1. INTRODUCTION
The paper mainly reflects on the PMP20008 coursework that mainly focuses on the
initiating and planning of projects. The main of the project is to reflect on the
participation of the course by determining the lessons learnt and by properly considering
the actions which are taken for addressing the lessons as well as improving the future
study projects. In this specific project proper focus in on the framework of lessons learnt
as well as on the lessons that are generally learnt while undertaking the entire course. In
addition to this, the paper also reflects on the improvement strategies that are utilized for
improving the problems that an individual face while undertaking the entire course of
PMP20008.
2A. LESSONS LEARNT: FRAMEWORK
2.1 How I planned to gather and document lessons learnt
When I planned to
identify and collect
lessons learnt
Who I planned to involve
in the process of
gathering lessons
How I planned to
document lessons
When the PMP20008
course started, I planned to
determine the important
lessons that I will learn
from the entire course.
I planned to involve other
individuals who are also
involved with the same
coursework and are
learning the procedure of
project initiation as well as
planning
I planned to make weekly
reports in order to gather
information regarding the
lessons that I have learnt
from this entire coursework
2B. LESSONS LEARNT: FRAMEWORK (CON’T)
2.2 What actually happened?
When I identified and
collected lessons learnt
Who I involved in the
process of gathering
lessons
How I documented
lessons
When I started collecting
the lessons that I have
learnt from this course, is
during the end of the
PMP20008 coursework
and it has not happened as
I am planned earlier.
I involved my team
members within the
procedure of gathering
lessons so that lessons
that are generally learnt
can be properly
documented for future use.
The lessons are
documented in the form of
report as well as in the
presentation slides.
3.1 LESSON 1
Document Page
1. Situation 2. The situation made me
feel…
3. What I learnt from
reflecting on the
situation
While I was involved with
the course of PMP20008, I
was unable to
communicate my ideas as
well as thoughts properly
and this is one of the major
challenges in properly
managing the project work.
This situation generally
makes me frustrated as I
was unable to present my
points before others which
is quite challenging if I get
involved with any type of
real project.
After reflecting the situation
properly, I learnt that it is
quite necessary to improve
my communication skill by
engaging in audience
discussions as well as by
avoiding relying on
different types of visual
aids.
3.2 LESSON 1: IMPROVEMENT STRATEGY
1.
Improvement
strategy
2. How to
measure if the
strategy
works
3. Why the
strategy is
achievable
4. Relevance
of strategy to
address the
lesson
5. When the
strategy will
be
implemented
The specific
improvement
strategy that I
have used in
improving my
communication
skills is getting
involved within
group
discussion so
that I can be
able to get
confidence in
presenting my
point in front of
others
(Andersen,
2016).
The strategy is
working or not
is generally
measured with
the help of the
performance
improvement
as well as with
the results of
group
discussion in
which I was
involved.
This strategy is
achievable for
me because I
am capable of
learning new
things and
therefore, I am
confident that I
can be able to
learn from the
new
improvement
strategy.
This strategy is
mainly relevant
to lesson 1 as
lesson 1
reflects the
communication
problem that is
faced by me
and it is
identified with
the help of the
improvement
strategy the
problem that is
associated with
communication
can be reduced.
The strategy
will be
implemented
within 2 months
for resolving
the problem
that mainly
occurs due to
improper time
management.
Proper
communication
plan must be
developed in
order to
implement the
strategy such
that the
communication
related issues
can be resolved
(Hornstein,
2015).

