RESEARCH QUESTIONS
The main purpose of conducting this research is about to conduct analysis of associated hazards
of plastic use over the life of common people. It includes the main criterion of evaluating the
problems and harmful aspects which are relevant to utilisation of plastic. However, it is
necessary for people to know about negative effects of plastic in terms of affecting nature and
their own lives. It is essential for identifying various of types of harmful effects that are caused
by using plastic in daily life (Kumar, 2018). It is favourable to make citizens ware about these
critical facts which are necessary to encourage them for avoiding plastic and use alternative
products for similar needs to carry something. In addition to this, it has been analysed that there
are various kinds of severe impact are observed which are extremely poisonous for natural
creatures which are necessary to maintain the overall ecosystem and food chain. It is observed
that plastic use is very poisonous for Earth as it is responsible for developing problems for birds
and animals. Meanwhile, it has been analysed that many of aquatic animals face issues because
they get tangled between plastic products which create several difficulties of these creatures. It is
observed that human being have to put effective efforts in order to release animals like fish,
crocodiles, octopus, tortoise etc. It is necessary to carry out research in context of hazards related
to plastic use which helps to motivate citizens to avoid plastic because it is harmful for nature
and destroying nature ends with the criterion of destroying humans.
On the other hand, it is required to gain knowledge about different plastic products along with
harmful impacts to avoid them. Plastics were mostly used for making bicycle helmets, child
safety seats and airbags in automobiles. It includes the use of manufacturing of televisions,
computers, cell phones and other electronic products which are used by people in daily routine.
Meanwhile, plastic can be defined as substance that is prepared for last forever, yet 33% of all
plastic is used in manufacturing of bags, straws, water bottles which are just utilised for a once
and thrown away (Alam, Billah and Yajie, 2018). It had been analysed that plastic is a material
which cannot be biodegradable due to which it harms the more natural atmosphere including
birds, animals, small creatures and human being. It is necessary for people to adopt alternative
methods at the place of using plastic in order to save environment as well as human life of Earth.
However, plastic is responsible for affecting the heath of human beings as toxic chemicals leach
out of plastic are found in blood as well as body tissue of people. It is determined that exposure
to plastic material impact negative on human health as it is associated with various complicated

diseases such as cancers, birth defects, impaired immunity, endocrine disruption and other
ailments. Moreover, plastic use is harmful because it is a non-biodegradable substance which
cannot be destroyed and reduce cleanliness of different public places. Access garbage of used
plastics is responsible for developing various pathogens like mosquitoes, flies and other insects
that develop infectious disease among citizens (Mourshed and et. al., 2017).

INTRODUCTION
Plastic can be defined as material that contains various kinds of synthetic and semi-synthetic
organic compounds. It includes number of plastics which are used by people on their daily
routine to fulfil their needs. Initially, it consist polythene terephthalate (PET or PETE or
polyester) which is called wrinkle free fibre and used for packaging of food & drinks in
supermarkets. Secondly, high density polythene (HDPE) containing long virtually branched
chains and used generally as grocery bag, opaque milk, juice container, shampoo bottles and
medicine bottles. Thirdly, it consist the use of polyvinyl chloride (PVC)that is utilise for
manufacturing of toys, blister wrap, cling wrap, detergent bottles, loose leaf binders, blood bags
and medical tubing (Arı and Yılmaz, 2017). In addition to this, the other types of plastic is low
density polythene (LDPE) which is mostly used by citizens as carry bags while buying
vegetables, fruits etc. from market. Meanwhile, polypropylene (PP) is known as stiffer and more
resistant material towards heat which is used at wide range by people for hot food containers.
However, the other plastic is polystyrene (PS) that is a Styrofoam which is utilised in respect of
food containers, egg cartons, disposal cups & bowls, packaging and bike helmet. Moreover, there
are various kinds of plastic that are used for different purpose among people to fulfil various
needs. It is necessary for human beings to understand about the harmful effects of using plastic
and avoid the same to save Earth from its poison. It is favourable to use containers of wooden
and other material which are biodegradable to save life and natural atmosphere of the planet.
On the other hand, it is necessary to analyse number of harmful impact of using plastic which
impact positively to encourage citizens to strictly avoid plastic. It includes different ways in

