and thus arbitration is used that leads to mitigation of the
conflict.
2. How can we Avoid Disputes, Claims, Variations, and
Arbitration?
Disputes can be avoided by maintaining a calm
composure while having discussions. This can easily be
achieved by having people with sound judgement
participate in the discussions. Lack of dispute leads to
elimination in the number of claims. Therefore, there
would not be any variations and the need for arbitration
is thus completely avoided.
3. What happens if we don’t Avoid Disputes, Claims,
Variations, and Arbitration?
Conflict of interest and ethics give rise to disputes.
Disputes can hence disrupt the work flow. Continuous
disputes can permanently damage the damage the work
culture of an organization. Additional effort is thus wasted

The sources are not adequate for us and for the study of

successful scenarios about successful negotiation would
have provided us with more insight in how to successfully

construction industry in Hong Kong. Negotiators in
various other countries and different sectors might use
different techniques for negotiation.

hypotheses reasonable?
The assumptions states that the negotiator must have
knowledge of the matter over which the dispute has
taken place and the person must also be stable
emotionally. These qualities is desirable in a negotiator,
however assuming that such qualities are present in a
negotiator is fairly unreasonable.

believable in your experience?
In my experience, the results of true hypothesis are
believable as it is based on data collected from genuine
sources. However, the results of false hypothesis are not
believable as the sources of such hypothesis rea=mins
unidentified and therefore cannot be trusted.

thoughts around Commercial Project Negotiation?
Yes, the ideas do help in structuring my thoughts that aid
in commercial project negotiation. The different levels of
negotiation are properly analysed through various data
that has been collected for the research.

topics?
This week’s topic is a continuation of the content on
negotiation that we have studied so far. Negotiation is an
important aspect of the corporate and the business world
and the skills of negotiation Is also required for settling
disputes.
