Situation analysis is a collection of methods that an organisation uses to analyse their
external and internal factors and helps to draw a business strategy for this organisation
(Wheelen & Hunger, 2017); (Blackwell & Eppler, 2014).
Industry – Pizza falls under Quick service restaurant category. Though demand and delivery
of pizza are increasing rapidly, still many companies cannot capture world market. People are
consuming more fast foods over the 5 years. Restaurant industry of Canada creates around
$80 billion annual sales (McLaughlin & Dicken, 2016). Hence, it is very profitable to build a
pizza industry in Canada because demand of restaurant foods and fast foods are very high.
Competitors The biggest competitors of a new pizza company are Fresh slice Pizza and
Domino’s Pizza. Domino’s pizza already captures international market. There are also many
regional and local companies, who are already making and delivering various types of pizzas.
Company The Pizza-More Company is a start-up company, which has started its business
2017 with 50 employees. Its first outlet is in Grande Edmonton in Alta. The company will use
good advertisement and social media to communicate with its customers. The company will
launch different types and shape of new pizzas to attract people. The company will hire those
people are very good to their customers.
Customer Consumers all over the world eat pizza. Hence, there is no regional boundary for
pizza. Mainly students or young age people, age 18-35, eat pizza because of their fast life and
they are not so much health conscious. The company will start its business in those parts of
Canada, where number of population increase is large and people have high or average
standard of living. These places may be Grande Prairie, Edmonton, Lethbridge in Alta, and
Saskatoon in Sask.
