1MANAGING GLOBAL PROJECT
Analysis of the personal attributes important to the project manager for managing
global projects:
Some of the personal attributes are important form the project manager for managing
the global project. One of the main attribute is the good communication skill. If the project
manager is a good communicator he or she can communicate with people from all levels
which is important for understanding the requirements of the project (Patanakul, 2015). Apart
from that the project manager should possess leadership skills so that he or she can lead the
team properly. The team members can discuss their problems with the project manager
regarding the development of the project.
A good manager should be a good decision maker. The right decision during the
critical time for the development of the project can lead the project to deliver the proper
outcome. The manager has to take the right decision under the pressure. Apart from that a
good project manager should have the proper negotiation skill and team building skill so that
the flow of communication in the team is present (Meng & Boyd, 2017). The proper
negotiation process help in the progress of the project. Apart from that the clarification of the
requirements can be achieved from the right negotiation process.
A good manager should have the domain knowledge of the ongoing project
(Kononenko & Lutsenko, 2018). In this case, if any team member get stuck while the
implementation of the functionality in the project, that respective member can get help from
the project manager.
Appropriate method for the selection of the project and the processes:
The success of the project is dependent on the selection of the project methodology
and the process it is following. The method for the project is selected based on the type of the
project. It has been seen that the selection of the right methodology can help the project to get

through the right processes. It has been seen that all the project methodology follow certain
project compilation steps (Joslin & Müller, 2015). However, the approach of the different
methodologies are different. The difference in approach has made different methodology
appropriate for the different projects. In this context, it can be said for the construction
project the application of the PRINCE2 methodology is appropriate (Kononenko & Lutsenko,
2018). On the other hand for the small project, waterfall model is appropriate. However, for
managing the complex software development, it is necessary to adopt the agile methodology
as the waterfall model does not provide feedback path and the methodology is rigid in nature.
I have worked for a software development project. From that context, I can say that
we have started to continue with the waterfall model. However, we have realised that
managing the dynamic requirements may not be managed through the waterfall model. Apart
from that the possible outcome of the system was needed to be understood. In this situation
the prototype of the system was needed to be made. We have adopted agile project
management methodology as it supports the creation of the prototype of system that will
represent the possible outcome. Apart from that daily meetings were done regarding the
development of the project.
