TASK 1
1
Political and economic theories and systems impact the community services work and
overall activities related to community work gets hampered due to it. Australia is a democratic
country in which people are give rights to take part in general elections and competition further,
free elections takes place among distinct political parties. Belief in human rights, civil liberties,
civil rights and rule of law exist in the democratic state and it aids in rendering safe and
conductive environment to people (Dudgeon, Milroy & Walker, 2014). Economic theory is
based and developed on capitalism and investors as well as the organizations are free to sell
goods and services in the market.
Distribution and allocation of resources in the economy is done by market forces such as
supply and demand. Intervention of government is very less and private players have ownership
of assets such as financial and property resources. Wealth generation can be done by collecting
capital and the capitalism economic system supports in gathering wealth in the democratic and
capitalist society of Australia. Community services also get influenced due to political and
economic theory and due to it services rendered to people gets hampered. Inequality exists in
Australian society on the basis of age, race, sex, religion and ethnicity and due to those
community service activities gets affected (Badland, Whitzman & Giles-Corti, 2014).
2
Specific policy decision affects the community work and due to that various functions
related to community work gets affected. Social care workers are involved in the procedure of
rendering better and effective services to community people. Major objective for doing
community work is to bring positive changes in lives of people by giving them a supportive hand
(Whiteford & Hall, 2014). Local groups, social care centers, volunteers, charitable organizations
and non-profit organizations get influenced due to a specific policy formed by the state. For
example, a policy formed for protecting people from discrimination on the grounds of sex,
religion, financial status and occupation is mandatory to be followed by all the people that are
involved for giving services to local community people. Australian society is democratic society
and it is vital that all organizations should comply with the rules, regulations, policies and norms

formulated by government. Specific policy decisions gives impact on the community service
program that are running in Australian society and overall activities gets affected due to it.
People who are availing services in community also get influenced and affected due to the
diverse range of policies (Stewart & Wild, 2016).
3
There are some contemporary frameworks that underpin the social policy. These
frameworks aids in implementing the basic guidelines of social policy in an effective way and
community people gets benefited, further it is one most significant approach to assess changes in
allocation of economic systems including wealth, earnings and economic outcomes (Tomyn,
Norrish & Cummins,2013). In addition to this, one more approach is to assess the effect and
impact of social policy and on the basis of that making modifications in the existing frameworks
and policies.
One more technique that can be adopted is to evaluate impact of social policy. Major
purpose of social policy, people who gets affected due to it, outcomes received after
implementing the policy are assessed and it aids in making evaluation of impact brought by
social policy and necessary changes can be made under it. In addition to that, a contemporary
framework helps in identifying broad policy for the specific area and documentation of policies
is done (Bondi, 2016). Changes in measurable outcomes are also recorded and it supports in
identifying impact of social policy on the individuals. Major objective of social policies is to
make significant improvement in lives of people and provide them welfare options. Lives and
living standards of people changes overtime and better services can be availed by them.
4
Social and cultural institution in Australian society supports in keeping alive the political
history and unique culture of the nation. Impact of these institutions can be observed on people
living in the Australian society. Cultural institutions provide information about the museums,
public art gallery, collecting institutions, libraries and archives (Bor, Dean & Hayatbakhsh,
(2014). Some cultural institution gives details about Australia's political and maritime history
and they help people to interpret past and present events and historical incidents with the
objective to explore future. Similarly, social institutions supports in encouraging awareness

among community members and government policies are promoted by them. These
organizations help in making positive changes in lives of people and rendering better services to
them. Social institutions work for bringing justice, education, organizing health care programs
and welfare programs for people (Cooper, Quick & Schabracq, 2015). Both social and cultural
institution gives support in making people aware about history and culture of the country. Social
institution aids in building positive improvements in lives of people and due to that living
standard of community people rises. Better preventive, curative and rehabilitative care is
provided to people and it aids in giving better care for the society people.
5
Many factors contribute towards client experience of inequality and the possible role of
inequality on the society. Unequal distribution of resources and wealth is one of the significant
elements that give impact on client experience of inequality. In addition to that, policies,
regulations, norms and guidelines given by state also play an important role in contributing
towards client experience towards inequality (Bradshaw, 2016). Support given by social care
workers and other individuals is an important element that affects the experience of client.
Economic policy and social policy also supports and contributes towards experience and if
discrimination exist in society on the grounds of sex, religion, age, financial status, ethnicity and
religion than the perception and experience of the client gets affected. Moreover, norms of
allocations of resources and wealth are also significant element that gives impact on the
experience gained by the client. Living standard followed by people and norms and regulations
that are existing in society also are followed (McGorry, Bates & Birchwood, 2013). All the
factors are in the category of specific and crucial elements that affects the experience gained by
the clients. Discrimination made with the client on the grounds of age, gender and language
difference is most crucial and important element that impact working of the society.
6
There are different beliefs that exist in our society about various stratification in our
society. Sometimes perceptions and beliefs are created in mind of people due to which overall
working of the society gets influenced. Sometimes people consider themselves as more advanced
and upper class as compared to other people and they start making discrimination with other

individuals (Steptoe, Deaton & Stone,2015). Some major basic reasons due to which
discrimination is made includes ethnicity, language difference, color , age, financial status,
educational background and gender difference. It is necessary that people should make
changes in their perception and attitude and equal status should be provided to people without
making any differences. When the beliefs exist for longer duration of time than stereotype
develops and people living in the society gets affected due to it. In addition to that negative
impact is observed on the society and people living in the local community area gets affected due
to it. In addition to this sometimes people also gets affected due to the stereotypes and overall
functioning of the society gets influenced due to It (Makai, Brouwer & Nieboer, 2014).
Community people consider it essential to treat other people by making discrimination with them
and society culture and structure gets affected due to it.
7
Unemployment gives negative impact on the clients and society and people living in local
community area gets affected due it. A person finding difficulty in getting good employment
opportunities went in situation of mental depression and sometimes challenging behavior is also
shown by the client. Financial conditions of person also gets affected and difficulties are face in
completing basic requirements of life (Reiss, 2013).
In addition to that sometimes when a person found difficulty in gaining some good
employment opportunities than due to it involvement of individual in criminal activities
increases and it creates risk for the society people. Incidents of theft, murder and other criminal
activities increases and difficulties are faced in managing peace and harmony in the society.
Moreover, there are many incidents which occur due to unemployment and burden on
government also increases as there is need to provide employment opportunities for people so
that they can lead a normal life and live happily with their family by fulfilling their basic needs.
Society people also gets affected and negative impacts are observed on the society people when
unemployment situations increases in our system (Cummins, 2013). Client also gets affected and
mental, physical and financial well-being of the person gets affected due to it.

It is vital that policies, procedures and norms of society should be followed properly so
that desired functions should be executed properly. Health and safety related regulations formed
by government are properly followed for rendering safe and protective environment to business
clients. In addition to that equality related guidelines are followed and no discrimination is made
with any staff member. All the employees are provided with equal job opportunities and it aids in
maintaining transparency in the company.
No difference is made with any staff members and they are provided with same working
conditions. All the workers are treated in equal manner and no discrimination is made on the
grounds of sex, religion, age, financial condition, marital status and ethnicity. In addition to that
equal opportunities are rendered to the staff members to take part in the training and
development program that are being organized in the company. It aids in giving better and safe,
protective work environment to the staff members (White, Alcock & Depledge, 2013). Policies
are formed by top management for executing business functions and it is essential for all the staff
members to follow guidelines and norms formed by top management.
