The cultural deficit model and health asset theories are applied to understand and address these issues. In Bristol, overweight and obesity are major concerns, leading to cardiovascular diseases, particularly among low-income families. The health asset theory informs interventions aimed at promoting healthier behaviors. Both communities require targeted strategies and interventions from governmental and non-governmental agencies to improve population health outcomes.
