INTRODUCTION
People work to provide themselves and their families basic essential things such as food ,
clothing as well as shelter. Once these basic needs are fulfilled than other needs and wants are
raised that make the life more comfortable. There are various motivational factors that encourage
people to work and complete all roles and responsibility in efficient manner. In this report
various positive as well as negative factors that are experienced by the people by particular job
role in discussed. There are various strategies that neglect all negative factors and enhance work
efficiency covered in this project report. Different theories are used to describe various
characteristics from different point of views.
TASK
Concept of motivation
Motivation is defined as the physiological as well as mental forces that leads and direct the
behaviour of particular individual and group to complete specific work in efficient manner.
There are various type of motivation such as intrinsic motivation that is related to psychological
concepts that raises the motivation through enhancing the sense of achievement as competitive
person. The respective concept depends upon the Maslow’s hierarchal need theory in which
people are motivate to reach on top that are begins from physiological to self-actualisation in
order to attain high level potential (Debes, 2018). The other method of motivation is extrinsic
that focus on outside individual needs such as getting rewords and recognition for their efficient
working. All these factors motivate people get high work performance in order to get higher
recognition. The respective concept is related to Taylor scientific management that states that
workers are paid more if they work more. So, people work harder in organisation for the purpose
of getting more money for themselves.
The various factors which motivate employees to work
There are various factors that motivates people to work more efficiently and get high work
performance. Motivation is the most effective factor that leads people to engaged with
organisation for long period of time (Dirani, 2017). This the initial challenge that are every
organisation face to motivate employees on order to gain organisational goals and objectives in
effective and efficient manner. Effective employee management is necessary for the satisfaction

as well as happiness to work within organisation. Some factors that motivate people to work in
efficient manner are discussed below:
Salary: Salary is the biggest factor that motivates people to work efficiently. As money
plays important role in making quality life of people and facilitates them to live in manner that
they want. There are various incentives, financial rewards and other things are provided that
motivates employee to engage with organisation and gain high work performance as well. It
works as the motivation if appropriate salary and compensation is provided according to work
(Eimermann and Kordel, 2018). In Maslow’s need theory all physiological needs are fulfilled by
the money in order to make their life more comfortable.
Working environment: Organisational work environment and culture plays important
role in motivating employees and enhances their satisfaction level that results high retainment
rate of employee with organisation. work environment is defined as the factor that are exist
around employee in which they are working. Effective and comfortable work place enhance
motivational level of employees on the other hand, negative working environment affect the
productively and performance in negative manner as well. Strong employee and employer
relationship facilitates to organisation and employee to attain all desirable personal as well as
professional goals and objectives in effectively and efficiently.
Promotions and rewards: Promotions and rewards are the factors that motivates
employees to work with organisation for long period of time. If employees performed their
defines task and activity in efficient manner than various rewards and promotions are provided
that facilitates to attain high work performance. When employees are promoted in the business
and recognition is provided to them for their work that motivates other employees as well to
work in efficient manner and attain all organisational goals and objectives.
The positive factors employees experience as a result of their job roles
Better employee experience is the important factor that provides various sustainable competitive
advantages than other competitors. There are different positive factors that enhances positive
employee experience and satisfaction with their job role and organisation as well (Fowler,
Phillips and Westaby, 2018). Some positive factors that motivate employees are described
below:
Growth opportunities and skill development: Growth opportunity and skill development
is the most important factor that enhances positive work experience with their job and

organisation in which they are currently working. Organisations provides different training and
development programme, workshops and other sessions to enhance knowledge in specific area in
order to get career advancement opportunities. These opportunities build trust, maintain strong
connection as well as reduce apathy.
Effective connection with others: Strong and effective interpersonal relationship at
workplace enhance the overall positive experience of employees as well as generate the feeling
that they are important part of organisation. strong peer relations enhance the chances of
effective learning opportunities as well as facilitate to build network leading towards gaining
better experience.
Quality of leadership: Work experience is directly related with the relationship of employee
with their leaders. Leader guides, motivates and leads employees to work in right direction in
order to attain all defined goals and objectives in effective manner (Grow, McPhillips and Batra,
2019). Better understanding among leaders and employees enhances the experiences of job role
in positive manner.
The negative factors employees experience as a result of their job roles
A negative work environment leads employees towards dissatisfaction and diminishing
performance as well as morale. There are various negative factors that affect the experience of
employees from their job roles. Work related stress in the important factor that develops various
issues within employees and organisation and affects performance level as well. Some negative
factors are discussed below:
Limited career growth and training needs: Lack of career development opportunities is
also the factor that enhances dissatisfaction level of employees. If in an organisation no training
is provided than it leads employees towards leaving the organisation because there is no chances
of career development. It affects the organisation in negative manner and decreases the
performance level of employees as well.
Conflict among colleagues or management: Conflicts within colleagues and management
department also the factor that enhances the stress of employees that creates negative work
experiences among employees. Poor management is also the factor that is the reason of
employee dissatisfaction (Gu, 2018). Conflicts affect employee relationship with organisational
members effectively that must be resolve by the management department in order to achieve all
defined goals and objectives in efficient manner.

Lack of meaningful work: Lack of meaningful work plays important role to create job
dissatisfaction of employees with their job role. When the work is not related to specialisation of
employees so they loss their interest in work that decreases performance and productivity as
well. These factors enhance the negative employee experience from their job role and
organisation.
Strategies to cope with negative factors employees experience as a result of their job roles
As negative factors affect employee performance and productivity as well as affect business in
negative manner. So, these factors must be examined by the organisation and effective strategies
and planning (Kim, Sunitiyoso and Medal, 2019). There are various strategies are used by the
organisation to cope up all negative factors that impacts on employee experience with jobs.
Some strategies are discussed below:
Enhance employee engagement in decision-making: If organisations enhance better
employee engagement in the process of decision-making that reduces that negative working
experience as well as enhance their performance. It resolves all conflicts among employees and
motivates them to engage with organisational activities for long period of time.
Create effective culture of learning: Organisation must adopt effective strategies to create
positive working experience. Developing the effective culture of learning within organisation
that provides various challenges as well as develop various individual functional and leadership
skills that enhances career development opportunities for employees.
Provide career transition support: As employees have fear to lass their jobs that creates negative
impact on their working performances. So, organisation should provide better career
development opportunities that enhances employee engagement as well as retainment rates
(Salzman and Yerace, 2018). Career opportunities enhances the strengths of employees as well
as help them to attain all defined goals and objectives in effective and efficient manner.

As per above report, it can be concluded that motivation is the effective factor that enhances
employee working performance, profitability and productivity level. There are various factors
that affect employees in positive as well as in negative manner. These factors must be examined
by the management department of organisation and effective strategies are developed that cope
