AI Summary
This report addresses common physical health issues faced by mental health consumers, focusing on conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and cancers. It explores the interplay between mental and physical health, examining the impact of these conditions and their prevalence within the mental health population, considering factors such as age, eating disorders, and schizophrenia. The report critically analyzes the literature, highlighting key influencing factors such as stress hormones, antipsychotic medication, and unhealthy lifestyle choices. It then evaluates various interventions and evidence-based practices, including primary health care, psychosocial interventions, ecotherapy, and functional family therapy, offering recommendations for their improvement and effective application in the care and management of mental health consumers. The report concludes by emphasizing the interconnectedness of mental and physical health, and the need for comprehensive strategies to address these co-existing conditions.

INTRODUCTION
Common health issues or physical health problems are the related to the inappropriate
functioning of body such as cancer, heart diseases, diabetes, infectious diseases (Gonzales, &
Henning-Smith, (2017). Obesity and so on. Person with the mental illness posses the higher
chances of chronic physical illness both are they of co-existing factors. Both mental and physical
health get impacted by the inappropriate body functioning and emotional changes. This report is
for the study of different physical health conditions face by the mental health consumers and
what are the further more impact of physical health conditions on mental health consumers along
with the evaluation of their prevalence. Different intervention and evidence based practices are
going to be evaluated with in the application of appropriate literature review techniques and on
the basis of evidence based study effective recommendation is going to be illustrated in context
to the best care and management of mental health consumers.
MAIN BODY
Overview of physical health conditions in context to mental health consumers
There is the fundamental relationship between physical and mental health, individual
which the serious mental illness are at the higher risk of chronic physical issues (Jones, (2017).
Opposite to that people with chronic physical health conditions can face the huge problem of
mental illness due to the worst factors developing from physical illness such as depression and
anxiety (Townsend, M. C., & Morgan, K. I. (2017). So there is the major chances of co-existing of
mental and physical conditions which can destroy the life of patient. There are some common
physical health issues explain below which co-existing with mental health illness.
Heart disease- This is related to the heart functional problems this can be either coronary
heart disease, high blood pressure and stork. In context to the mental health issues influence
major issue is stroke and high blood pressure.
Factors influencing the prevalence of heart disease under the mental health condition
Mental health illness contribute to the abnormal level of the stress hormones secretion
which increase the heart rate. Mental health consumers can face the issue of abnormal heart
rhythm due to the consumption of antipsychotic medication. So all these factors contribute to the
development of severe heard disease.

Diabetes- This is the type of physical health problem, cause by the dis-functioning of the
pancreas and glucose processing function. At this condition individual body stop producing
insulin or stop processing glucose (Hoeft, T. J., Fortney, J. C., Patel, V., & Unützer, J. (2018).
Factors influencing the prevalence of Diabetes under the mental health condition
There are the various factor which contribute to the development of diabetes among the
mental health consumers. It has been analysed that depression are the risk factor for the
development of type 2 diabetes. Because it effects the body resistance to insulin, high cholesterol
level and obesity are the major influencer of diabetes which can increase among the mental
health consumers due to the consumption of some Antipsychotic medication (Woo, Ho, Tang,
(2020).
Cancers- This is the type of physical condition at which some selective cell of the body
producing abnormally and impact the whole body. Bowel cancer is the type of health issue
mostly diagnosed in the UK. This also known as the rectal cancer (Carlisle, K., (2018).
Factors influencing the prevalence of Cancers under the mental health condition
From some studies it has been illustrated that there is the higher rate of cancer among the
mentally ill individuals. There is the major chances of bowel cancers and gallbladder. So all
theses chances of cancer is link with the high-fate diets which usually take by the mentally
person.
Critical analysis and review of physical condition prevalence and impact on mental health
Key factors influencing the prevalence of selective conditions
As per the Canadian mental health association review data (2021) it has been analysed
that there are some key factors of mental health illness, prevailing the physical conditions among
the mental health consumers (Eeren, H. V., and et. al., (2018). Such as the production of the higher
stress hormones which contribute to the chances of heart problem. Then another factor is
Antipsychotic medication which is influencing the cases of both diabetes and heart problem. It
causes fluctuation in heart rhythm and it cases the high cholesterol level and obesity due to
which it posse the risk of diabetes. Abnormal behaviour and bad eating habits of the depressed
person cases the consumption of high fact diet which can case bowel cancer (Garland, E.L.,
(2020).

things. This is the situation of life long treatment and medication of this case treatment can case

(2019).
Intervention and evidence based practices for those conditions
On the basis of evidence based research process from the health care data such as
research journals and current health care report it has been analysed that one of the most
important intervention is primary health care which can helps in the pre control and
management of both physical and mental health issues. Psychosocial intervention is another
intervention which involves the multiple techniques and informational activities by targeting the
biological, emotional, social and environmental factors within the objective of better health
functioning. Ecotheropy and Functional Family Therapy is another intervention which can be
use in place of medications (Arjona-Fuentes, and et. al., (2019).
Recommendation of the evidence based practices
Recommendation for the betterment and improvement of the selected practices is that
practices is can be modified and improve with in the aid of innovative research and development
(Stockwell‐Smith, G., Moyle, W., & Kellett, U. (2018). Such as the biotechnological research is can be

medication. Primary health care is the best intervention and it can be further improves with new
innovative and evidence based practices. Such as primary care is can be work more effective and
five appropriate results with in the application of new testing kites and appropriate precautions
for primary symptoms of health issues (Runions, and et. al., (2020).
Primary health care- This intervention is involving the prevention and pre-cure of the
symptoms by crating the mental and physical health awareness. This intervention is best as it
helps to prevent the causes of health care issues. But this need to be more informative with brief
information of health care issues and precautions for its prevention. These services is not
sufficiently provided to every one so there is need to make it bigger to reach all of the population
(American Psychiatric Association (2020).
Psychosocial intervention- Psychosocial intervention is the type of practice which
involves the implementation of different treatment and behaviour management techniques. Such
as the structured counselling, motivation activities and so on. This intervention has to be more
effective in terms of stimulating social participation of patient to prevent the isolation and try to
make changes on abnormal behaviour. It should be more better for patients education and
psychosocial growth.
Ecotheropy- This is the type of intervention which should be suggested to the patient
and help them out heal their mental issues and improve their mental conditions for better
physical life. This involves the psychosocial therapy of the patient at natural area or location.
Such as the medication, playing and educational activities at natural place like garden. It can be
more effective by developing the more knowledges related to the nature and mental health.
Through which an appropriate techniques is can be develop for the ecotherapy (Wang, H., and et.
al., (2019).
Functional Family Therapy- One of the best mental health control and physical
conditions prevention practices recommendation is family therapy. This is type of short term
prevention intervention which offers the home family counselling. This done with in the
implementation of three practices. Such as the engagement and motivation, behaviour change
and generalization (Linardon, and et. al., (2017).

CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been concluded that mental health and physical health
conditions are interrelated to each other and co-existing. Because emotions and functional
changes of body can case both mental and physical illness. The major physical conditions
develop among the mental health consumers is heart problem, Diabetes and Cancers which is
can be cause and prevailing by some mental health factors such as the high-fate diets , high
cholesterol level and obesity, abnormal heart rhythm due to the consumption of antipsychotic
medication and so on. Schizophrenia, Eating Disorders, adult mental health consumer are at the
higher risk of chronic physical health conditions. There are various intervention which can be
use for the prevention and control of all these situation with some more improvement are
