Q1. Discuss how you would handle the conflict with: a) your partner and b) the builder
Explain in detail your conflict management strategy for both the above stakeholders.
While carrying out a project it becomes essential to ensure that each components can be
managed successfully within a project. The given case study is about managing the way dream
home can be built for the customers. However while developing a house it becomes important to
recognize each components practically so that the project can be executed successfully. In order
to complete a home design it becomes essential to manage the ideas so that it can avoid conflicts
with the partner and builders (ArttoAhola&Vartiainen,2016). The main issues that is faced with
developing house is that the stakeholders faced several challenges while developing thedesign
and this impacted the decision for carrying out the project. Due to improper way of cost
estimation it has the ability to impact the development and designing process of the home. The
stakeholder engagement plays a pivotal role and thus it becomes important to make sure that
proper way of managing the project has been implemented.
In order to manage the conflicts between the partners it becomes essential to ensure that
each designs have been prepared after consulting all the partners. The goal needs to be prioritized
from the early so that it can make sure a way that is better of managing the resources at time of
development. The home design needs to be developed in such a way that it can make sure a way
that is better of managing the energy within the system (McKenzie, 2015). There is a need to
highly execute proper rules that will make sure that the executed solar energy is able to give
better benefits towards the customers. Beside this there is a need to develop proper behavioral
events that will be able to ensure that each needs of the partners and their decision have been
taken in consideration. Thus, with the help of proper management, it will become easy to manage
the performance and design can be developed practically.

From the case study it can be observed that several challenges were faced with managing
the design for building new home for the customers. The partner involved with the project needs
to discuss about the design effectively with the builders so that they can prepare the home
effectively. The main issue is to decide which solar energy system is to be implemented while
designing the home. This dilemma was faced by the stakeholders as it has the ability to manage
the customer and will provide proper support towards the development process. The
communication process needs to be made clear so that it can give support that is better towards
the builder (Kaphingst et al., 2016). By conducting proper meetings it will become easy to
manage the processes. One of the main performances offered with the key start is that it helps in
offering unique home loan and ensures that the entry costs can be managed faster. Thus before
designing a home it becomes essential to approve each parts with the key stakeholders and
builders so that it can make sure that the project has been successfully carried out without
affecting the development procedure. Builder requires to be managed effectively within time so
that they can give better support towards the procedure of development. Each discussion needs to
be made effectively with the key builders so that they can provide proper development on time
(Meloncon& Frost, 2015). It is expected that with management that is proper of customers it
will become easy to manage the relation between the builders.
Q3. Explain how you would use the Seven Quality Control (7 QC) tools and techniques to
help you manage this project. (You must demonstrate the application of these tools in
relation to this project. You may also propose other tools and techniques that you have
learned from this unit).
Seven quality control tools and techniques are used for the purpose of managing the
project effectively. The 7QC includes cause and effect diagrams, Pareto charts, control charts,

scatter diagrams, histograms, flowcharts and checklists. The main goal behind using the 7QC
tool is that it helps in improving the process and product quality. These are used for the purpose
of examining the production process and ensures that all defects are being resolved with the use
of this quality control tools. Quality is considered as one of the major aspects and thus it
becomes essential to ensure that proper support has been offered towards the project
management team (Naismith et al., 2016). The tool will give better support towards identifying
the key issues and ensures that proper product quality is maintained while delivering the product.
It becomes easy to manage the quality of the product. The functioning of the tools are been
described below in respect to the case study.
 Cause-and-effect diagrams: this tool has been used for the purpose of organizing the
ideas and ensures that proper relationship is being developed that has the potential to
remove the challenges by identifying the best way of resolving the issues. This has the
potential to remove the challenges. The main issue that has been identified is with the
improper communication process that has led to impacting the development process
(Pfaller et al.,2017). There is a need to manage the communication process effectively
with the partners and builders so that they can make sure proper way of controlling the
problems.
 Pareto charts:with the help of Pareto charts it becomes easy to prioritize the contributors
that helps in identifying the largest opportunity areas for the purpose of creating more
opportunities towards the problems that are faced while developing a project. This tool
has been considered as one of the good communication tool that has the ability to manage
the events and process that are taking place within the projects. The tool will help in
fixing the challenges faced while building the homes (Prístavka,Kotorová&Savov, 2016).

It is important to develop a proper communication between the people and the team
members so that they can make a better way of controlling the problems.
 Control chart: the principal reason behind using control chart is that it helps in
investigating the different variation that may lie within the events. This ensures a better
way of managing the processes over time and helps in processing the variation within the
projects. The main issue that has been identified within the project is with managing the
communications between the main stakeholders.
 Scatter diagrams: the scatter diagram is used for the purpose of visualizing the
relationship that may exists between two variables. With the help of histograms it
becomes easy to spread, locate and shape of the data. This tool has the potential to
manage the projects and will ensure that a proper way of managing the projects has been
implemented so that the homes can be designed successfully.
 Flowcharts: flowchart has been used for the purpose of providing a better way of
visualizing the processes that are associated with the projects (Raines et al., 2019). With
an effective visual representation it becomes easy to manage the projects and will ensure
that all boundaries have been meet while carrying out the projects.
 Checklists: The main aim of the checklist is to summarize the events that are taking
place within the projects. This will ensure a better way of managing the projects and will
ensure that all the needs of the project are meet successfully. With the help of this tool it
will become easy to design the home for the customers (Vanclay et al.,2015). This will
enhance the discussion process and will build a proper relation among the customer with
proper cost estimation for designing new home.
