INTRODUCTION
Crisis management basically refers to the process by which an organisation deals with
unexpected event and disruptive nature which threatens to harm the stakeholders or an
organisation. In the present report, a theme is taken into consideration which is Pakistani Airlines
of international level(PIA) Fake licenses/ Air Crash. According to this theme, it has been
observed that fake licenses is not just issue of Pakistani international airlines but also spread
across the entire Pakistani airline industry(Abbasi and et.al., 2021).In accordance with Abdullah
Khan it has been observed that some of the fake pilots also fly for foreign carriers. The present
report will cover discussion about communication in crisis and also about examples of crisis. In
addition to this, the report will cover analysis about crisis analysis and also about story telling.
Moreover, the report will cover discussion about boundary spanning and CSR as well.
MAIN BODY
Communication in a crisis
According to this theme, it has been observed that government of Pakistan has cancelled
the licenses of pilots who were flying with fake credentials and authorities also probe that in
which manner they obtained the certificates through unfair means. This situation has been arised
in that condition when there is gap in communication regarding the proper checking of
documents of pilots. According to this theme, the names of fake pilots were not made into public
in order to avoid any negative impression about other pilots which include those who are
working outside Pakistan. The statement given by the Abdullah Khan is also the part of result of
the investigation done on the Plane crash in Karachi (Ahmed and Nawaz., 2015). When pilots
don't have proper training for flying the plane then it will automatically result into plane crash. It
has been observed that this major issue is basically the result of crisis in the communication
factor. So its very important to have proper communication among different departments of Civil
Aviation Industry. If there is no proper communication among higher authorities then it will
result into big chain of fake Pilots who start working in all over the industry of Pakistan
International Airlines.

Example of Crisis
According to the theme, it has been observed that the fake license situation has lead
towards shortage of Pilots within the Aviation industry. Due to shortage of Pilots, it becomes
challenging for Pakistani International Airlines to manage the flights into effective manner and
within the time frame as well. According to this crisis, the industry has to bear a large amount of
cost for it as well because they have to focus on recruiting new Pilots so that flights can be
managed into result oriented manner(Ali and et.al., 2015). Within this crisis situation, the
industry has to face situation of plane crash as well due to which this industry has to face large
amount of loss as well. In order to create a Green peace situation, the International Pakistan
Airlines have to make a proper plan and strategy for recruiting and checking procedure of Pilots
every aspect so that they can overcome from this situation in a very fast pace manner. On the
temporary basis, they can take support system from other third parties or other airlines who can
work for them until this situation has been resolved into result oriented manner. It is necessary
for the airlines to find out the solution into fast pace manner so that they can come back to
normal situation into practical manner.
Analysis of Crisis
According to the analysis, it has been observed that there were around two hundred sixty
two pilots in Pakistan who hold the fake licenses as they have never appeared for exams at
personal level. According to this theme, it has been observed that these pilots had paid someone
to sit for the exam on their behalf and also they don't have experience for it as well. It has been
analysed that this problem has spread in all over the industry of aviation which will also result
into plane crash in Karachi. Within this crash, around ninety seven persons had died in this
accident(Ali, H.,2015). The situation is very difficult and challenging which needs to be
handled in a very specified manner with result oriented actions. This crisis also created negative
impression up to a certain extent on the whole industry of aviation due to which it affects the
performance of other employees working within this industry. As it is a good news for the
International Pakistan Airlines that this scam has been came into open environment due to which
they can take appropriate decisions for further future of this industry of aviation. Although this
situation is very problematic to find a way from the analysis perspective.

Story telling
According to this theme, the main problem is about the fake licenses hold by pilots and
then it lead towards air crashes where many people have died due to this incident. It has been
observed that around two hundred sixty two pilots in Pakistan have fake licences who have never
appeared for exams on personal basis. Ghulam Sarwar Khan also quoted that these pilots did not
take the exams by themselves instead of that they had paid someone to sit for the exam on their
behalf (Cook., 2020).It has also been observed that while in the checking procedure they don't
have flying experience as well. Spokesperson Abdullah Khan of Pakistan has also said that fake
licences is not just a issue of Pakistan International Airlines but also spread across in the entire
industry of Pakistani Airline. He also quoted that some of the fake pilots have been flying for the
foreign carriers as well.
Boundary Spanning
Boundary spanning basically refers to the ability to set course, dedication and alignment
across boundaries which includes vertical, horizontal, demographic, stakeholder and geographic.
In context to International Pakistan Airlines, it is basically an effort within an organisation which
involves activity that is aimed for bridging one or more recognised boundaries at organisational
level in order to facilitate the information flow across such boundaries (Siddiqui and Abdullah.,
2018). The airlines have to make proper boundaries from third parties and external interference
at the professional level so that no one can do illegal activities at professional level in any aspect
within the industry of airline. For instance, the fake licences is basically the result of interference
of outside people which has not been taken seriously at the time of recruitment of pilots within
International Pakistan Airlines. So in this manner, boundary spanning helps the airlines in order
to protect themselves from any kind of illegal activity.
CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility)
Every airline has to follow corporate social responsibility into positive manner so that
they can maintain proper relationship with their customers. Pakistan international airlines has
been instrumental in terms of bringing latest technology and ideas in the forward manner which
shares the same with other cores of life in the country.

The airlines has various community and educational programs which contributed in terms
of education of young people and also support in terms of building a better world where
individual can play a constructive role within the society. There is a flagship corporate social
responsibility centre of Pakistan international airlines which is named as Al-Shifa that had
started as social welfare which is in the collaboration with civil aviation(Virdee., 2018). It
further converted into Al-Shifa trust in the year of 1981. This trust has run a special school and
rehabilitation centre which provides special education, rehabilitation services and therapies to
around hundred indoor children which is mostly belong from humble backgrounds as well.
Pakistan internal airlines also involves in horticulture which provides seasonal flowers for the
purpose of display in Pakistan International Airlines offices and also contributes into context of
greener Pakistan through active participation in tree plantation campaigns.
CONCLUSION
The above stated report concludes that airlines have to be aware in terms of recruitment
of Pilots at the professional front. This is a very important step because Pilots majorly hold a
very big responsibility of many passengers who are flying from one destination to another so its
very important that Pilot should have proper experience for it into positive manner. It has been
concluded that Pilots who hold eligible licences have proper experience of flying the plan and
they can also handle critical situation into very effective manner. It has been determined that
Pilot should properly pass the examination so that they can become eligible pilots and can
minimise the situations of plan crashes as well. Although it has been observed that some crashes
has been happened due to technical errors but from safer point of view pilots should have proper
experience for it as well.
