VIABILITY
By conducting this research, the researcher will enable to analyses the impact of
physical abuse on children and determining the ways to prevent children from
abuse. This will helpful in preventing the issue and also help the NGOs and other
care professionals to prevent children from abuse. So, in this context the research is
viable and provide various advantages to parent, care givers as well as the child
who suffer abuse.
PERFORMANCE REVIEW
The research process and literature review that I conducted during preparing
project proposal has had positive impact on my learning. After this, my knowledge
and skills are improved and I am enable to conduct for the study on the topic. By
performing literature review, I learnt so many things about the topic. It not only
improves my knowledge on the topic but, also help me in gaining knowledge on
other areas also. At the time of reviewing the literature, I faced some difficulties
initially as I had not any knowledge about which source is authentic or which is
not. I did not know about which source I need to consider to review. But then, I
take help from my seniors and the guided me appropriately which helped me in
conducting literature review in proper way. The issue that are faced at the time of
review was identified timely and resolved at the same time which helped me in
performing my roles effectively. During conducting literature review, i identified
that I have weak research skills and communication skills on which I need to work
upon. I also identified that I have analysing skills which helps me in performing
task appropriately. For improving my weak research skills and communication
skills, I will undertake different sessions of professionals to improve my
communication and research skills.

AIM
Research aim is defined as the primary goal for overarching purpose of the study
or research project. It expresses the aspiration or intention of investigation and it
is a summarised sentence that depicts what the researcher hope to accomplish at
the completion of research study. The aim of project is “To analyse the impact of
physical abuse on children with special needs”.
OBJECTIVE
The research objectives are referred as the milestones that helps in accomplishing
the aim of research (Meyer and Vadasy, 2014). It concisely defines what the
investigation is trying to accomplish. These objectives provide direction to the
overall study and help researcher in accomplish the aim of the project. In context
of this study, the objectives of research are as follows:
To understand the concept of physical abuse.
To assess the impact of physical abuse on children with special needs.
To determine various ways to prevent children with special need from
abuse.
RESEARCH QUESTION
Research questions are the crucial element of research that are set out by the
researcher in project to answer them (Lipkin and Okamoto, 2015). These are
specific and complex enough to provide detailed answers of what research intent
to achieve. In context of this study, the research questions are mentioned below:
What is the concept of physical abuse?
TITLE: “Physical abuse on children with special needs"
BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE
Physical abuse is referred as any intentional act or action that cause trauma or injury
to other person through the way of bodily contact. Children's are often become the
victim of physical abuse but in case of workplace aggression or domestic violence,
adults can also become the victim. This impacts adversely on the mind as well as
health of children with disability. In the public health framework, child
maltreatment is being understood increasingly. Children with special needs are
abused more frequently in comparison to the children in general population.
Physical abuse can lead the children to suffer from various issues (Daly, 2014). It
causes stress that leads to disruption in in early brain development as well as it can
impair the development of immune and nervous system. As a consequence of this,
the risk for children is increased in terms of their physical, behavioural and mental
health issues like depression, smoking, obesity, alcohol and drug misuse, being a
victim of violence etc. It is the responsibility of parent or care giver to provide
appropriate care to such people which specific needs who suffer abuse and ensure
that never to blame them for anything.
This project is based on the title "physical abuse on children with special needs"
and it intends to analyse the impact of physical abuse on children with specific
needs. It covers aim, objectives along with research questions. Apart from this, the
proposal covers different research methods, ethical considerations, proposed
timeline and plan, proposed outcomes and viability of research. At last performance
review is provided in which the influence on own learning and practice are
discussed. Conducting study on this topic is significant for researcher as this helps
in determining the concept of physical abuse and its impact on mind and health of
children with special needs. It also helps in determining the different ways through
which child with special needs can be prevent from physical abuse.
How physical abuse can impact on the children with special needs?
What are the different ways to prevent children with special need from
abuse?
METHODS: Research methods are referred as the processes, techniques or
strategies that are utilised in collecting data for analysis to develop better
understanding regarding topic or uncover new information. Different types of
methods are used in the research that use distinct tools for collecting data. These
methods help in conducting the research in systematic way. the three type of
research methods include qualitative research, quantitative research and mixed
methods research. In qualitative research, investigator will gather non numerical
data about lived behaviour, experiences and emotions as well as the meanings that
people attached to them. Use of this method will enable researcher to get better
understanding regarding cultural phenomena, social interactions or complex
concepts. In quantitative research, numerical data will be gathered by researcher
that can be measured, ranked or categorised by statistical analysis. This research
method will help investigator in uncovering relationship of patterns and making
generalizations. It is useful for finding how much, how many, how often or to what
degree. The another one is mixed method research in which both the qualitative
and quantitative research integrates. It is a holistic approach of integrating and
analysing data or information with deep contextualized insights. It also allows
verification or triangulation of data or information from two or more than two
sources (Peckover, 2014). In context of this particular research, quantitative
research method is used as it emphasizes on objective measurements and
numerical, mathematical or statistical analysis of information on data collected
through questionnaire, surveys and polls or through manipulating pre-existing data
by utilising computational techniques. Using this method will allow a researcher to
reach a higher sample size and collecting information quickly through the use of
ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS
There are various ethical considerations in research that required to consider by
researcher while conducting the study. It is very important that ethical issues are
considered at the time of performing research or during the formulation of plan.
It is very necessary to take informed consent of participants which means they
should be fully informed about the research, purpose of conducting it and other
areas. Its purpose is to enable participants to take an informed decision regarding
whether to participate or not. The another ethical issue that may face by a
researcher during research is confidentiality of data. It is necessary for the
researcher to ensure that the identifying information is not accessed by anyone
(Sousa, 2016).
PROPOSED TIMELINE & PLAN
In order to ensure successful completion of project, around 15 weeks will be
required. The estimated cost for successful completion of project is around 150
pounds. In this research, adequate amount of human resource is required so that
all the activities of research can be conduct properly. It will be ensured by the
researcher to complete the research on time within the provided financial
resource. Apart from these resources, some other resources are also required in
the research including pen, paper, internet, etc. in order to complete the research
successfully within specified time frame (Were, Kioli and Kurgat, 2014).
PROPOSED OUTCOMES
By conducting this research, researcher will able to accomplish the aim of
project successfully. It will help in gathering large amount of data on the topic
and determine the impact of physical abuse on children with special needs.
