PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is the phenomenon which depicts the copyright rules and regulations
regarding the textual documents that are the copying or using another person’s intellectual
property without any consent of the person or recognition of that person or source. The
intellectual property can be included with ideas, original authorship, design, inventions, words
and even quotations. Hence, it can be highlighted that the plagiarism is an unethical process of
using intellectual property of a person or author or an organization as well (Ananth, 2019). The
recognition of the original works should be considered for avoiding the unethical practice of
plagiarism. However, it has been seen that the plagiarism can be found in words as well for
avoiding the little risk of copyright act or intellectual property theft. It can be stated that the
plagiarism can be marked as the cyber crime as well as this is prominent in the field of textual
contents and found in the internet mostly. The act of deliberate intellectual property theft can
lead to financial fine of imprisonment as well (Masic, Begic & Dobraca, 2017). Hence, in terms
of avoiding the plagiarism risk the following strategies can be considered:
Recognition of the original author or source through citing the authorship in the
document where the idea or the quotation has been used.
Rephrasing the sentence or the words with the same idea depiction along with recognition
of the source.
Using plagiarism checking tools to avoid any kind of risk prior to submitting the
document to any database.
Using quotation indicating the source text with proper citation of the authorship (Masic,
2019).
