1POLICY FOR THE HOMELESS PEOPLE IN AUSTRALIA
Policy Introduction
Australia faces one of the major issues with regard to the prevalence of the homeless
people living on the streets (Horsell, 2017). In poses an inconvenience not only to the residents of
Australia but it is also poses a great threat to the sanitation problem of such individuals. Not
being able to afford a home for themselves reflects negatively on the ability of the government to
provide for the welfare of its citizens (Kuskoff, 2018). As a result, there is a need on the part of
the Government of Australia to formulate a policy which would address this problem of
homeless people in Australia. The proposed policy seeks to provide a housing complex for all the
homeless people living in a particular region. They shall be provided with a temporary work
which will provide them with the minimal amount of money required for them to pay for their
basic means of subsistence.
Strengths of the policy
1. This policy aims to provide a basic shelter to the homeless people so that their welfare is
addressed.
2. The policy also aims to provide temporary jobs, no matter how menial, to such homeless
people.
Limitations of the Policy
1. The expenditure incurred with the implementation of this policy is huge. It will place a lot of
financial burden on the citizens of Australia and on the Government.
2. It will take several years before the shelters are build and work is provided to the homeless
people.
