Final Project Due Wednesday, December 7, 2016
Case Summary
Prepare a three (3) page (minimum) case summary of two (2) cases (minimum) which support the
type of case you choose to represent in your final project. The summary must also include one (1)
case which may hurt the type of case you choose to represent in your final project. NOTE – a
minimum of tree (3) cases will be cited in your memorandum. Case Summary must also include at
least two (2) statutory references. Case summaries will be prepared as a memorandum to a
supervising attorney (not the instructor.) Formatting must include the following elements:
• Font: Arial or Times New Roman 12
• Line Spacing: 1.5
• Margins: 1 inch all sides
• Memo Header: Same Font as Body in Bold Type
• Properly Formatted Case Citations
• Properly Formatted Statutory Citations
• Numbering: All pages except first page of memorandum
Trial Graphics
Prepare and submit two (2) trial graphics which support the case you developed through the
fact chronology and histogram.
• The first graphic will be created using MS PowerPoint (eight [8] slides minimum).
• The second graphic will be created using your choice of the CaseMap Histogram feature; TimeMap;
MS Excel Chart; Students may choose to develop graphics in a program of choice.
• Trial graphics will be printed for your portfolio and submitted via the P:/ shared folder.
Email Memo
Prepare a three (3) paragraph memo status report for the case you are using as your final project.
Memo must contain one statutory reference and one case reference (Yes - you may reference a case
used in your case summary.) Email must be prepared as a memo to your client, with a clear subject
line. Formatting must include the following elements:

Your email memo to client will be printed from your sent file for submission in your portfolio and
submitted via email to
NOTE – memo will be the body of the email, NOT an attachment.
Personal Evaluation
Each portfolio will include a two (2) page (minimum) critical assessment of your portfolio and
learning process. After you have collected your entire portfolio, review each individual section. Your
summary will state your perception of your level of performance and what in the portfolio reflects that
grade.
This is not a time for modesty or for unreasonably high estimates. The point of this exercise is
being able to critically and accurately self-evaluate - a key skill for development, regardless of your
chosen profession.
What does your portfolio say about your application of knowledge gained this semester?
Remember to include what grade you believe your portfolio has earned as well as the supporting
arguments (note the plural reference) for your proposed grade.

Grade for Portfolio Will Utilize the Following Scale:
A: Outstanding work in all areas - Shows excellent depth of thought and understanding of
concepts from readings and class assignments. Demonstrates clear ability to integrate a wide variety
of concepts and theories. Excellent organization of the portfolio.
B: Good work in all areas, with excellent work in some areas. Shows thought and understanding
of concepts from readings and class. Demonstrates ability to integrate some concepts and theories.
Good organization of portfolio.
C: One or more areas need additional work to reflect quality. Demonstrates use of some of
course concepts and readings with little integration. Good to poor organization of portfolio. Ordinary
work relative to classmates.
D: Portfolio is missing any key required component. No integration of course concepts. Poor
organization of portfolio.
