Plastic Waste Management's Environmental Impact: UK vs. China Report

1. Report Title:
The title of the investigation is “ How plastic waste management affects our environment. A
case on UK and China
2. Business Context:
Now a days, Plastic waste management has being most essential part of businesses in
developed as well as developing countries which support them in performing their operations
in a manner that leads to reduction in negative influence over the performance. In addition to
this it also support countries to get benefits in term of environmental safety from pollution or
other consequences along with the economical growth in term of producing new product from
that of waste item. As compare to UK, China is consider as biggest importer of plastic as a
result of which plastic waste and its influence over the environment is also very high.
Therefore, by maintaining proper plastic management practices it become easier for the
country like China to reduce its negative influence over the environmental performance.

“To determine the affect of plastic waste management over environment.” A case study on
UK and China.

Literature review is defined as the process of evaluating the information which is already
being published by some another person and now their view points are being used to present
the information for developing more understanding.
 The role of plastic waste management in environment :- According to the view

point of John Papiewski, 2019, the plastic materials usually take centuries to break
down when they get discarded by people as they block the landfills and also
overburden the facilities of waste processing. This in turn affect the fertility of the
land which cause major issue to crop and other related practices. Therefore, plastics
waste management is very crucial for the safety of environment as by turning the
bottles, polythene, packaging and other particles be converted into useful goods with
the help of recycling practices as it will brings up economic opportunity by bringing
up new or innovative product to market,.
 The basic impact of plastic waste over environment in UK and China :- As per the
view point of Richa Agarwal, 2018, businesses and manufactures in UK are paying
more attention toward recycling of plastic as the landfill of England has moved up to
12 million tonnes of waste as market in 2016 which is affecting the environment
badly. As a result of which UK government is pressuring the businesses to involve
recycling practice for achieving sustainability and economic growth. On the other
hand according to Li Jing BLOOM AP, 2015, China is facing issue like increase in
pollution which is caused due to increasing plastic use as it reached up to 30% of
plastic pollution which is clogging the world's ocean. Therefore recycling practices
are being started by several businesses which in turn improving the environmental
condition of China which is crucial to maintain for healthy life.
 The main importance of plastic waste management for UK and China :- According to
Raymond, 2018, recycling is the process of gathering used material and then prepare
to reuse it as a raw material for creating a newer product. This recycling process is
crucial for both the countries i.e. UK and China as it support in protecting the
environment from the increasing plastic pollution which help in contaminating the
earth as the plastic bottles, bags etc. results into sea fills, environmental issues and
pollution which may affect the natural resources that are crucial for the survival of
people such as forest, sea etc.
5. Method of Inquiry:
In order to successful accomplishment of an investigation it is very crucial for a researcher to
consider right tools and techniques so that information can be presented in more effective
manner that support in accomplishing the objectives behind study. Following are the tools and

techniques used in this investigation,
Data collection:- There are basically two sources used for gathering the information for the
proposed investigation that are primary and secondary. In order to conduct this investigation
both primary and secondary investigation will be used in which primary data will be collected
using questionnaire while secondary information will be gathered with the help of literature
review where authors' view point will be gathered from books, journals etc.
Type of investigation:- The investigations are basically of two type such as qualitative and
quantitative which decide the basic structure of report. This investigation will be based on
qualitative mean of investigation as it help in gathering and presenting information in more
detailed manner by making use of theoretical framework which support in making reader
more clear about the investigation and its findings.
Data sampling:- For gathering the primary information with the help of questionnaire,
sampling will be done which involves a selection of group of people that provide information
on behalf of whole population of UK and China. The sampling will be done using
probabilistic approach under random sampling method where respondents will be selected
without any kind of bias behaviour. The respondents for this report will be 100.

There are number of ethical issue that might be faced by the researcher while conducting this
investigation which includes informed consent, confidentiality, honesty, respect of privacy of
respondents etc.
