Social media as negative and positive manner
Social media helps individuals to connect with their beloved ones. This is a great way for staying
in touch with family and friends. There are several channels of social media which are used for
reaching out family living across and nearby (Coleman, Pettit and Buning, 2018). This is
platform to share personal stories and photos and remind importance of people in life. On the
social media platform, people follow and share inspiring stories which will make individuals feel
confident as well as positive regrading life. There is need to create balance through social media
and emphasize upon what is in front of the person. People take time to connect with loved ones
by using technology and face to face interactions. It provides help in managing different areas of
life including personal as well as business factor. On the other hand, social media also affects
individual life in negative manner. This makes people isolated from present world. This makes
some individuals left out from the present world (Elder, 2020). They are just involved in virtual
world of social network. they do not interact with people face to face but they are mote into
virtual conversations. In today’s world, people rely upon social media platforms like Facebook,
Twitter, Snapchat etc. for finding and connecting with each other. This is a fact that social media
can never become a replacement for real world human connection. Virtual interaction on social
media does not have any psychological benefits as compared to face to face communication.
There is relation of social media and individuals in which they are aware about happenings
across the world (McGrew and et.al, 2017). There is a term naming FOMO i.e. Fear of missing
out and this is an important issue in context of social media. This means that some people think
that there are few people who are having more fun on Instagram and Facebook. This creates
depression and anxiety in minds of people who are not having enough fun.
