INTRODUCTION
Learning activities are designed as well as developed by teacher to bring out or create
condition for learning. For an educator it is essential to select appropriate learning activities which
should be as per the requirement of students (Hofer and Harris, 2019). This report will going to
discuss the way staff may contribute to planning, delivery and review learning activities for
supporting teaching and learning. Along with this, information will elaborate which needed to know
about children you are supporting at the time of learning activities as well as essentialness of these
information for planning lesion also discuss. Moreover, suggestions will be given to the teacher about
your role supporting learning activities. Furthermore, indoor and outdoor learning environment will
highlight with reflection on own learning practices.

1.1 How support staff may contribute to planning, delivery and review of learning activities for
supporting teaching and learning.
Support staff carries some major contributions in redefining the manner in which learning and
reviewing activities are carried out in an institution. The support staff working with a teacher can
provide valuable feedback and suggest some approach which may lead to better learning. Below
mentioned are some of the methods and approaches given by Pie Corbett which can be further used to
enhance the learning for the students in UK schools.
Talk for writing: This is one critically acclaimed approach focuses on imitating the language
which is required by the student. The attempt is generally to identify whether student can start a unit
on the basis of their previous learning or not. The information or the amount of knowledge which has
been presented by the students determines the manner in which they will be taught or dealt with
during the class sessions. The role which can be fulfilled by support staff in this approach is that they
can understand the manner in which children learn and then can further provide the information to the
teacher (Soko, Setiawan and Widodo, 2019). This approach has been proven effective when it comes
to speeding up the learning progress in students.
Joint Composition: This is another method which focuses on enhancing the collaboration
between student and teacher so as to achieve higher learning. It is responsibility of the teacher to
establish a right balance between persuading to form ideas and at the time evaluating the same. The
support staff in this method can assure that there is right and productive environment which has been

offered to students. Support staff can further make sure that there is appropriate participation of the
family and parents in education so to achieve progressive learning.
Guided Writing: This practice can be encouraged by the support staff in teaching mechanism.
The teacher through this method is persuaded to elaborate upon the activity and provide with
appropriate information so that students can make genuine efforts. The right set of model and toolkit
can be further provided by support staff so that it leads to right results

and why this information is important when your planning lesion
It is important to known several things about the children we will going to supporting during
their learning activities. Explanation of these are as follows :-
 It is important for educator to know about the student which includes there everything
background, interest level, ability to work in group, prior knowledge, learning experience,
social need or accommodation and learning preference. Because providing proper learning
session will be only possible when teacher know each and everything about student.
 Along with this, it is also important for educator to see which type of learning activity will be
beneficial for students. Moreover, they should have to focus that indoor or outdoor which
learning environment will be beneficial and provide assistance in effective learning.
By gaining information about children it will become easy for teacher to design planning lesson in
effective manner as per the requirement of each and every student.
1.2 (2) What type of suggestion could you offer the teacher about your role supporting learning
activities
There are various ways to inculcate learning abilities among children’s as it helps in increasing
the knowledge base and skills and also boost their memory. This help them to increase their
performance and also aids in completing their home work in a proper period of time. The same is
presented as follows:
Provide outdoor activities: It is necessary to develop a sense of belongingness by encouraging
children to participate in various sports or events so as to create positive relationship with them. It
reduces the boredom and also bring various learning habits among them.
Celebrate success: It is necessary to recognize the achievements of students so that they could
bring effective results and thus inculcate confidence and sense of trust among them. This ensure the
best performance on part of students and thus provide excellent results. This inspire them and
therefore, increases their performance.

