Ways that would be used by marks and Spencer for overcoming the impact of poor management
at workplace
As per the view of Bakker and Demerouti (2018), there are different ways that are
adopted by marks and Spencer for overcoming the impact of poor management at workplace.
The foremost approach is effective planing, making a blue print of the activities and action will
help the company to know the direction in which they need to go. This blue print will help them
to identify the deviation and can take necessary step before any uncertainty occurs. Making a
effective strategic plan also helps them to forecast their future and put action in such a manner
that will provide long term benefit to the company. The Another way that can be used by the
company is providing training to the employee to acquire the skill of management. This coaching
will help them to built themselves about how they can manage their job properly which will help
them to reduce stress and make a proper balance between personal and professional life.
Establishment of clear and transparent goal is also a good approach to over come the problem of
poor management Clear goals will help the stakeholder to know the activities which they need to
perform so that duplication of work will be less. Unclear understanding is harmful in performing
the job and enhance the performance. Adopting different communication channel is also a
approach which will help in sharing of information in more product-full manner. Communication
blockage will be reduced and message can be transfer in various way.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
It is a scientific process which is used to identify, analysis and interpret the gathered data
in systematic format. This section is used by examiner to answer to basic question i.e. how data
can be gathered and how it can be analysed. There are various steps in research methodology
which are explained below with the help of Onion framework so that aims and objective can be
attained (Babii, 2020).
1. Research design
Research philosophy: This is the first layer in onion framework which can be defined as
a set of belief and principles about the kind of data that is to be obtained. The philosophies are
of three forms which are positivism, interpretivism and realism. As per the current requirement
investigator will choose positivism philosophy so that they can ascertained numerical
information which can be evaluated and measured in the given time period. The benefit of this
philosophy is that only numerical data in the form of numbers and figures need to be get rather
than theoretical data.
Research approach: Research approach is the another layer of onion framework which
is used to test the hypothesis and theories. There are three approaches to test the data which are
inductive, deductive and adductive approach. In the current research, researcher would be
selecting deductive approach so that quantitative data can be analysed and the existing
hypothesis can be tested in appropriate manner. The major advantage is that reliability and
relevant information can be analysed (Mohajan, 2018).
Research strategy: Research strategy is the most important section that provides various
kinds of strategy that can be used to gathered data from the respondent. Some of them are
grounded theory, action research, case study, survey, experimental, literature review and many
more. Examiner will selecting survey as the kinds of strategy so that numerical information
could be store. The benefit of survey strategy is to have numerical data about the topic of the
impact of poor management on employee performance and productivity.
Research choice: It is one of the method that gives choices to get the kind of
information. The are of three types mono method, mixed method and multi-mixed method.

qualitative. From the above topic the kind of data they want is Quantitative research. So that
numerical data could be assemble in systematic manner.
Sampling: It is that part of research methodology which act as tool to select the
respondent from the whole population. Sampling method is of two types that is probability and
non probability sampling. Investigator will choose probability sampling so that participant can be
selected in equal and fair manner. Further in probability sampling random sampling method will
be applied. The major benefit of this sampling technique is that each and every applicant will get
chance of being selected. The sample size will be 30 employees of marks and Spencer(Kumar,
2018).
Time horizon: This is the last layer of onion framework which is about the time
framework. This help in determing the point of time at which data need to be gathered. t is
classified into two kinds that are: cross-sectional time horizon and longitudinal time horizon.
Researcher will select cross-sectional time horizon because it helps in gathering data at a single
go so that aim and objectives can be ascertained in right manner. As well as aids in collecting
and analysing data as per the requirements of actual topic.
2.Data collection and analysis:
Data collection: Data collection is the vital part of research methodology which helps in
collecting the accurate and appropriate information. Data collection is divided into two major
types which are: primary and secondary data collection. As per the present investigation primary
data source would be selected to obtain fresh data. The benefit of using this source is that first
hand information will be accumulated which is not being used by any stakeholder before
(Novikov and Novikov, 2019).
Research instrument: There are various instrument that helps in gathering the data . In
the present research the research instrument that will be chosen is questionnaire because it will
directly collect the data from the participants and relevant data will also be gathered by using this
tool.
Data analysis: Data analysis helps in measuring the relevancy of information in
systematic way. It is divided into three parts that is frequency distribution analysis, content
analysis and thematic analysis. Examiner will choose frequency distribution analysis because this
will assists in measuring the numerical information. It will also be help in checking the relevancy
