This report, a product of a student's research for the Digital Skills and Research Methods module, investigates the prevalence and impact of power abuse in the workplace. The study employs a quantitative research approach, utilizing a questionnaire distributed to 50 employees across two multinational companies. The report provides a comprehensive literature review, exploring various forms of workplace abuse such as violence, bullying, discrimination, and harassment, and their effects on employee performance and well-being. The research methodology section details the survey design, sampling techniques, and ethical considerations. The core of the report lies in its data analysis, presenting findings through tables and interpretations of responses to five closed-ended questions. The results highlight the perceptions of employees regarding the misuse of power, the occurrence of abusive practices, and potential preventive measures. The report concludes with a summary of findings, discussions on the limitations of the study, and recommendations for future research, emphasizing the need for expanded sample frames and online surveys to gather more comprehensive data. The study aims to shed light on the negative practices within organizations and their effects on employees, particularly female employees, who are often victims of power abuse.
