How do
organisations
employ the best
staff? In particular,
how does an
organisation find
the best project
manager?
Organizations select the best
employee through extensive
screening and interview process.
The best project manager is
appointed by analysing the most
suitable attributes of the project
manager.
From my experience, it is evident that every
organization pick the best employee who
would work as a team to achieve their
objectives. The appropriate project
manager is also selected based on his
qualities and past experiences in similar
projects.

management: a systems approach to planning,
scheduling, and controlling. John Wiley & Sons.
What skills do you
think are needed
for a good project
manager? Why?
The project manager must be adept
at handling any project and treating
all projects as unique.
By doing so they would be able
handle any project skilfully with very
less possibility for error.
In my experience, I could see that every
good project manager handles each project
uniquely and that makes them successful.
What happens
when an
organisation
selects the wrong
project manager?
Projects fail without the right project
manager.
In my experience, one of the key
responsibilities of the project manager is to
oversee that the project objectives are met.
Without such supervision from such project
manager, projects tend to fail.
Do you think
project managers
of today are
different from
project manager
ten years ago? How
are they different?
Project managers from ten years ago
principally followed waterfall and
predictive style of project approach.
Today, project managers chiefly
follow agile and adaptive style to
project approach.
Ten years ago, the project managers were
rigid in their approach to different projects.
They would follow pre-determined steps to
complete any project. These days, project
managers apply the most suitable
approaches to projects after critically
analysing every project.
Are you different in Previously, I always followed every step to

the point and did not bend any rules. Now, I
adapt according to the situation and
prioritize my tasks before executing them.
Do you ever try to
improve your
efficiency in how
you do things?
Yes, I give full effort at improving my
efficiency for the work that I do.
How do you
improve? What do
you do?
I have improved by dividing my complex
tasks into simpler ones and then executing
each of those steps with utmost precision.
Since, I do not need to redo any tasks, I
have improved my efficiency.

I have read several literatures and successfully observed that every project is unique and it is the responsibility of the project manager to
understand the requirements of a project and devise his strategies accordingly.
