INTRODUCTION
A portfolio basically provides information about the collection of writer's work for a
given set or period of time. Portfolio analysis helps in collecting information and recognising the
skills and abilities possess and acquired during a set of time. The following portfolio is prepared
to conduct an analysis on the skills learned from last weeks GBS and sort of skills need for
communication, time management and with respect to other special reference. Beside this an
evaluation of challenging faced together with overcome strategy are also there.
ASSESSMENT 1
A. Portfolio contribution One
A GBS Skills career pathway programme is attended by me on last week with an aim to
develop and enhance my professional and educational development skills. This programme had
provided a sum total of technical and professional components of various skills which are
necessary for a having an overall personality and educational development through
understanding an effective way of learning and planning (Breuer, 2019). During the GBS
programme, I was having a main focus on learning the skills that will lead to an effective use of
Library and other electronic resources and provide me knowledge about how I can make better
use available Library, computer and online websites and other learning apps so that I can
become able to collect and gather all the relevant information need by me for my educational and
knowledge purpose . The other skill learned by me are the effective Planning skills so that I can
properly schedule and manage my study. Apart from this most simplest and efficient way of
Note taking is also learned by me so that I can make proper notes regarding all topic related to
my interest and educational background to have a brief and better understanding about those
topic for a longer period of time and these notes are also useful in providing quick revision about
topics. Apart from this I have also learned about the best way of developing and building a
bibliography that basically provides a traditional way for academic study of books and other
physical and cultural objects. Beside all these skills a effective way of reducing and elimination
plagiarism through efficient and better understanding of various and facts and information is also
learned by me at GBS (Falkinder, 2019). Further I have also learnt to properly find and review
various sources of information so that all the required information and need content which is
necessary for me to have better educational qualification and required to met by interest and

knowledge aspects can be easily revised and analysed by me. All these skills learned and
acquired by me facilitates a better understanding of class assignments and other required
information to meet my educational criteria and enhance my knowledge and information.
B. Portfolio contribution Two
A large number of skills and talents are required for having better educational
qualification and overall personality development. The skills that were included in GBS are
related with various soft skills that enables me to think critically to solve a problem in best
possible way and develop better note taking and planning skills. Along with this various
administrative, business, finance, communication, interpersonal, leadership, team and time
management skills are also included in GBS programme.
The skills needed by me for having better influence and personality development includes
reflection skills that will makes me able to develop an ability to effectively reflect my words and
feelings and to clarify the my views and ideas so that they can be understood correctly and
properly (Tseng, Yi and Yeh, 2019). Apart from this communication skills are also required by
me so that I can interact and collaborate with my professors, academic administrators and all
other students effectively and it also lead to built a self confidence in me so that I can present a
project in front of other in a more attractive and impressive way. The other skills that is need by
me is effective easy and report writing skills as it will lead to better written communication and
makes me able to properly transfer and view my opinion in any topics or assignment so that I can
get better grades on my work. Debating skills are also required by me as it lead to multi-faceted
knowledge which provide knowledge about several disciplines outside the normal academic
subjects of learner. Beside this these skills will also lead to an improvement in rigorous higher
order and critical thinking skills (Williams, 2019). Further presentation skills will also need by
me as it lead to better confidence and self esteem in a learner which facilitates effective
demonstration of an topic or project. Time management are essentially required by me so that I
can study all subjects and topics on regular basis and on time and sufficient amount of time can
be give to each topic to have better understanding. Apart from this, proper revision strategy are
also needed by me so that I can effectively review and evaluate my syllabus well on time.
C. Portfolio contribution Three
The main challenges faced by me during learning skills at GBS are related with
insufficient resource required to acquire various professional and technical skills. To overcome

this issue the strategy that is followed by me is effective learning through the help and support of
online website and other relatively cheap modes of acquiring learning and information. Issues
related with language barrier are also faced which are also solved trough online language
converter and dictionary (Fukushima, Hautasaari and Hamada, 2019). Apart from this an issues
and challenge related with management of time is also faced by me as I need to devote and
provide a significant amount of my time to this learning process which is quite difficult. Thus, to
remain on track and solve this issue use of effective planning and time scheduling is made by me
to limit the wastage of time and effectively mange all my tasks and activity well on time. Use of
a checklist is also also made by me which is an effective strategy to overcome with issue of time
management (Shishakly and Lutta, 2019). Beside this, many efforts are made by me to solve the
issuer of effective concentration power and discipline required to learn all these skills and to stay
motivated to attend the class.
CONCLUSION
From this portfolio it can be concluded that many skills are learned from GBS that
includes effective use of Library and other learning electric devises, planning, nots taking, etc.
beside this many other skills are also needed for overall professional and educational
development that includes effective communication skills, time management, presentation and
many more. Further it has been evaluated that many challenges related with resource
insufficiency and time management are also faced.
