The development of a positive mind state is important for the functioning of any
individual. This flows from the fact that it is the cognitive growth of a human being which
defines his or her characteristics (Gander, Proyer and Ruch 2016). In this manner, there is a need
for the installation of a positive psychology within any work place so that the employees can
work in an effective manner in order to promote the growth and development of the organization.
This essay tries to analyze two news articles which has talked about the issue of positive
psychology. In this respect, the theme of the two chosen news article is that of inspiring positive
psychology within the working of an organization.
In a news article published on 30th April. 2019, the effectiveness of leadership and
positive psychology was discussed (Forbes.com, 2019). In this news article, the correspondent,
Dr. Sydney Ceruto has tried to understand the importance of people in the effective functioning
of the organization (Forbes.com, 2019). He stated that the effective working of the employees in
the work place would ensure the generation of efficient levels of productivity. In the news article
the correspondent has examined and analyzed the different forms of leadership that can be
instituted so that people can be encouraged to work. In this manner, the factor of motivation has
been highlighted in the article. It is observed that of the employees are properly motivated that
they would be able to remain happy and satisfied in their work place (Compton and Hoffman
2019). In this respect, they would work harder which would lead to the increase in the level of
production. The aspect of motivation is generated by the imposition of several other elements as
that of rewards and recognition. In this manner, it can be said that rewards in the form of
monetary resources and bonuses would instigate the people to work harder so that they would be
rewarded in a sufficient manner. Furthermore, being recognized is one of the most important

requirement of any employee. They want to be recognized by their superiors for the work they
do so that they get the appropriate appreciation that they deserve.
In this manner, it can be observed that the element of positive psychology is important for
a work place. It enables an individual to remain content which leads to the increase in their work
productivity. Thus, positive psychology can be said to have a direct positive impact on the
cognitive level of the different individuals.
The second article which deals with positive psychology was published on 27th April,
2019 (Forbes.com, 2019). In this news article, the correspondent Brett Steenbarger, discussed
about the different ways in which positive psychology can be built in a person as a result of
various activities (Forbes.com, 2019). In this manner, the news article has used the term “therapy
for the mentally well” in order to make the readers aware about the contents of the article. In the
traditional times, the focus was on the maintenance of the insurance of the concerned people. In
this respect, the role of the motivational speakers and the role models increased to a great extent.
In the contemporary time period, the role of a guide is seen to be of immense values. In this
method, the psychologist aids the concerned individual in the development of his or her
cognitive ability. In some situations, a person has to face a lot of problems for instance, when
they are required to migrate to another place ad have to leave their own native place
(Forbes.com, 2019). The mental trauma faced by such people are tired to be eliminated by the
psychologist with the aid of positive exposure therapy. Under this therapy, the individual is
engaged in a phase of eternal happiness and self-fulfillment where they are made to believe that
the work done by them is aiding them in their progression.
In this respect, it can be seen that the aspect of positive psychology is quite important for
the people who are suffering from various mental trauma. This requires the individual to adopt a

positive view of himself and herself which is known as positive cognitive therapy. Under these
various therapies, the factor of positive psychology can be implemented among the human
society.
In conclusion, it can be observed that it is quite important for the human beings to be kept
happy and satisfied. In this manner, there are different therapies and designated people who can
be made responsible for the institution of this positive psychology.