While I was involved with
the course of PMP20008, I
analysed that I am not
capable of managing the
work that I do and as result
I face delay in completing
the project. As this course
reflects on initiation and
planning of project where
the entire focus is on time
management, it is quite
challenging to face delay
related problems.
This situation made me
sad as I am unable to do
time management properly
and as result I was unable
to complete the work on
time and improper time
management is one of the
major issue which can
raise problems in my future
projects if I will not be able
to make the necessary
improvements within the
entire project.
After properly reflecting
this particular situation, I
learnt that it is quite
necessary to focus on time
management. In order to
improve the skills of time
management, it is quite
necessary to track the
work that are completed for
making sure that they got
completed on time.
Moreover, preparation of
plan will be quite helpful in
managing the project time.
4.2 LESSON 2: IMPROVEMENT STRATEGY
1.
Improvement
strategy
2. How to
measure if the
strategy
works
3. Why the
strategy is
achievable
4. Relevance
of strategy to
address the
lesson
5. When the
strategy will
be
implemented
The specific
improvement
strategy that is
mainly used by
me is to make
proper plan
before
executing the
work so that the
time for that
specified work
can be met
(Kaiser, El Arbi
& Ahlemann,
2015).
If the work gets
completed as
per the planned
time then it
helps in
reflecting that
the strategy is
working.
The strategy is
generally
achievable as
time
management
generally
comes with
practice and I
am sure that I
will be able to
manage time
properly.
This strategy is
generally
relevant to
lesson 2 as it
will be helpful in
minimizing the
problem that is
associated with
time
management. It
is found that
with the help of
this particular
improvement
strategy, time
can be
managed
effectively and
the issues that
occurred due to
improper
management of
time get
resolved.
I will implement
this strategy by
2 months. It is
found that this
strategy will be
implemented by
making a plan
before
executing the
project
(Sears et al.,
2015). It is quite
necessary to
track the time of
the project on a
weekly basis for
making sure
that the project
is progressing
as per the
developed initial
plan.

5.1 LESSON 3
1. Situation 2. The situation made me
feel…
3. What I learnt from
reflecting on the
situation
When I was involved with
the PMP20008
coursework, I identified
number of issues and
challenges in managing
the changes. As change
management is one of the
major factor for
successfully executing the
project therefore it is very
much necessary to
manage the changes
effectively.
This situation made me
very angry as I am unable
to make the required
changes while dealing the
course for successfully
executing the project within
the required time by
managing the changes that
are generally needed
within the project.
I have learnt that for
proper change
management, it is quite
necessary to handle the
changes within the project
quite effectively. In addition
to this, it is important to
know about the impact of
the changes that are
necessary.
5.2 LESSON 3: IMPROVEMENT STRATEGY
1.
Improvement
strategy
2. How to
measure if the
strategy
works
3. Why the
strategy is
achievable
4. Relevance
of strategy to
address the
lesson
5. When the
strategy will
be
implemented
The specific
improvement
strategy is to
handle the
changes within
the project quite
effectively so
that the
required
changes can be
done within the
assumed time
and budget
(Serra & Kunc,
2015).
The strategy is
working will be
reflected from
the statement
and how the
changes can
be effectively
handled.
This particular
strategy is
found to be
achievable as it
is focussed
more on how
the project will
be managed
and it is
identified that
by using simple
steps as well as
management
strategies, the
changes within
the project can
be implemented
quite
successfully.
This particular
strategy is
considered to
be relevant with
lesson 3 as in
lesson 3, the
problem is
mainly
associated with
change
management
and it is found
that this
particular
improvement
strategy is
helping in
properly
managing the
changes within
the project.
I will implement
the strategy
within 2 months
of time
successfully.
This can be
done by
implementing
proper change
management
plan so that the
changes which
are necessary
for the entire
project can be
implemented
quite
successfully
(Svejvig &
Andersen,
2015).

6. CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the entire report that after engaging within the course of
PMP20008, I have analyzed the significance of initiating and planning projects. The
reports also reflect on number of lesson framework that I have used for gathering
information and data. Moreover, the report reflects on the problems that is mainly faced by
me while getting involved within the course with proper strategies for resolving the issues
ad challenges that is faced me. Thus, it is found that the lessons that I have learnt from
this entire course has generally taught me how to manage my future projects and how to
focus on time management. The knowledge as well as experience that I have received
from this entire course have taught me how to handle my future projects successfully. I will
utilize both my experience and knowledge in successfully executing the projects by
avoiding the different types of risks and challenges that is mainly associated with the
project.
