For example in terms of corporate businesses and organizations, the popular culture that is
continuously developing in is to provision of equal rights for men and women, no gender
discrimination or biases. This popular culture helps to promote a feeling of equality within
organizations. It has provided enough support to build a shared and common approach to treat
women and men equally. Apart from the inclusion of gender pay equality, global businesses are
developing functions of promoting equal rights to the disabled person as well. Many countries
are reluctant of giving equal rights to women within organizations ( Bolin and Kurtz., 2018 ). For
example, as per the African corporate culture, women are not promoted or considered for leading
a team or opting for an executive position. For reducing the concept of ethnic, race
discrimination and governments has also laid down the emphasis on the provision for different
legal frameworks that has altered organizational systems and beliefs.
Apart from the context of corporate sector, there are other popular culture as well that are
persisting in society which highly promotes the need of social change ( Hannah Payne and et.al.,
2015 ). For example, due to increased awareness, people are getting more open and participative
in the discussions related to menstruation, AIDS, pregnancy. People have started promoting
awareness related to issues elementary clinical issues. This changed and popular culture have
raised the quality of clinical care at global level and increased the medical quality. The culture of
maintaining high of ethical practices have been increased due to increased awareness of service

the government and local bodies. Mainstream people of Australia have started accepting them
and respects regional culture and languages. Similarly, America also have different range of
culture and ethnicity like beliefs of Native Americans are different to that of African, Hispanic
and Asian Americans ( Malina., 2015 ). Due to increased cultural barriers, communities were
facing different severe issues like discrimination on the basis of race and ethnicity and other
beliefs. Due to the development of the laws like Civil Rights Act, 1964, a social change has
started to be introduced. Such type of social change has provided sufficient suitable frameworks
for a country to develop with uniformity and sustainability.

changing nature and views of their language and people from different cultural interests. Due to
such type of connections, the awareness of different culture has been increased due to these
connections. There are number of advancements that are being made by different sectors to
facilitate population with different ethnicity. Every sector is developing its services based on the
likings of various ethnicities and races. Ranging from corporate businesses to other sectors such

of women on the basis of their complexion. This culture of non-discrimination of women's
beauty on the basis of their complexion have started reflecting into number of advertisements,

people and promotes brown skin colour.
Along with it, culture of technological advancement has also supported the activities related to
social change. This culture has effectively incorporated the fact that geographical boundaries for
supporting social change have been reduced due to these cultures. Now engagement within

organization are a part of society so all the changes in organizational culture will affect the

their work, learn new skills, develop creativity in their work in solving problems etc.
organizational culture basically reflects the environment, behaviour and values of people, rituals
and language of all the employees working at a workplace.
One of the most popular culture is opportunity and willingness to start a start-up firm also helps
in bring social changes in society by increasing innovation and creativity in individuals.
Negative impact of popular culture:
Apart from the positive aspect of popular culture, there are certain negative impact of it which is
highly devastating by nature. Terrorists and related organizations are continuously spreading
their misdeed and threats all over the world by the help of social media platforms. Misuse of
social media platforms have also been increased which is promoting a negative social change
among people. Moreover, public have also started using social media platforms for expressing,
influencing public for a significant and specific community. This has mould the connectivity,
trusts level and relations of people of different cultures on one another. In addition to this,

negative impact of popular culture in promoting social changes within communities ( Baum and

Sometimes race ethnicity becomes one of the main reason for discrimination. Many times
based on the colour of an individual they are discriminated from any activity, from society etc.
Not only this many times based on menstruation among women, aids become main reasons due
to which discrimination among people occurs. For this today many campaigns have been
developed which help both men and women with such discriminations, helps in raising
awareness among men and women regarding birth control. Today cultural diversity has become
one of the main topic and is considered in many ways. Many times this becomes a main reason
for discrimination as well. For example many times Islam religion people get accursed for
terrorism or based on their dressing they are accused for many things. Many people tend to avoid

such religion people and discriminate them. Today many campaigns are being done to change
this mentality of people and such discrimination can be avoided.
Following campaigns have been organized which are trying to address all the above three
issues so that they can be minimized. Campaigns to reduce stereotype in workplace and even in
society are being organized. Such as CAP has published guidelines and banned stereotypes that
can cause harm or can create offence and campaign regarding it is organized which says that
“harmful gender stereotypes should be banned”. This campaign has helped in reducing ethnicity,
gender related stereotypes at workplace. As explained above that most of the people hesitate to
talk about aids, mensuration etc. and are least aware about birth control So for this many
campaigns such as “birth control campaigns”, “public health campaigns” are being organized.
This has helped in increasing health awareness which has further helped in reducing aids patients
and has also helped in increasing health awareness. To reduce effect of cultural diversity many
campaigns such as “do one thing” this campaign focuses on reducing diversity and its effects in
society. All these campaigns are playing a major role in addressing such issues in various ways.
With the popular trend of globalization, the security among local and mainstream people
have been increased. Native populations of different countries have started feeling insecure at
their own residential counties due to the entrances of new talents from various different parts of
globe. It can be a negative impact of popular culture which is promoting an undesirable factors to
social change. Due to such insecurities, the introduction and execution of certain movements like
the Chinese Execution Act of 1882 tend to be promoted.
Due to increasing cross border communication and exchange of people from different countries,
introduction to different types of diseases health issues have been increased. This has increased
the opportunities to develop healthcare and clinical assessments and systems at global level.
Along with these clinical concerns, ethical and racial wars are the most common results and
outcomes of the negative effect of popular culture. There may be significant cases that has been
highly related with the fact that homogeneity in races and ethnicity may not be supportive
enough for peace and harmony. With homogeneity, there must be the inclusion of shared
approaches among people to increase social values and to reduce the disadvantages of cultural
barriers. Lastly it can be said that popular culture affects the society both positively and
negatively and due to which more social changes are brought in the society.
