1MACBETH AND TRUMP
The aim of this paper is to discuss the shocking similarities between the American President
Donald Trump and Macbeth, the renowned tragic hero of Shakespeare. Macbeth led himself into
the path of self-destruction, was trapped in his vaulting ambition. This pressurized him to murder
people to be successful and even to the civil war. He met the weird sisters to gain power and
made many unethical decisions to keep that power in his hand.
The critics have started to compare the American president with this epic character as
despite his past rampant narcissism, volatile temperament and all the bad behavior, he has risen
to power. Here three witches of Macbeth were Steve Bannnon, Breitbert News and Julian
Assange (Younge). The first one is the political operative planning for Trump’s presidential
campaign, second developed Trump’s conspiracy theories and their doomed the campaign of the
opposition.
Now after grabbing the power, like Macbeth, Trump is not pretending to play nice and
doing everything necessary for remaining in the power (Independent.co.uk). He has denied all
the allegations destroyed his accusers and piled lie about Hillary. In order to hide the treat of
being uprooted by the common people he has started to showcase how the establishment is
conspiring against him. In Macbeth, the birnam wood were moving towards to castle and ended
the era of oppression of Macbeth. Now the media is playing the role of birnam wood behind
which the actual oppositions are hiding to attack the lying empire of Donald Trump.
