The topic discussed in the week 8 lecture session deals with
identification and use of PM application system and how it assists all the
project managers to monitor the performance of the project and manage
changes within a project. I have come to know about the different
project management application areas. I have also realized that in order
to successfully implement any project it is mandatory for the project
manager and project team members to put focus on different knowledge
areas such as communication management, procurement management,
quality management, schedule management, resource management, risk
and schedule management etc.
If any of the project knowledge area failed to come under focus by the
project associates then the project will not be able to meet the
objectives within assigned time and budget. In order to avoid any intra
team conflict and financial issues before initiating the project, a
feasibility study and feasibility analysis needs to be conducted by the
project finance manager.
I have learned that, the phases need to be followed for closing the
program include plan updates, performance reporting, program budget
closing etc. However, appropriate tools and technique are also essential
for program and project success. I have learned the importance of
procurement management plan in project success. It would help to
address all necessary product and service development activities and
