P4 Small-scale research through qualitative and quantitative method
Research methodology is a systematic approach for conducting research, it may include
interviews, journals, articles, etc. and it may also consist of past data and information. It is
defined as to collect information and data in terms to conduct study in systematic manner and it
typically puts their emphasis on theoretical model, paradigm, phase, etc. (Bresler and Stake,
2017). It underpins that what methods are been applied in present study.
Research type: Research type chosen typically depends on the nature of the study and based on
the nature of research. Thus, it has divided in two types as qualitative research and quantitative
research. Qualitative research is also called as exploratory research; it can be referred as a type of
research which helps in gathering theoretical data and knowledge. It assists in providing the deep
information of the problem and also helps in creating the hypothesis. Quantitative research is
type of a research method which mainly focuses on mathematical or numerical, statistical and
measurement analysis. In this method data is collected through questionnaires, surveys, etc. and
by using past facts and figures. On the basis of nature and subject matter of research, researcher
will conduct qualitative research. Researcher has chosen qualitative research as it will help in
collecting information in detail. The method chosen by the researches is the Questionnaire
because form this method people in large number can be contacted and also this method helps in
getting specific answer to the questions.
Research philosophy: It is referred as belief that aids to gather and analyse specific data
which can be used within research (Fletcher, 2017). Research philosophy is the view of different
people, the various techniques which is utilised for accumulating, analysing as well as
interpretation the gathered information. Research philosophy helps the researcher in identifying
the methods that can be used for conducting research in particular way. Hence, it’s classified into
categories as interpretivism and positivism. Researcher will choose interpretivism philosophy as
it is the most appropriate philosophy for conducting the research on a given topic. By using
interpretivism research philosophy, it will allow the researcher to make use of theories in an
effective way in order to develop an understanding the positive financial, socio-cultural as well
ethical impacts of globalisation in organisation. Another benefit of choosing interpretivism is,
used for the issues in ethics evaluation and also used to evaluate leaderships.

Research design: It is a guide of various methods which is chosen by a researcher in
order to sum up the different components of research in a rational manner, so problem of
research can be solved effectively. It constitutes the blueprint of data collection, measurement
and data analysis. It is a complete strategy which a researcher uses to incorporate the various
components of study in rational and seamless manner which ensures that problem of research is
effectively addressed (Humphries, 2017). It can be divided in four types which includes
experimental, descriptive, explanatory and exploratory. In present study, researcher will choose
descriptive research design, main purpose for choosing the descriptive research design is that it
will help researcher to gain in depth knowledge of a study. Another advantage of Descriptive
method is, it is used for observing as well as describing the subject without any partiality or in a
transparent way.
Research approach: This is defined as the procedure which consists of number of steps
of broad assumptions towards the detailed method of collection of data, analysing it and
interpreting it. It is a plan which is based on various assumptions that are related to different
tasks which will be performed during the procedures of investigation. Hence, it’s categorised
into two main categories such as deductive and inductive research approach. Deductive research
approach emphasis on developing a hypothesis which is based upon existing theory and then
designing the strategy for research for testing the hypothesis. Inductive research approach mainly
focuses on the generation of new theory which has been emerged from new data and it moves
from specific instances into generalised conclusion. In the present study, based on the nature of
problem inductive research approach will be chosen (Dumay and Cai, 2015). The reason for
choosing inductive research is that it will provide the researcher ease of finding the answer to the
questions and providing the appropriate solutions to a particular problem which will help in
doing future enquires in order to guide the future questions.
Sampling: Sampling is a process which is used in the statistical analysis in which
number of observations are taken for a large population. It is a statistical procedure concerned
with the selection of individual observation and it helps in making the statistical inference about
the population. There are various types of sampling techniques such as random sampling
techniques, cluster sampling, systematic and stratified sampling technique. In present study
researcher will choose 20 Manager of different functional departments of Jaguar as participants
of the research. Researcher has chosen the Managers, researcher believes that they are the key

people of various functional departments of the organisation. So they will able to provide an
appropriate information of the research problem.
Data collection: It is referred as systematic approach for gathering as well as measuring
the information gathered from various sources to get close picture of area of chosen interest.
Also, it is the process through which a researcher gathers information for different sources with a
purpose to provide solution for the research problem (Hickson, 2016). Methods of Data
collection can be divided into two categories such as primary data collection method and
secondary data collection method. Secondary data collection method is a method in which the
data that has been already published. Secondary data is present in abundance in the sources like
journals, articles, magazines, books, newspapers, etc. Primary data collection is method in which
data is collected on first hand by a researcher with a specific purpose of project. Such type of
data collection method is expensive as well as time consuming. Researcher will choose
questionnaire technique for collecting the facts and information related to the topic. The reason
the researcher has chosen the questionnaire method is it is very less expensive and the data
collected form it is reliable.
Data analysis: Data analysis is the process of refining the information in order to make it
understandable and useful. It is the process of systematically applying the statistical tools as well
as logical techniques in order to describe, illustrate, condense, recap and evaluate data (Bresler
and Stake, 2017. ). The results so obtained are communicated with suggestions, conclusions and
supporting decision makings. In this study thematic analysis will be chosen and it is the most
popular and commonly used technique for analysing the facts. Also, researcher will also use
graph and charts in order to make the information more presentable. Other benefits of using bar
and graphs are large number of data can be presented in a smart and understandable way. Graphs
also make easy the complicated data which can be further used for analysis.
Accuracy: This is defined as the way in which researcher can know how close the
parameter of its sample to the population characteristics is. It simply suggests that how a
gathered information will reflect the real world. Researcher can prove that a particular research is
accurate, valid, and generalised by checking the accuracy. Accuracy of the project can increase
the authenticity of the project and it can be done by using a statistical techniques. Accuracy of
data will best for doing analysis as it will bring positive results because of analysis of accurate
data.
9
Document Page
Reliability: It simply means that a degree in which method of research used gives the consistent
and stable results. Particular measure is considered as reliable if its application on similar objects
of measurements in various times produces the same results (Rowley and Oh, 2016). It will
allow the researcher to test if study fulfils the aims and objectives and also makes sure that the
results are based on the topic and not on external variables. It allows the researcher to have
positive implications on other areas of psychology and could be used to solve the similar issues.
The reliability of the data is highly important for the research because if the data is not reliable
then it can bring negative result which can be by using wrong outcomes.
