1PERSONAL STATEMENT ON PHARMACY COURSE
I had a long urge for scientific careers from beginning, I selected science in my secondary
school, and from then chemistry is my favorite subject. Chemistry has taught me about different
disciplines associated with biological substances and molecules, especially the part of organic
and medicinal chemistry. I was interested in all this stuff and wanted them in one subject that has
practical validity with this knowledge. This has led me to choose a subject which is a
combination of all the scientific topics. Then I was familiar with the subject pharmacy in which I
could combine and apply my knowledge in reality. Besides this, I have a desire to help humanity
scientifically. I admit that pharmacy is a fast-developing profession and pharmacists have a
major role in the introduction of new medicines for all types of illness. For fulfilling my aim, I
am pursuing Pharmaceutical chemistry foundation year, which comprises of the subjects like
chemistry, biology, and data analysis. These subjects within the courses have increased me
interested in the pharmaceutical industry and enormously wanted to grow in the same
professional field. I used to gain additional knowledge from my supervisors and other people
associated with the pharmaceutical industry about the current trends and future opportunities.
I have a work experience at Manchester Pharmacy for two weeks which is priceless.
There I acquired detailed knowledge about the preparation of drugs. I came across many generic
names and their brand names. I performed many responsibilities such as making up prescriptions
which includes finding, checking and appropriate dosage of the required medicines. The
knowledge gained has made me more interested in my course, and it led me to do multiple
research on my leisure time about the multiple generic drugs. I used to study multiple
pharmaceutical companies with multiple brand name of a single generic drug. Working in the
pharmacy has provided a real-time experience that had included multiple responsibilities. Some
of them were checking and maintain the stocks of essential medication or drugs, and

communicating with patients by assisting the basic requirement. Although I was more into the
observation, I had understood the overall operation of the Manchester pharmacy and gained
effective knowledge from my supervisor.
Along with this, I have experience volunteering in the British heart foundation that helps
to reinforce my communication and teamwork. The golden opportunity to work in the British
heart foundation had a great impact on my life. I have worked in a team with very professional
and intelligent team members. Working in a team has helped me in understanding the importance
of coordination and works with shared vision or objectives. I have excelled in my interpersonal
skill because of effective communication within the team and with other key stakeholders of the
British heart foundation. It has boosted my confidence in effective communication and building a
rapport with other individuals in delivering the responsibilities.
For this purpose, I want to continue a pharmacy course to enhance my knowledge and
acquire a practical skill which will help me to go in the long run. I am therefore pretty excited
and looking forward to starting my course here within six months.
