As per my opinion attributes of physical appearance of men and earnings are interrelated
elements and this has been proven from the previous research papers. In my opinion, physical
appearance carries high and equal weightage in men’s life as other attributes such as knowledge,
skills and talent carry. Thus, there is a strong relationship between physical attributes of men and
their earnings. I have analysed from the previous research papers that it is necessary for every
man to dress well because appearance have significant impact within the society as it makes a
man attractive (Anthony, 2012).
In this course, there are numerous ways which I have determined while analysing the previous
assessments that physical appearance attributes have direct and strong relation with men’s
earnings. Physical appearance is the foremost thing through which one can be recognised one.
Physical appearance attributes include height, body and shape of an individual and along with
these attributes, dressing sense is another crucial factor which plays vital factor in terms of
physical appearance. Every human being is unique from each other, thus, physical appearance
also differs from each other. I have realised that some people are short in height while some are
tall, no one is similar to each other but still, everyone needs to face criticism regarding their
physical appearance and mostly those people are judged who does not have attractive
personality. Due to this type of criticism, confidence of people decreases which makes them feel
like they are incapable of achieving something in life (Mahajan, 2007).
It has also been reviewed that employees at the workplace also faces various types of unfair
practices such as racism. At workplace physical appearance carries equal weightage as other
attributes such as knowledge, talent, etc. carries. Thus, it is necessary for the employees to dress
well and behave like a professional at workplace. I have realised the significance of professional
attitude in work life. This plays vital role and it is often said at the workplaces that “first
impression is the last impression” and this statement also works outside the workplace. When a
person goes for interview, he/she is specially asked to dress well according to the professional
dress code along with being neat and clean so that first impression over interviewer could be
positive (Thomas, Silverman & Nelson, 2015).
I have learnt from previous executed researches that being at workplace, an employee should
carry positive attitude in order to handle all the challenges, issues and tasks in an appropriate
manner. This will help the employee to gain positive outcomes along with setting an effective

and positive image at workplace. Apart from this, dress code which is another crucial factor for
men’s physical appearance is an essential element of physical appearance. It needs to be strictly
followed by men especially at workplace. This attribute shows the attitude of employees towards
job and following dress code in professional life makes men disciplined and it becomes easy for
the employees to set up their effective image along with a positive impression on colleagues as
well as on the management. Along with the dress code and positive attitude to tackle challenges
and issues, it is required for the employees to maintain and develop positive body language so
that the assigned tasks could be accomplished in an effective manner while negative body
language will lead to generate negative results (Mahoney, 2013).
As per my opinion and on the basis of information obtained from previous assessments, an
employee should have leadership skills, willing to work in team, showcasing courageousness
along with effective communication skills. All these attributes helps an employee to enhance its
earnings along with the attainment of growth for future. The more an employee will be
interactive with teammates, the more he will be able to learn from others along with sharing his
information with others. Exchange of thoughts is really important and an employee should have
appropriate communication skills so that he could be able to communicate with its superiors in
relevance with his ideas and for other purposes as well. With regards to the relationship amongst
physical appearance and men’s earning, it can be said that both are interlinked and until men will
not adopt or follow certain qualities, rules and standards for being a professional, earnings will
not be increased because men’s earning is dependent on various factors such as physical
appearance, attitude towards job and the knowledge, talent and skills for performing the duties
(Judge & Cable, 2004).
In future also physical appearance will play crucial aspect for every individual and with an
effective and impressive physical appearance; an individual is treated as more sociable. In my
opinion, appearance act as the most crucial factor for an employee in order to present himself as
an impressive personality in front of the society. People with personality, no dressing sense and
with no grooming sense are treated as losers in this society. When a candidate goes for interview,
there are lot of attributes which are being tested by HR managers to find the compatibility of the
candidate as per the requirement of vacant position. Physical appearance is one of those

attributes which are considered by HR managers along with testing the communication skills,
knowledge and skills as per the requirement of the job (Taylor, Bogdan & DeVault, 2015).
It has been reviewed by me that when an employee communicate with a member of superior
authority, the foremost factor which play vital role in creating a positive impression is the
physical appearance i.e. dressing and grooming sense of the employee. If employee is not
dressed well as per the professional environment, employee will not be able to develop positive
image in front of the superiors and then high skills, knowledge, talent, and other relevant factors
are also not considered. Thus, it is required for the employees to gain appropriate knowledge
regarding workplace’s rules, regulations and other standards which needs to be followed. This
will help the employees to make them appropriate as per the organizational requirements, while
other factors such as knowledge, skills and talent required for performing the operations of
organization could be learnt in the training and development sessions. But with regards to
improving dressing sense and making a positive impression, not much training sessions are
provided. Thus, it is recommended to the employees to follow all the conducts in relevance to the
organizational requirements along with the basic code of conducts as all these will directly help
the employees to gain appropriate opportunities for enhancing their earnings (Lindlof & Taylor,
2017).
