Standard Operating
Procedures (SOP) and doing a variety of lab work. Now I am well equipped to pursue further
studies because both these endeavours have enriched my practical expertise about
pharmaceuticals and my foundational knowledge of this field of study is quite robust.
As a registered pharmacist associated with Pharmacy Council of India since 2018, I am a
a socially responsible individual who thinks that their job is more of a responsibility towards
people rather than a money making avenue. I am very interested in continuing public service and
charity along with palliative care and I have actively volunteered to service the needy in various
care homes. I believe that as a pharmacist, I have a responsibility towards people to guide them
towards an active and healthy lifestyle and I can only do so at a large scale if I have mastery over
the domain of pharmaceuticals which can only come from pursuit of further technical studies.
CONCLUSION
From this above written essay, it can be concluded that in order to secure admissions in
reputable institutions and to further pursue intense academic regimes, it is important to have a
