AI Summary
This assignment is a discussion post analyzing the negative aspects of political organizations in relation to the role of the state. The student explores how these organizations, including political parties, interest groups, and religious groups, can hinder government operations and potentially undermine democracy. The post argues that while political organizations are often necessary for influencing public opinion and social movements, they can also create obstacles to effective governance. The student provides support for their argument by citing instances where these organizations may prioritize their own agendas, potentially at the expense of the government's ability to serve its citizens effectively. The discussion highlights the potential for political organizations to negatively impact the government's role in a democracy and influence the public towards the government.

1POLITICAL SCIENCE
A political organization is an organisation which is involved in political activities that
include political parties, special interest groups, religious groups and non-governmental
organizations. These organizations are engaged in campaigning, lobbying, advertising,
prompting, community organizing pertaining to political activities and processes, designed to
achieve the political agendas for the benefit of the political parties, ruling a State or an
opposition. In addition, the political parties are a kind of political organization too, who are most
engaged in choosing candidate for the post of public office, campaigning for elections, and on
winning, they control the government.
The political organizations are indeed important for the political parties for gaining
strength through support, campaigns, advertisements, et cetera. The objective of the political
organizations is to either support the government pertaining to its roles and activities or to
counter the government and influence it to work more effectively, which would improve the
political scenario of the State. As pointed by the United Nations, non-governmental
organizations highlight women’s right, which improves the status of women in the society
("Chapter 3", 2019). In addition, it can even improve women’s participation in political
activities, thereby improving the political scenario of the State. Similarly, special interest groups
are groups who share similar goals like influencing the public towards specific purpose, for
example participation in any kind of social movement essential for the society at large. Special
groups include business organizations, labour unions and other public interest groups. Business
organizations help political parties and other type of political organizations with financial
support and other kinds of resources, while labour unions and political parties are mutually
dependent on one another, the former helping in promoting and support a political party or
banner and adds members to it, while the latter helps it by resolving the various claims of the

union members. United States have one of the vast number of interest groups since the mid-20th
century for they are aided by the ever-growing government that involves more responsibility to
be taken up by the political organizations (Berry & Wilcox, 2018). The expanding number of
political organization is a reality that aids in influencing various social movements necessary for
social forwardness. However, as argued by Burstein & Linton (2002), the political organizations
often affect the government policies and their implementations in a democracy. The
organizations often hampers the government policies to extend their agenda, often to counter the
ruling party that has formed the government.
Therefore, it can be concluded that even though political organizations are a necessity in
today’s world that influence public opinion for creating social movements, yet they have their
own flaws that often acts as a hindrance in the way of the governmental activities. It is a
necessary evil for it has the capability of influencing the public negatively towards the
government and create an impact on the usual functioning of the government. It affects the role
of the government in serving the citizens.