which plastic affects environment which is not suitable for human beings, birds, animals and
other creatures surviving in the planet. Basically, plastic is ubiquitous which consist that it
founds everywhere from Arctic to Antarctica which is responsible for clogging the street drains
in cities and it litters campgrounds along with parks that develop difficulties for people. It consist
the attempt of people in regards to dump their all trash nearby rivers and lakes due to which
oceans are full of plastic which is increasing day by day. This results into the fact that plastic is
eaten by aquatic animals and may leads to death of them. Meanwhile, it has been analysed that
plastics can be consider as one of the main products of fracking because it is a bad attempt which
results into pollution of water, soil and air with toxins. It is responsible for developing cavities
underground which collapse into sinkholes that raise pressure in underground rocks. It will
facilitate destabilisation the formation of rock and leads to earthquake even at those places where
this disaster is not common (Eagle, Hamann and Low, 2016). However, plastics are accountable
for killing human beings as well as other living beings of Earth because it may leads to death of
various animals. It is observed that many of street roaming animals like dogs, cats, cows and
even several birds eat plastics from garbage which leads to their death. It is observed that around
270000 tons of plastic is floated on seas at global level which are accountable for threatening 700
marine species approximately. In addition to this, it has been analysed that overall plastics are
not able to recyclable and not all recyclable plastic is recycles. It is necessary for people to
understand about plastic which can be recycled then they should only the same for essential
needs. Meanwhile, it has been examined that plastics is capable to survive in most harsh
conditions and it’s destroying is not possible.
Research Aim
Main aim of this dissertation is “To analyse the associated hazards of plastic use over life
of common people”.
Objectives of the Research

BACKGROUND
The hazards of plastic use on society
The plastic hazards are very important to be assessed in order to avoid its use on daily routine.
As per views given by Chaukura and et. al. (2016), it includes main problem of developing
pollution which create toxins in atmosphere that are responsible for generating several health
problems. Initially, plastic never get destroyed because it is not a biodegradable product which is
mostly observed in form of water bottles, straws and carry bags that is around 33% of overall
plastic used by people at global level. Secondly, it consist the negative effects of plastic on health
of people as use of plastic facilitate leach out of toxins from plastic which is found in blood and
tissues in human body. It includes the fact of causing various severe diseases such as cancers,
birth defects, impaired immunity, endocrine disruption n dither ailments. Thirdly, plastic is
responsible for spoiling groundwater because toxic chemicals drains under water bodies with
plastic and seep into groundwater that get flow downstream to different rivers as well as lakes.
However, the plastic has harmful impact on atmosphere because it has an anility to attract other
pollutants due to presence of chemicals such as flame retardants, bisphenols, phthalates and other
harmful compounds that are accountable to make it rigid or flexible. These chemicals can be
considered as oily poisons which repel the water and stick to petroleum based materials like
plastic debris.
On the other hand, it has been analysed plastic is known as a toxic chemicals which is
responsible for harming not only humans but also threatens the wildlife potentially. According to
the opinion provided by Wang and et. al. (2016), it is observed that wild animals get entangled in
plastic products or they eat plastic products by mistake or feed their young ones which make
them ill for a long time and finally leads to death, the wild animals get diet and species get
extinct day by day which is increased by use of plastic. However, the another harmful impact of
using plastic is that it has an ability to piles up in the atmosphere as most of the plastic get
discard which either get into landfills, burned or become litter. Meanwhile, it includes plastic
poisons out food chain because the tiniest creatures known plankton also intake micro plastics
and absorb their toxic compounds. It results into displacing the large which is very important for
sustaining of larger sea life who feed on them. In addition to this, plastic has a disadvantage that
it costs billions for its manufacturing to abate from which everyone get suffered such as

recreation, business, the health of humans, animals, fish & birds and tourism because of
pollution created by plastic. It has been examined that the economic destroy is continuous way is
being inflicted which is inestimable. However, the society gets suffered due to throwing of
plastic garbage everywhere which facilitates increase in populations of infected mosquitoes and
other insects. It will develop the problem of increased health problems like malaria, plague,
diarrhoea, and dengue and so on. Moreover, the atmosphere become poisonous due to which
intake of air through nose facilitate inhale of gaseous toxins which can create respiratory issue
like asthma and emphysema.
The impact of plastic use over life of common people
The various kinds of toxic chemicals are involved in manufacturing of plastic which get released
in human body which are founded in blood stream and tissues. Crawford and Martin (2020),
states that it has been analysed that it is responsible for developing different complicated health
problems in order cancer, birth problems, respiratory issue and other impairments in body.
However, plastic is accountable for developing pollution related to soil, air and water which
make water bodies and land poisonous due to which crop cultivation get reduced. It is observed
that water bodies get damaged which develop blockages in sewages and other draining pathways.
These are responsible for increasing various infectious insects like cockroaches, bugs, flies,
mosquitoes that create various health problem among communities.
