EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
With the major purpose to become successful in career and personal life this is very essential that
student get the opportunity to enhance their skills as according to the university level so that they
can make those skills better which are required to have efficient employment. It is essential that
skills are to be developed in such a manner that an individual can be more responsible for their
career and their personal development. This enhances capacity of taking effective decisions that
in which company they want to build up their career and develop their professional life. This
prospect helps them in become highly responsible and getting employment in the company
which they are desired for, this assist in individuals in their career evolvement and development
by which they may have high development in their career life. For achieving success and high
responsibility an individual is required to have apt academic knowledge by which immense
knowledge regarding usage of modern and emerging technology and high knowledge about
market trend can be obtained which is helpful for them in high career growth. There are
numerous skills which can be developed by a student within university curriculum such as time
management, communication skills, problem solving skills and many more. These skills are
essential for students in order to get a positive side over an interview in front of recruiter. This is
going to help a student in getting tough competition and placement in desired company (Burnett
and Akerson, 2019.
Within this report after examining skills this could be helpful for me in enhancing my
skills so that I was able to develop them in college tenure in order to become employable. This
report may be helpful for me in recognising those skills which are needed to be improvised so
that I can analyse my growth opportunities in personal and professional career. Within this
prepared portfolio I considered all the required skills which are going to help me in my career in
order to become employable and compete in the prevailing market by which I will be able to get
my dream job. Time management is essential as it is helpful in lining up all the significant
projects in order to complete task on stipulated time frame. Task management is one of the
essential project by which task can be completed in effective manner so as to get assistance over
project completion. For enhancing my communication skills I actively participated in debates
and group discussions so as to make myself comfortable in giving interviews in confident

manner. At last for enhancing my probability of being selected I have prepared a CV in which
description about my qualification and skills are enumerated. Presentation skills are essential so
that any topic can be presented in a group of people in order to make them understand. I have
also included writing skill within my portfolio by which I can score good marks in academics.
1) CV Writing
CV is a written document in which all the information of an individual regarding skill,
education, qualification, and professional summery and personal background, past job interview,
achievements, and recognition are shown. With the help of this document an employer can
recognise abilities and capabilities of individuals for the prescribed job (Essed, Goldberg and
Kobayashi, 2017).
2) Cover letter
A cover letter is a written document in which additional information is described and given
in additional to a CV to the employer. With the help of this document employer can screen the
candidates for an interview and provide them a chance to enlighten their career. The cover letter

Academic writing is known as scholar writing in which authentic and related information which
is directly associated to the topic is written. With the help of effective writing and academic
skills student can score more as they establish an ability to get a linkage between concepts.

4) Skills need to be employable
In order to be employable there are some skills which are required such as communication
skills, decision making skills, writing skills, interpretation skills etc. These skills are helpful for
an individual to get desired job and helps them to analyse things in a better way. These skills are
helpful for me to enhance my business skills.

5) Online sources that can facilitate in employment process
In the current time usage of internet is increasing by which employment process can be
improvised. In current time companies post their job vacancies on online portals and it is so easy
for candidate to find out their desirable job with the help of internet as mediator. At the time
when I was searching for a job on various online portals I created my profiles.
6) Referencing and its importance
Referencing is an essential aspect in academic writing so that reader can get to know about
the sources of information and authenticate the report. Citations are given for every information
so as to ensure the reader that only reliable content has been added to the report. I used
references for my collected data so as to enhance relevancy of the content.
7) SWOT analysis
With the help of SWOT analysis I recognised my strengths, weaknesses, threats and
opportunities by which I could realise that on what area I am required to put more focus and
formulate strategies to overcome from those threats which can be career barrier (Gürel and Tat,
2017).
8) Time management
Within this aspect I planned my activities in such a manner that I can stay out of stress and
complete multiple activities at a single time. This enhances my working efficiency by which I
completed all the assigned activities in stipulated time.
9) Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the activity of copying other’s ideas and research without taking approval. In
the initial time I had not enough knowledge of this topic but after the time passed with the help
of university guidelines I prepared my project reports by taking care of Plagiarism.
10) Interview skills
In order to have an impactful interview confidence is required to be enhanced. Along
with this detailed information of the company for which interview is conducted is to be taken
care. During my interview I recognised that with the help of proactive measures and high
confidence interview skills can be enhanced.

11) Group Photo
Group work is defined as collaboratively performing various tasks. Since from my school
time I worked in teams so this skill helped me to manage collective force and efforts. Team
photos are helpful in motivating team and solve problem within teams.
12) Presentation skills
In increasing competition in corporate world, individual is required to be creative and distinct.
With the help of effective presentation skills demonstration of given topic can be effectively
performed by which this can attract listeners in considerable way. In college I presented so many
presentations in seminars and college competitions so this is providing me advantages in my
professional career(Van Emden and Becker, 2016).
