INTRODUCTION
Plagiarism means using others works and knowledge for own benefit without asking
them and without their valid consent. This report will outline the meaning of plagiarism, its
relevancy in academic writing and types of plagiarism. Further it will outline the plagiarism
related to academic and integrity relevant to professionalism. It will also outline the ways for
avoiding plagiarism and improving academic writing and professionalism with business setting.
MAIN BODY
Plagiarism and types of plagiarism
Plagiarism refers to the system in which others knowledge and work is used by the
person for its own benefit. It includes all work whether published or unpublished. It is relevant in
the academic writing as person can write its own ideas and knowledge without copying from the
other ideas (Roka, 2017). It makes their ideas different from others by not copying their
knowledge. It makes the writer creative in their academic writing.
Types of plagiarism.
Direct Plagiarism: This means copying the ideas and knowledge by taking the same
words without changing anything in that matter. Copying someone data is very unethical and
may result in offense.
Self-Plagiarism: It means copying of own words and work without the consent of the
head authority. Like submitting the same projects with same words and work without consent
which makes dishonesty in the academic field.
Accidental Plagiarism: It means when writer accidentally or without intention of copying
that works write that words than the writer has done plagiarism (Shkodkina and Pakauskas,
2017). It is basically done when the writer did not rephrase the words, not change any quotation
marks and citation in the data written.
Paraphrasing: In this type of plagiarism writer takes the ideas and key points from the
other's content and after using different words and punctuation marks restructured that sentences
and add on some lines and act as their own writing without using of his own mind.
Verbatim Plagiarism: In this type of plagiarism the person directly copy paste the data
without stating that the data is copy paste from the taken source.

the internet. As every topic is available on the internet the person can directly copy paste the
content for his own use. It is a type of cheating done by the person by copying anyone ideas and
knowledge and using it for own. But it can be detected that who is doing plagiarism on the
internet and make the writer know about their content.
Academic plagiarism and academic integrity relevant to professionalism in business environment
Academic plagiarism means copying of the content from the students to get the good
result in their assignments. If the students are felling that they will fail, and they are not
interested in making the projects then they copy paste the projects from the other sources and
submit.
Academic Integrity plays an important role in creating the trust and honesty between the
employees and other people around them. By having academic integrity, it creates an ethical
work in the business (Fatemi and Saito, 2020). Good academic integrity in the professionals
helps them in making the better decisions. It makes the place of the employees ethical by having
academic integrity in them. Academic integrity helps the employees to do stress free work by
which it increases their seal-confidence. If the employee is writing any content from the taken
source without giving citations it will make the unethical behavior of that person in the
professionalism. For example, if the person is writing the data or content from any other ideas
and knowledge than he must give the citation from the source he has copied that data. It will
make the author know that his written content is used by that particular person.

Cite your source: If the content is taken from any other source the writer must quote the
name of the taken source and must give a citation that identifies from where the data has taken.

Include quotations: If the writer is taking the sentences from the other source or from
others content than they must write that sentences in quotation mark which helps them to avoid
their content as plagiarism.
Paraphrasing: It means writing of the content by taking ideas and knowledge from the

plagiarism in the business. At the end this report describes the ways to avoid plagiarism like by
citing the source, by using quotations etc. and some improvements while academic writing that
use good vocabulary, use active voice rather than using passive voice.
