PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The course of project management was very informative and interesting. I have gained a
thorough knowledge about the different phases and activities of project management and the
importance of the proper project management in successful completion of the project. The
concept and area of project management is quite large and I have tried to learn the basic concept
of all the components of project management.
I have understood the importance of development of team charter and planning sheet in
project success, I am knowledgeable about the process of development of team charter, and
planning sheet, Furthermore, I gained a proper knowledge about the identification of project
scope and project stakeholders. However, I am still learning to properly plan and develop the
work breakdown structure of the project.
I have understood of the importance of the communication management plan in a project
and I know how to develop a communication matrix and communication management plan. I
have a good knowledge about estimation of project duration and development of the resource
assignment matrix, which is important for proper estimation of the resource required in a project.
Apart from this, I have a basic knowledge about the importance of risk register in a project. Risk
register helps in identifying risks and developing the risk mitigation plans for eliminating the
project risks.
However, I have a very little knowledge about the development of network diagram,
which is an integral part of the project. I want to fill this gap by learning the tool used to prepare
a network diagram for the project. Apart from this, I have a very limited knowledge about the
development of a quality management plan and performance-reporting plan that are essential to
track and supervise the project progress. I need to learn about the project integration
management and development of the contingency reserve for the project. These are the key
concepts of project management and therefore, it is essential to have a proper knowledge about
these components of project management. I want to fill these gaps in the knowledge areas of
project management before graduation.
In order to fill in the gaps, at first I will learn to use the MS project software more
accurately so that I am able to develop the work breakdown structure of a project more
appropriately. This will further help me in proper scheduling of all the project task and activities
associated with a project. Apart from this, I will thoroughly study about the process of
development of a quality management plan that will further help in assuring the best quality of
the project. A proper knowledge of all the project management tools such as network diagram,
work breakdown structure, resource matrix and so on is important for successful completion of a
project and therefore, earning a proper knowledge about the same id of utmost importance.
Before, graduation, I will make sure that I take proactive measures in acquiring this knowledge
by undergoing a proper research and extensive learning in the field of project management.
