Mirror
Oh! mirror mirror on the wall,
Can you tell me who is real at all!
I can’t see it with filthy eyes,
Dreams that I have seen are all lies!
You are the one who signified my Cinderella story,
And told me that good is all that gains the glory.
But, people say that you have changed now,
Smiling at face and stabbing people at back now.
Oh! Mirror mirror on the wall,
Can you tell me who is real at all!
My heart is tired of breaking,
But you can tell me who is faking.
Oh! Mirror mirror on the wall,
But how can you tell the truth,
When lies are all that you have got!

Mother
She gave me life in the utter loneliness,
She sculpted my soul,

When I was broken out of sorrows.
I never thought to give you happiness,
But was fussed in my problems,
Instead of you cheerfulness.
I can never repay the affection that I got from you as a friend.
But as a Mother,
You were everything above else!
You were there with me from the beginning,
But couldn’t make up to you in your end.
Maybe this is the punishment that I have to pay,
That I lost a person,
Whom I wished to cherish even on all odd days!!
Writer’s Reflection
A creative mind never finds a problem in writing something that they like. I believe that I is
important to always look for small things rather than big objects to choose as a topic for writing.
Due to which, I chose these to very common, yet very powerful topics to write the poem on.
Selection of topic was not a tough task for me, but working on the topic with the same kind of
zeal and flow was something that I struggled with. In order to write something good, it is
important to have an idea or a though on which the poem is going to lay stress on (Redmond,
2009). I found it easy to write the poems in simple language but faced difficulty while playing
with words. I wanted to write in simple language and develop and strong and deep meaning from
it. While writing in this way, I found difficulty to frame the sentences. It is very important to
have a good flow of work otherwise the reader will lose interest in the reading (Flaherty, 2015).

Poetry Portfolio 3
So, one I was ready the thoughts on which my both the poems were going to lay emphasis on, I
started writing. The flow subsequently went in the right direction and soon I received the right
paper for my submission. As such, there was no difficulty in working on both the topics as they
were the one that I selected with my will. Resulting in which, I had many ideas to cover up the
poems with. But I wanted to make the reader connected while reading the poem. So, I kept a
touch of emotions and feelings in both the readings. The paper is easy to read and rely as well
(Woolf, 2016). The aim of the paper was to write something simple that could ultimately make
the people connect with while reading it. It also aimed to develop a sense of emotional feeling
and make reader relate to it (Stevens, 2016). Simple and subtle are the features to which most of
readers in the society are attracted with. It is hard to portray such feelings in the writing, but I
tried my best to achieve it.
