INTRODUCTION
Academic misconduct is attempt of gain academic advantage through unfair action
which likely to sabotage the academic integrity in the students of university in the assessment
they are submitting. Plagiarism a practice of stealing someone else idea or work and presenting it
as one's own work is one of the academic misconduct (Setiani and et. al., 2020). To avoid such
plagiarism and academic misconduct among the students behaviour towards the work and
assessment provided by the instructors, Academic integrity should be learned and taught to the
students in order to protect the work of own and to avoid any unethical practice by the students
which is hindering there performance and knowledge. Therefore a game is designed to develop
the knowledge of academic integrity and to avoid plagiarism and academic misconduct. This also
outlines the importance of academic integrity in university and skills of the individual used to
produce a game.
MAIN BODY
TASK 1
Design a game for students that develops strategies for avoiding plagiarism and academic
misconduct
The issue of plagiarism and other academic misconduct is rising day by day in the
students of the university which in turn reducing the morality and honesty of work in the
students. Avoidance of plagiarism and misconduct is so important in students because it is an
unethical practice and can be recognized as the action of theft (Kier, 2019). Plagiarism
compromises the integrity of work in the students and also deficit them from knowledge and
learning. It is observed that students learning outcomes are fast through games, therefore to
foster the academic integrity in universities the following game is designed including factors to
develop strategies to avoid plagiarism and academic misconduct. The game designed is as
follows:
Plagiarism Captcha (PC): Plagiarism Captcha is a online, interactive and fun game designed
for the students to gain the knowledge and learning related to academic integrity and aid them to
avoid plagiarism or any kind of academic misconduct. The main characteristic of the game is that
it recognise the grounds of the students in terms of academic honesty and morale in their work

and also help in avoiding any unethical practices to gain academic advantage (Batooli and
Fahimnia, 2018).
Structure and model of Plagiarism Captcha
Structure and working of Plagiarism Captcha
Structure of the game is divided into three segments and each segment consist of two
questions with six options as an answer. These answers contain the specific points like 20, 10,
40, 50 till 100. Answer selected by the students will grant them with a specified points to win the
game (Monu, Boughzala, and Zhang, 2018). The structure is designed in such format because
purpose of the game is to teach and learn the students within three subjects and at the end of the
an instant feedback is provided regarding the overall score of the student and method to improve
performance. The three segments are: Avoid plagiarism segment:This segment consist of the questions related to the topics like
what is plagiarism, why to avoid plagiarism, disadvantage of plagiarism, how to avoid
plagiarism etc. This segment will help the student to develop strategies to avoid the
plagiarism and also make them aware about the consequences of the plagiarism in the
work. No to academic misconduct:This segment will contain the questions related to the topics
like, definition and types of academic misconduct, penalties and consequences of
academic misconduct etc. this segment will benefit the students in teaching them to avoid
the academic misconduct and imply the ethics and discipline in the work with respect and
responsibilities (Cavaliere and et. al., 2020). Importance of academic integrity: This segment will put the questions related to the
importance of academic integrity in university, role academic integrity in the students
work and learning and in the roles of teachers, academic integrity factors, advantage of
academic integrity etc. to nourish the habits and lifestyle of the students and teachers
towards the ethics and fairness in the work and roles.
Model and designing of the game
The model, design and looking of the game is attractive and creatively crafted to catch
the students interest willingly. The working of the game is easy, less time consuming and
efficient to make students learn fast towards the purpose of the game. The game is named
Plagiarism Captcha because it catches the actions and instincts of the human regarding the

plagiarism and how to avoid plagiarism (Ewing and et. al., 2019). One example is presented
below with one question regarding avoiding plagiarism method with the model of the game
which is divided into two sections at top there is section containing question and at below six
colourful boxes with answers.

CONCLUSION
Hence, it is highly observed that games like Plagiarism Captcha are appropriate way to
feed the students with academic integrity and make them learn to avoid plagiarism and any kind
of unethical misconduct in their academic work.
