INTRODUCTION
Academic skills refers to habits and talents which benefit academic pursuits such as
learning, research, presentations and report writing (Athanases, 2018). Study skills act as an
array of skills which tackle the process of organising and taking in new type of information or
dealing with assessments into an appropriate manner. It includes technical skills, test-taking,
communication, social, planning and studying. This report covers analysis about personal and
academic development and also about relevant sources with respect to health and social care
practice. The research covers analysis about qualitative and quantitative data regarding the
COVID-19 and young people: Impact on lung function.
TASK 1
1.1Create a portfolio of evidence showing development in academic study skills
Portfolio of evidence showing development in academic study skills has been described
into following manner:
Communication Skills: Communication skills plays a very important role at organisational
level. There are some examples of communication which includes communicating new ideas,
feelings or even an update on the project. Communication skills include listening, speaking,
observing and empathising (Atolagbe and Floyd, 2020). I have good communication skills at
organisational level due to which I can create greater levels of trust and commitment among
team members. Good communication skills also lead towards the higher level of employee
engagement and increased levels of creativity.

Team work: Under this head, teamwork means that people will try to cooperate and work into
collaborative manner with their individual skills and also provides constructive feedback(Harris
and Bacon, 2019)I have good ability to work in a team because I can easily adjust with every
kind of personality and also have patience level to understand perspective of another team
member.

Decision making ability: Decision making ability refers to the proficiency in choosing between
two or more alternatives. (Kert, ErkoÇ and Yeni, 2020) I have good decision making ability due
to which I can perfectly do the immediate task within a period of time.
Time Management: Time management is a process of organising and planning different kinds of
activities in a particular manner and divide it into particular time frame. I have good time
management ability due to which I can segregate the work into appropriate manner and can
complete the daily tasks into positive manner due to which I can perform in an out of box
manner.

1.2 Using an acknowledged model reflect upon a significant learning incident
Gibb's reflective cycle basically involves five stages which are named as description of
the experience, feelings, evaluation of the experience, conclusion and action plan. (Klegeris,
Gustafsson and Hurren, 2018).

 Description: The incident I will be reflecting on project that has been assigned to team
members and that needs to be achieved within a period of time.
 Feelings: When project is assigned to team members, at that time I am feeling very
excited and nervous as well. I am feeling in this manner because it's a new opportunity
for me and also act as challenge for me to achieve this task within a period of time.
 Evaluation: While working for this project, I have evaluated that there are challenges to
work among team members. When cooperation from team members have been received
also leads me towards to complete the project within a period of time.
 Analysis: I have analysed that due to miscommunication among team members it is
difficult to convey accurate information to each and every member of a team.
 Conclusion: From this experience, I am now feeling like more responsible towards work
and also understand importance of being assertive and active into professional manner.

This article is about relationship between health and psychosocial factors among North
African women are scarce. The article is majorly concern with disorders related to mental health
and their related problems which are a main concern related to public health, they are linked to
social capital, quality of life and productivity(Psychosocial health and quality of life among
North African women). The discussion has been done with respect to different incidence of
disorders related to mental health due to economic, socio-cultural and physical boundaries
contexts. The article is majorly concern about better understanding North African women's
mental health needs, economic and socio-cultural concerning different living environments.

analysis of complaints reported to the Finnish supervisory authority

The article is majorly concern with complaints in an official manner which is related to

when patients were in alive condition. Their motivation is with respect to improving care which
their relatives are receiving as well as care for others in residential care home.
Grassroots innovation practices for social transformation of the health and well-being in a
self-built settlement in Medellín-Colombia

The article is focused on identifying grass roots practices that are related to innovation and these
are shaped in El Faro which is basically a self-built settlement. This settlement is at urban border
of city of Medellin. It also talks about well-being and health which is related to social
transformation(Grassroots innovation practices for social transformation of the health and well-
being in a self-built settlement in Medellín-Colombia).The article also talks about creation of
community public spaces and three main issues which include artistic training, water
management. It also talks about generation of apparatus that reduce inequality because
community plays a very important role in terms of transforming health process through
community assets and construction of city.
2.2 Describe about the process through which identification can be done for relevant sources for
an academic piece of work
Under first article, primary research was conducted and two hundred fifty two
participants have been used regarding check-up at public-health clinics in Casablanca and Tunis.
In this particular article, demographic and psychosocial questionnaire have been used for finding
out results. Under second article, secondary research was conducted and six thousand
complaints have been received by an agency regarding the social care and health provided for all
ages of citizens. Under third article, primary research was conducted and it was focused on
identifying grass roots innovation practices takes place and are shaped in 'El Faro'.
2.3 Assess the credibility of your sources.
This research is basically a in-depth analysis which was focused on general population.
Purpose of this research is to understand reasons of mental disorders among women and to focus
on psychosocial health of women in North African country. Under this first article, 252
participants were used for carrying out this research. Under second article, purpose of research is

to understand reason behind neglecting the care of older people in residential care settings.
Under third article, purpose of research is to identify grass roots innovation practices and in
which manner they are shaped in El Faro. The authors of these articles are well-known in their
field and they were published on non-biased website.

In this article, primary research has been conducted in it. The chosen article named as
COVID-19 and young people: Impact on lung function which was written by Jeanna D. Smiley.
Under this article, scientists explored about COVID-19'S impact on lung health in young people.
The article also talks about SARS-COV-2 does not appear to impact lung function in young
adults.According to study it has found that lung function in children and adolescents was
unimpaired after a SARS-COV-2 infection. The article also talks about children and infants
generally have a higher susceptibility to viral respiratory tract infections than older individuals.
Quantitative data of this research
With respect to quantitative data, it has been observed that a systematic review has been done
with particular number of cases. For doing study in an appropriate manner, data has been
collected for 661 individuals whose average age was twenty two years. (COVID-19 and young
people: Impact on lung function). These people participated in BAMSE project which follows
Swedish children born between 1994 and 1996. For finding out the results they have included
counts of eosinophils which is basically type of white blood cell. Different doctors have given
their different findings. According to study with respect to pulmonary function in young people
follows a SARS-COV-2 infection. It has been found out that 10 % of hospitalised adults had
reduced spirometry values and 24% had decreased diffusion capacity.
3.2: Evaluate the quality of the research article
The research has been conducted on Covid-19 and young people: Impact on lung
function and it was written by Jeanna D. Smiley. This research was conducted on 13 September,
2021 and primary research has been conducted in this article. In this research two doctors have
done study with respect to impact on lung function due to Covid-19. According to Dr.
Mogensen's, her team collected data of 661 individuals whose average age was 22 years
regarding exploring how a SARS-CoV-2 infection affects lung function. Dr Schlegtendal

collected data of 73 individuals regarding pulmonary function in young people following a
SARS-CoV-2 infection.
3.3 Discuss the relevance of the findings to health and social care practice
According to chosen article named as COVID-19 and young people: Impact on lung
function, two doctors have presented their findings in this article. According to Dr. Mogenson it
has been found out that there was no difference in lung function change with respect to blood
eosinophils, fractional exhaled nitric oxide, allergic sensitization(COVID-19 and young people:
Impact on lung function). According to Dr. Schlegtendal it has been find out that there were no
significant differences detected in frequency of abnormal pulmonary function.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from above report that academic study skills play a very important
role at organisational level. There are different kinds of skills which are necessary at professional
level. Particular model has been used to define a particular incident and different types of articles
has also been used with respect to health and social care practices. For purpose of interpreting
qualitative and quantitative data, a research article has been used within the report named as
covid-19 and young people: impact on lung function. So it's important for an individual to have
academic study skills so that they can interpret things in an appropriate manner.
