How can workers contribute to bring positivity in workplace culture and mental health to
reduce negative dispositions?
It can be easily recognised nowadays that mental health in workplace have been
acting as a crucial determinant on overall mental and physical health of workers that adds to
the negative dispositions at workplaces. In many countries, it is been surveyed and found that
mental health related issues caused various employees quit their job along with reflecting
direct impact upon businesses and employers due to increased absenteeism, increased costs to
deal with workers issues and negative effects on workplace culture. Work-related stress not
only cause poor work performance, but also results in occupational ill health of workers.
Therefore, the above hypothesis question has been raised about workers contribution for
brining workplace positivity as well as mental health satisfaction to reduce negative
dispositions and job-related stress (Rajgopal, 2010).
The idea behind mental health at workplace needs to focus upon individuals instead of
organisation as a whole. It will not only gain individuals and the workplace, but also help in
promoting positive work environment that can reduce negative dispositions and job-related
stress to get an increased workers presence and higher productivity. The unremitting and
constant change in businesses and workplace today is increasingly motivating workers to
address their safety and health. Even the global marketplace demands organisations to
upgrade workplace efficiency and effectiveness. This in return have encouraged employers to
introduce new ways that can result in increased performance and avoid losses associated with
mental health and safety of workers working at workplace (Rao & Chandraiah, 2012).