Visualised learning: If children are provided with visualised learning then it could help them
to retain for long period of time. This can be done through smart classes or images and so on that
create interest and provide positive environment and boost the memory power.
Encouraging students to share their ideas: It is essential to motivate students so that they
could share their ideas, opinions and to appreciate them so that they could work with confidence and
with greater interest. This removes the hesitation and also provide them with active learning and also
help in achieving good grades in the class.
Effective planning: The teacher could plan an effective activity in an around 15-20 minutes as
it reduces boredom and also enhance the creative skills of students. This boost the confidence and thus
improves their overall performance in the class.
3.4 Barriers when supporting learning activities and how to overcome these barriers.
There are several barriers which faced by individual while supporting learning activities and it
is important to overcome with these barriers for conducting entire learning as well as development
session in effective manner. Explanation of these are as follows :-
 Unorganised planning – If lesion providing to learning session don’t have proper planning as
well as staff who are involved with activity not aware with their role result in confusion during
lesion. This simply means that learning lesion will not go inflow and may disturb learning of
children. For preventing this it is important for the entire team member to be aware about the
activities and also support and assist in providing sessions as expected. Thus, it is important to
do planning before children entire within classroom and before they start learning activities.
 Insufficient resources – Most of the activities are designed or set by teachers which require
several resources such as pencils, exercise books, crayons, scissors, rules, glue and many
more. In some situation there are not enough resources available for students which delay in
starting learning activities. So it is important to located as well as prepare resources before
beginning of lesions and also ensure that available resources is enough for class.
 Student with English as their second language – In classroom some students are bilingual
where English is not their mother tongue which creates barriers in learning activities. Such
type off students requires extra support for understanding meaning of words. If students are
bad in English it is important for educator to provide them things like flash cards as well as
labels on the things for assisting them in learning. Teacher can also encourage some more
extrovert and friendly student to be their friends who will help them.
 Coordination among educator - If teacher or educator don’t have coordination within each
other it may create difficulties for students in learning things in effective manner. Because
every session will provided by different tutor so it is important to have proper coordination.

3.5 How to support learning in different environment indoor and outdoor environment
Learning is the procedure of acquiring new or modification within existing, skills, values,
knowledge as well as preferences. There are two different learning environment i.e., indoor
environment as well as outdoor environment. Explanation of these are as follows :-
Indoor environment – It is the environment which have direct as well as immediate impact
on the quality of children learning and development. Indoor environment for an children is more
comfortable, interesting, appropriate, attractive and help in their proper development. In simple term it
can be said that, for children indoor environment become like second home as they can eat as well as
sleep there. But it is important that indoor environment in which learning practices implement have to
be attractive and children feel safe, happy and secure to be there as well as it is place where children
can play confidently and learn several things. Moreover, indoor space of learning should be planned
carefully as it should be flexible for accommodating changing interest as well as needs of children’s.
Most important is that resource which utilise for children should be of good quality and books have to
be attractive. Resources like blocks for building with, felt pens, chalks or pencils for mark-making,
clothes for dressing up in as well as small items such as cars, dolls and jigsaws should be accessible
by children themselves.
Outdoor environment – Through outdoor learning children gets enormous benefits because
they can access to outdoor space on regular basis except worst weather (Hofe and Harris, 2019).
Moreover, being outdoor allows children to move around without many of restrictions of being inside.
Outdoor environment is not beneficial for learning only it help in physical improvement of children
also such as fill their lungs with clean air. In comparison of indoor learning outdoor is more beneficial
because children learn through feeling and toughing things.
5.3 Reflect on own practices in supporting learning activities
I will motivate children’s by giving examples of ideals and promote practical learning so as to
increase their moral values. This help them to inculcate learning abilities and improves their
intelligence level by developing a comfort environment. Also, I would pay attention towards their
weaknesses and appreciate them so that they could complete their home work on a daily basis. The
most important is that to promote outdoor activities as it increases the confidence level and also
provide an effective learning to them as it accelerates the performance. I will encourage students and
enrich the study with colourful diagrams and charts, posters or models to bring a creative learning in
them. One of the most effective method is to decorate the classrooms so as to avoid boring and also
create a warm and stimulating environment. The four different ways to support learning activities are
presented as follows:

Encourage them to participate: this could be done by giving various opportunities to students
in many ways so that it develops a sense of positivity and allow students to respond with different
strengths as it inculcates learning abilities in them.
Develop self-management practice: By equipping students with practical skills and to manage
their own performance as it helps to develop positive attitude and thus provide growth opportunities
among them.
Promote active listening: This is one of the effective methods which help children to inculcate
learning abilities and also boost their confidence. Hands on activities are regarded as one of the best
ways to aids them to acquire learning skills and promote a comfort atmosphere among them.
Provide models: Modelling helps the students to increase their skills faster and more
efficiently. By watching their model, important academic and social skills we can forecast their
interest in different extra curriculum activities and thus encourage them to participate.
CONCLUSION
After going through above discussion it has been summarised that, Learning activities are
designed as well as developed by teacher to bring out or create condition for learning. For an educator
it is essential to select appropriate learning activities which should be as per the requirement of
students. In learning activity of children’s supporting staff play major role as they provide assistance
in development of children within appropriate manner. Furthermore, it is important for teacher to
know each and everything about children before making planning lesions. Apart from this, there are
several barriers which individual face while conducting learning activities and for them it is essential
to overcome with these for conducting overall learning session in effective manner. In addition to this,
there are two type of environment i.e., indoor as well as outdoor which utilise by teacher for making
children more comfortable and learning things in effective manner.
