An example to demonstrate the "power" aspect of leadership in a positive light
In terms of organizational settings, it is significant for the leaders to use their power to achieve
organizational, team and individual goals. The leaders must have the ability to encourage their
followers to attain greater performance. They must influence their juniors and superiors to take
vital decisions that should be helpful for their organization to achieve the goals (Cooper &
McCray, 2017). One of the best ways, through which an individual could gain power is by using
their leadership quality through various tactics that can easily motivate and encourage others.
The power tactics establishes a powerful relationship between leaders and followers.
For example, while working in a reputed firm, I have used these power tactics in my leadership
activity. Considering my skills and ability, I was selected as the leader of a team and to complete
the work within time, I have used the power tactics. I am a disciplined person and by using the
“power” aspect of leadership, I was able to control my team members for completing each if the
task allocated to them. In order to use my power positively, sometimes I used to arrange
meetings with my team members to resolve the issues and execute the required tasks. The
“power” aspect makes it clear that to influence team members, the leaders must use their power
in a positive manner rather than in a negative way (Hackworth, Steel, Cooksey, DePalma &
Kahn, 2018). Therefore, following this aspect, I have used my leadership power to control my
team members and to encourage them to give their full effort.
An example to demonstrate this leadership quality
From the above example, it can be seen that I have a clear vision that is leadership quality which
helps in building team skill for execution of any business processes. Clear vision is a leadership
quality that enables a leader to focus on the goal (Ndalamba, Caldwell & Anderson, 2018).
The above example shows that being a leader, I have the ability to understand the purpose of
achieving these goals, and therefore, I always motivate as well as encourage my team members
to complete the task within time. In addition, it is quite important that for controlling and
influencing a team, the leader must have the ability to build an inclusive workforce (Feldman,
2018). In order to be an effective leader, I have always supported my team members whenever
they needed me during work process. Besides this, I always arrange meetings every week to
ensure that the whole team is working together to achieve the desired goal. These meetings prove

to be beneficial for the team members as it helps to build a core value for reaching their work
goals. Proper skills of business management helps a leader not only to encourage or motivate
their team members but also influences them to complete their task as per the stipulated time
without any delay. Therefore, with the help of this “clear vision” leadership quality, I can
achieve my goals and can accomplish my dreams in future.
