1COMPARATIVE IDEAS OF POLITICAL HEROES
Introduction:
In the light of the politics, many of the great authors and the political philosophers have
shared their views and ideas. They have spoken about the political theories and about the topics
such as rights, laws, political liberty, as well as justice and authoritative power. However, they
had their views which had been affected during the period of time that they existed. Many of
these views have proved to be beneficial for the state and society, and many of them have been
not that influential. There are also views that do not exist in the political situation of the modern
times. This essay aims to talk about the contrasting views of these people and also the existence
of the same in today’s scenario.
Discussion:
George Orwell tae famous literary writer had been quite serious and dedicated towards
social politics. He had published his writings during the time of the left politics, and his
characters had a great resemblance to the political hero of Leon Trotsky and Zinoviev, and not of
Stalin. He termed his political views as “Orwelian”, which stated that there should be entire
authoritarian as well as totalitarian in the social practices of the society. According to Marks
(2015), this implied that there should be an entire authoritative power and a virtual control over
the entire social life which included the education, the art as well as the private life of all the
people. This had been unjust and this kind of political view is not valid in the modern times since
every one has the control of their individual life and there must it be any authority that should
have control over the freedom of the individuals.

Martin Luther King, one of the greatest political figures of United States of America
being a black man, he had an active participation in the black political movement. He had shared
an idea that that racism is not something that should be engraved in the political culture. He was
a live example of this and this though of his had been appreciated by the American politicians
and citizens after a long period of time. Lee (2017) proposed that he had been also known for
fighting for the civil rights of the citizens and he had fought for the civil disobedience. His
methods had been non violent and this had been the best part of the political philosophy. This
philosophy is respected even today in the politics of the United States.
Thomas King, being an American novelist has also an active participation in the politics.
He had announced in Aril 2007taht he wanted to organize a New Domestic Party, of which he
had remained a candidate. He had written a lot number of stories for the children and also the
novels which reflected the Native American culture. He had been a novelist who had sincere
interests in the politics, history and culture. He had been involved in the social protests which
asked for a positive relationship to be build among the native North American people and the
aboriginal citizens of the nation. He had been always a person who wanted a social bonding,
eradicating all the difference from the mind of the society (Tanner, et.al, 2015).
In accordance with the literary figures, Noam Chomsky had also been a great political
activist who can be also called a socialist or a left liberalist. His political philosophy was to
challenge the authoritarian power and eliminating it from the society, thus producing a liberalist
social view for all the people of the world. He had been a part of the Industrialist Workers of the
World and stood against the censorship. As per the discussion of Radick (2016), he was for the
freedom of speech and he opposed terrorism to a great extent because according to him, killing

civil and for any cause is terrorism. He had been extremely positive in his approach which
indeed is the best for the society and this philosophical approach is still practiced by the society.
Naomi Klein, born in the year of 1970, has been known as a famous activist and also a
political critique regarding the globalization and consumerism. She had a book written on the
global climate change, named “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs the Climate”. She stood
against the fact that the global corporations started growing more powerful and becoming
unaccountable for the citizens of the nation (Klein, 2015). They only had a tendency to grow
overseas. This had been a very important approach which had a social message as well as a
protest against the globalization of the economy.
In addition to this, one of the greatest political philosophers of all the time is Karl Marx,
who had been present in the 19th century. Jones (2016) says that he had his political views
regarding the class relations. His works had a severe influence on the communist leaders of the
twentieth century because he had an economic analysis of the capitalism that had been growing
in the world. He believed that the capitalisms or the class structure should be replaced by
communism. He had a labor theory which was aimed at bringing a huge change to the
industrialized society, abolishing the class structure as a whole. Being such a noble political
theory, this had been a boon to the labor class and wanted the working class to be their sole
authority (Milios & Dimoulis, 2018).
Another political philosopher who had a major role to play in the politics of the nation
had been John Locke. In his written document , “Two Treaties of Government”, he had proposed
the idea that every men of the society are free by their nature and are equal in the eyes of God
(Seliger, 2019). He also had the notion that since the Government is a constitution that is by the

people, for the people and of the people, they can be abolished if there is any kind of discrepancy
in the same. The role of the government is to safeguard the rights of the people, in respect of
their property , liberty and rights and any governing body if fails to do so can be resisted. He also
had an opinion regarding the distribution of the legislative and the executive powers in the
government (Mehta, 2018). His political idea also proposed that there should be no such
authoritative power, and the churches should not exert any kind of coercive power over the
members of their religion. This political theory though had been proposed in the 18th century, is
still in practice and he is respected for the same till today (Jeffreys, 2019).
Conclusion:
Thus from the above discussion of the political leaders and their political philosophies, it
can be said that the leaders and the heroes had fought for their society and their people. Most of
the people had a notion regarding the free state and the abolition of the authoritative rule in the
society. They wanted that the people should enjoy their individual rights and should be a part of
a society that works for the people in literal terms. They supported the role of the government
only if it worked for the betterment of the people. Believing in the abolition of a strict capitalist
society, they all demanded for a liberal society where the people can live together and work in a
free state.
