1PORTFOLIO PROJECT
1. The pattern of a circle is something that defines very well the collection of work that I
did for assignment 1. I start by talking about the need for good communication as it is
essential for healthy living, then I proceed to discussing the importance and
significance of a time out, then I talk about the importance of software learning and
also the need for limiting the use of technology after which I go onto describe the
importance that both diet and meditation have to play in healthy living.
2. Three significant influences on my work as are as follows –
a) The talks and advice given by health experts and nutritionists
b) Suggestions for healthy living as made by lifestyle gurus
c) The advice or suggestions given by proponents of green or eco friendly living
3. The advice and talks by health experts that I have had the privilege to attend have
informed me greatly of the lifestyle practices that I need to imbibe in order to lead a
healthy lifestyle. I have also engaged with nutritionists because of the fact that I suffer
from a liver problem and need to maintain a really careful diet plan to keep myself in
good health, and from them also I have come to understand the numerous ways and
means by which we can keep ourselves healthy and free from stress no matter how
business out lives are. I watch television programs that are conducted by lifestyle
gurus quite a lot, and given that most of their suggestions are quite practical in nature,
I find them quite easy to imbibe. Finally, there are many people in my friend’s circle
who are advocates of eco friendly living and who have managed to convince me about
the many benefits of living a life that involves limited use of technology and more
outdoor activity.

4. My ethos for healthy living is something that has been inspired largely by my
individual experiences. I have struggled with health issues for quite some time, and
have often been too weak to study and to work as competently as I would have liked
to. My ill health has led me to do the rounds of many doctors and nutrition experts
and to also watch lifestyle channels and programs to get a better idea of how to gain
control over my body by following a healthy way of life.
5. The portfolio that I have created makes me come across as a person who is informed
about good lifestyle choices and who is aware of the pros and cons of certain
activities. By reading my personal portfolio, my readers will be able to understand
that I understand the importance and the need for healthy living and that the
suggestions that I make in this respect for professionals and non professionals alike,
are suggestions that are practical and which are easy to implement.
6. Currently, healthy living is a byword in most developed countries of the world. There
is an increasing consciousness around different parts of the globe that healthy living is
needed if people are to survive for a long time to come, and if people are to find the
energy and the strength that they need to lead both their personal and professional
lives with competency. Given the health related problems that are related with obesity
and cholesterol such as heart disease and poor liver, more and more people are
realizing the fact that healthy living is imperative and that lifestyle choices that people
make must be wise and such that it encourages people to be healthy.
7. My friend Mathew is a lifestyle guru himself, and gives talks and lectures at
universities and in public. While he is not too well known in the media, his lectures

are quite popular and are attended by many people. My friend Samantha is a green
living advocate and is seen to live her life in the most environment friendly way,
using solar panels and bamboo furniture at home in order to promote wellbeing of the
environment. My sister Jennifer is a yoga expert and is hugely conscious about the
need and importance of healthy living. All of them have had a very positive influence
on me.
8. My ethos on healthy living is similar to those of my friends and sister as I too believe
in embracing a way of live that demonstrates concern for the environment and for the
body. Its different because I am not in favor of the use of too much technology
whereas my friends and sister appear to hold the view that excessive use of
technology is not detrimental for the environment or for our own health.
